    It is funny how people are cribbing that she just showed the relatively wealthier parts of India, and not the relatively poorer parts, but they never crib when budget travellers just show the poorer parts, the slums, the budget hotels and the street foods.
    It is all about narrative. No one complains when she showed the luxurious lifestyle of Paris, London or any other cities. Probably people associate India with povery and slums, and hence they are disappointed.
    Also, it is not her fault that she is rich. It is her money and she decides where to stay, how much to spend etc.

      Real_Ankit there are more homeless in states than in india,every one associate india with poverty but india was the richest country in the world and because of multiple invasion indian became weak but still 6th largest economy in the world.India is great and more beautiful than most of the country in the world

      Where is the data for such a claim for the homeless population? BTW Governments in the US do a lot to tackle the homeless population!
      India is great, but the reality cannot be ignored!

    • @manavjain8805
      @manavjain8805 5 лет назад +7

      Savage the reality is India has 1.2 billion ppl and all ppl cannot be rich .Some has to be poor and some has to be rich. Also middle class do exist that is close to 600 million ppl .

    • @savage7375
      @savage7375 5 лет назад +2

      @@manavjain8805 Agreed! My point is different though.
      People are quick to compare India to developed countries. If there are homeless in the US, how does it relate to India having poor population? It's like if someone asks a politician, "What are you doing to alleviate poverty in India", and he replies, "What about poverty in the US?".
      A lot of people in India are living in the past, saying things like India was the richest country in the world and then there were Invasions. Good! What about now? What about the serious modern day problems in India and what is the leadership doing about it? There's trash everywhere, the population is out of control, hunger, the crime against women, an endless list.

    I am from Turkey and one of my biggest dream is travelling India in one day, maybe after my graduation. I really like and admire India for its exotic and mystic structure, tranquil and truly peaceful nature, wild jungles which contain unfamiliar animal species. Agra, Kolkota, Hyderabad and state of Kerata, Thrivandrapharum sound me adorable places.. :)

    Amazed at people criticising the lady for not showing real India. People actually just want to see the poverty just like how west portrays India in its media be it music videos, hollywood movies or news. If she is showing the world other side of it, why are people getting offended. There are tons of vlogs here which foreigners picture only poverty laden part of India. Those who are offended can visit those videos to satisfy their ego.

      Hi, Smith. As level of development, yes I would say that India is still a 3rd world country. There are large areas of poverty and deprivation, however there are also areas that show wealth and development, but from what I saw these were few and far between and were mainly in central Delhi. India is a place where you become amazed and overwhelmed by everything, it’s beautiful and is nothing like anything else I could compare it to. I can’t wait to go back.

    Not really understanding some of the negative comments with regards to this video. It's very clear that Victoria is working with certain companies in this video and thus portraying a particular luxurious style trip that so happens to be in India. I would also say, from experience, that it's not always easy to fully immerse yourself in the Indian culture as a young white British female. I'm lucky that I've been able to do so as my partner's family are Goan. There is no way I would have the confidence, guaranteed safety, and avoid being completely 'ripped off', if I didn't have him by my side, when I've gone exploring around India. Also, in reference to some people complaining that Victoria hasn't highlighted the poverty and daily struggles for some in India... that's the equivalent of criticising a non-English RUclipsr invited to experience the delights of our luxury hotels or restaurants in London but failing to mention the all-time-high knife and gun crime that is happening in parts of our city at the moment! It seems you can't please everyone all the time!

      Nafisah Atcha I've never been to India but I have heard that they are actually not very forward thinking and that the poor people lead a very tough like due to the caste system. Is that actually a misunderstanding? Because I don't want to think something about a country that is not true. I thought it was very conservative etc, but please tell me if I'm wrong!! I have been afraid of going to India because of these rumors. If they are wrong I need to know lol! x

    • @tweentycenturyrock
      @tweentycenturyrock 6 лет назад +22

      ParadiseLost now it's more about classism, although there are some people who still follow caste system. But you should not have any preconceptions if you want to visit India. Come with an open mind and it will surprise you. India is a vast country and everything form culture to language, food to climate changes as you travel further. And even though there are so much of craziness in this country there is a sense of peace within it.

    • @parthajdas223
      @parthajdas223 6 лет назад +9

      ParadiseLost just read your comment and I want to say that just don't think about the rumors. And don't be afraid to visit India but its a bit conservative except the northeastern part of the country. Accept what you see after landing , try not to fight with the circumstances and go with the flow. Come to India with least expectations and you will enjoy the most.

    • @andychauhan6544
      @andychauhan6544 6 лет назад +12

      ParadiseLost I think you're confusing culture, tradition and religion with forward thinking, anyways if you're scared of visiting countries because of unsubstantiated rumors then I pity you. There is simply no excuse for being ignorant in today's age of instant information...even if you prefer the easy visual kind, there are tons of videos available on YT to help make your decision.

    Oh and P.S one interesting fact about the Taj Mahal Hotel... In the 1900s Jamestji Tata, one of India’s leading industrialist was denied entry to the Watson Hotel, one of the best hotels in Mumbai in that era... just cause he was an Indian and entry was only for the British and whites. He was hurt by this. In return he commissioned the building of the Taj Mahal Hotel which stands to this very day. I think Watson’s went bankrupt soon after. The Taj Hotel would welcome everyone from every race and colour. The Taj Group to this day is one of the organisations known for their high integrity and moral fibre

    Thank you guys both for the wonderful words in the video for my country. My description to all the people who have reservations & skepticism about visiting India.
    India has its extremes. Places can be extremely beautiful & soothing on the other hand if you go to some remote poor places, it can be dirty & chaotic. But remember India has huge poverty & illiteracy.
    Is India safe - Like many other countries, there can be some places here & there which can be risky. Just make sure you don't go out alone late in the night in isolated places, especially ladies.
    Don't get irritated or show your frustration. Be humble & nice, but don't get too friendly or engage with a stranger for long. Be slow to trust someone blindly you don't know. India is a poor country, so definitely there are people who can take you for a ride. Check with a local person before you buy something, want to get somewhere. If you just do this & mind your own business, India is 99.99% safe.
    Things which can shock western tourists are crowd, noise, traffic, pollution, honking & living conditions in some places. Stay calm & allow everything to sink in. And slowly you will start seeing the beauty in the chaos, the simplicity, the spirit of the people, how people are happy with whatever they have. After this it will be a fun filled experience - you will see the colors, culture & the real essence of India.
    Food is something which you will definitely relish. Many things can be spicy as it's prepared with lot of masala to suit the Indian taste especially if you have at small joints. Some people can get a stomach upset, as you stomach needs time to program to the new configuration, but none the less you will enjoy the variety of Indian delicacies.
    So do visit India, it will be a memorable, unique & life changing experience which you will never forget. I am from Bangalore city - South of India.
    Thanks again for Victoria. Sorry about the long message. Keep up your good work. Cheers

    Until british rule(1700s), India had a share of almost 25%(largest) of world GDP which declined to 2% in 1900s. So, u can imagine how india was before india's economy being destroyed and wealth taken away by british empire.
    Indians weren't poor, They were made poor. Fortunately, India is reclaiming its glory again & emerging as world power.

    If you tour India north to south, east to west that means you had survived whole the world because you see everything in India like rivers,mountains,beaches,desert ,snowfalls,different kind of cultures and more. India is great.
