With obscene wooden carvings of Saturn eating his babies to Harry Potter style flags hanging from the grand ceilings… this place is unbelievable…. Until….

These two are the best most entertaining explorers I have ever seen, absolutely brilliant, the banter between them is funny as hell.
The Greek God with the chicken was Alectryon. His job was to watch for the approach of the sun when Ares was making love to Aphrodite, so that they would not be discovered by her husband, Hephaestus. One morning he fell asleep, and the two lovers were discovered. Furious, Ares turned Alectryon into a rooster, which never forgets to announce the arrival of dawn.
The Greek god with the Phoenix was Cadmus, most likely.
Great explore! Glad no one got the business end of that canine.

It's truly amazing that this place dates back to Tudor times and is still structurally sound. Goes to show just how much time and craftsmanship went into this place when it was built many centuries ago. I'm American but would love to go to the UK to see all the fascinating old, magnificent buildings and castles there. Thank you for sharing this!

Forster was a politician for Berkshire during Elizabeth's reign, could explain the London connection and the house could've been where he and his family holidayed. Amazing video, thanks for showing us

I lived in Lake Havasu Arizona for 5 yrs where the original London Bridge was shipped and reassembled across the Colorado River.. at night it still has a creepy vibe when you walk around underneath it .. very often when I was down there, I thought of Jack the Ripper had once walked these very same stones.
I love the story of this as it was a big con and the guy who bought it thought he was buying tower bridge lol
@@FINDERSBEEPERS So its not true?.. well I'll be..lol.. everything I can find says it happened for the tune of over 10 mil in the 60's which I don't know how much that would be in todays money..

A beautiful building to be sure, I hope there is a plan somewhere to save or restore or do something to keep that intact. The police I noticed don't carry guns.....I love that, keep up the good work really enjoyed this video and the opportunity to see what lies within the walls of such beauty and history.

I know exactly where this place is as I have been there myself and researched it! But that was when it was a hotel! Police guarding it everywhere due to its location, don’t know how you managed this! Lots of ghost stories. Should definitely be given to the national trust xx

I knew it was gunna happen! Amazing place … The first time we went was actually only a couple of days after you went but we didn’t manage to get in but we needed to go back at some point
In the intro where Andy points his torch up to the window on far right uppermost top, it looked like a person in light clothing at the window and I thought I saw their head move forward, altho it could be a trick of the light of course.
The place is amazing, I love the stairs and the status, but you two make my Sunday, I love that you go to places in a building others don't go.

If I got it right, from the American Viscountess, King Henry 1st Coat of Arms in Stained Glass means he stayed there, at least for one night.

Hi, great exploration. When I saw all those electical lines on the attic, I knew the police will catch you. The house is highly equipped with an alarm system, silent alarm and whatnot. I hope you will not have to pay a high fine for trespassing or whatever they may call it...
No fine involved… They just make sure you haven’t stolen anything and then let you go

The alarm system doesn’t work that’s why there is a temporary vacant building alarm installed which was the pirs on the wooden posts the cables in the attic at coaxial cables for the tv aerials

I've seen this place before and it's sad to see some of the vandalism that's happened. Great explore though, well done. Especially for going to these places at night - I'd be bricking it. And your Liverpool accent was en pointe! XD

as for the very last 3 minutes of the video, Andy I could see exactly what Matt was seeing, it was the funniest thing I’ve seen all weekend.

To be fair I've seen quite a few explores from this location. Every single one ends up with MOD police, their dogs and cars. Those officers were OK, some are incredibly shout and rough on the explorers. That staircase is fabulous. I can't begin to understand what sort of mindless idiot thinks it's OK to spray paint. Still, at least you didn't get tazered or bitten. Thanks for the video. 🙂

I love the carvings on the staircase. I think the woman with the bow and arrows is Diana, the huntress. And the hairy man is The green man, the carving, not Matt. Amazing place.
Diana is the Roman Equivalent of the Greek goddess Artemis 🙂

The goddess with the bow is Artemis. The statue of a man with a fish might be poseidon, Zeus’ brother

YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING! I have seen other explorers get caught by the police or security guards and they were kind of rude. I really liked the way you guys handled yourselves. We all know you guys don"t do anything wrong. I just wish they would catch the people that destroy these places before the get the chance.

I noticed as you went down the cellar that the alarms stopped beeping and I had a feeling something was going to happen. I'm surprised they let you keep filming. You always seem to have a positive experience with security/police. Don't pick on Andy!
My first time watching you guys which looks good, but I did find the place really easy to find from items you showed in the video.
Not easy to get in, or last very long inside before the MOD police and dogs arrive...

They were sniffer dogs. One fart's enough for them to follow the scent. Poor buggers having to smell that, you should be reported to the RSPCA! 😝

This is Sandleford Priory, Berkshire.
The lessees of the place in the time period around 1640 included Humphry (Humphrey) Forster and his wife Anna (Anne)
It is a Grade 1 listed building set in Grade 2 listed grounds (grounds designed by Capability Brown).
I very much doubt that it is abandoned!!

It's still in very good condition, but its the weather and leaking through the roof that is causing the damage. But police and MOD do arrive very quickly.

The bearded explorer and taser urbex have both done this place and taser or the bearded explorer have the faces of them wooden statues
Yes we mentioned in the video that one other lot of explorers had done it and that’s who we saw doing it back in May
