I remember way, way, way back in the day when Circus Circus was not only renowned for the quality and variety of its buffets, but also its prices for them. $1.99 for breakfast, $2.99 for lunch, and $3.99 for dinner. Even factoring in the effects of inflation, they would still be bargains by today's standards.
I love that you don't walk in with any preconceived notions, which you could have in this case, given your experience with the Circus Circus dinner buffet. That review, btw, is my all-time favorite. Hall of Fame material.
I've got a question for everyone who regularly goes to vegas. Why? You can go on a 3-day Cruise for like sometimes less than 300 bucks. You have casinos. The shows are included and yes for the most part the food is all included. And you're in a new place all the time. What is one thing you get in Vegas that you cannot get on a cruise ship??????? Wait I forgot something if you're cruising Norwegian your alcohol is also included.
A lot of people that go to vegas get rooms comped which means you are only paying for food and shows which will run about $300 too. Plus your drinks are free when you gamble. I think the difference is in Vegas you have the option to choose between different casinos, shows, sporting events, concerts, etc…there are hundreds of entertainment options where on a cruise you are stuck to what they have available. All in all maybe not too much difference from either one.

It actually doesn’t look too bad as buffets go . Went to the Circus Circus buffet back in 1988. Can’t remember the price back then . But I Remember the place was packed. The selection of items was phenomenal, and everything was hot and delicious
On our first visit to Vegas in 1992 the breakfast buffet was $1.99. Lunch $2.99. We were getting about 2 dollars to the UK pound so thought all our Christmasses had come at once. The food wasn't great though even back then.
Mashed potatoes are often less stiff before going on a buffet because the water will evaporate as it sits. If it goes out like we normally would eat it at home it’s gonna look like the oatmeal that you saw within about 15-20 minutes.
Hi Ruby, love your content! What a great, thorough review. I would not pay $25 for breakfast buffet. In my opinion, it should be half that! Or comped would be nice. lol I had to find the circus circus Starbucks on a recent trip to Fontainebleau’s. So I think I would grab coffee cake or Lennon cake there lol! ❤
Hey Ruby. Awesome Vegas Nostalgia 👍😻🍀. Thank you for giving it a chance & a review. I know the younger crowd likes the high end hotels. This place was total classic Vegas. Morning slot tournaments & the low limit tables. I would run across from Riviera😁. Our friends did the RV hookups in the back of Circus and would travel from Texas. 👍
I have been there before. I love the Slots O' Good and Plenty. Some places just bring luck so I just go there. I never have any luck at others. The hotel has alot of young hispanic families. We met a whole group of co workers and their families who worked for Cal dept. Transporation at the swimming pool. Just alot of nice people. No movie starts or goofy RUclips stars but plenty of down to earth people and their families. I like it there. The facility is tired but the people are nicer than at other places.
I went one time in Reno and I will never go back. They had fruit cocktail that was fermented, I like my oatmeal thick but, yes I would some milk. At least the melon is fresh.

Always liked Circus Circus. It's fun and cheap. I think the buffet seems quite nice. The potatoes and chicken looked great. Not everyone wants to spend $100 on a buffet or meal.
I'm not very surprised by the review. Circus Circus has really gone downhill and they haven't really bothered to change with the times. I don't eat as much as I used to so buffets aren't as big with me these days. When I'm in Vegas I usually stick with the Peppermill and the $3 beer and hot dog 🌭 special at the Stage Door.
The fact they’re getting so much publicity these days has also made a lot more people curious. It’s very clever marketing on the contrary and it’s getting even busier now than ever

When you say, "Let's finish this up", even after basically saying it sucks, do you actually eat the rest of it?
It actually doesn’t look too bad as buffets go . Went to the Circus Circus buffet back in 1988. Can’t remember the price back then . But I Remember the place was packed. The selection of items was phenomenal, and everything was hot and delicious
OMG I was full after the 2nd plate....LOL GREAT review! as always
I am going to las vegas on my own in about two weeks, any suggestions of hotel etc.?
I love the car being towed right in front of the hotel entrance 😅
30 years ago it cost $1.99. Shrimp Cocktail, .99. And 30 years ago I was 30 years younger and the world was different.
On our first visit to Vegas in 1992 the breakfast buffet was $1.99. Lunch $2.99. We were getting about 2 dollars to the UK pound so thought all our Christmasses had come at once. The food wasn't great though even back then.
Imagine the prices back in the 70's?
Thank you TravelRuby. 😊
That looks like the free breakfast you’d get at a Holiday Inn. That bacon doesn’t look good. Yikes. Great video, Ruby ❤
Thanks for taking one for the team
“Customers must the utensils provided…” 😂
Haha, I caught that too!
I bring my own utensils everywhere.😂😂😂
@@Tom-b3x1v I think they mean the serving utensils 🤣
I am going to Las Vegas this September and staying at the ARIA what do you recommend to do there ?
What brand is the wet dog food?
Use to be .99 cents back in the day. Today, 25 bones for canned eggs? Not in my colon.
Watch Out ! That Buffet is going to leave a Burning, Explosive Exit Wound !
Seems very similar to Golden Corral which is much cheaper than $25. Not a good deal I'd say. Thanks for your honest review.
At least the melon is fresh.
cheese + tortilla + eggs + sausage 😋
There's nothing that could get me on that property, NOTHING. They could give a free buffet and I would pass...
Their indoor amusement park is pretty great though.
Slots of Fun…cheap drinks
Hey travel ruby! Im on my moms account right now I remember in 2020 I met you at MGM casino! When I was 11 yrs I’m now turning 13 and can’t wait to see you again looking forward to it we will be heading to Las Vegas June 8th! To the 16th!
This looks absolutely delicious! The food looks good too!
If you want to get drunk and party Circus Circus is the place. Dealers bartenders and security are pretty cool if you keep it amongst your own group.
Once upon a time i remember the circus circus breakfast buffet being .99c. And it was bad then too
How do you mass produce eggs? Squeeze the chickens to get the eggs out?
Always liked Circus Circus. It's fun and cheap. I think the buffet seems quite nice. The potatoes and chicken looked great. Not everyone wants to spend $100 on a buffet or meal.
I'm not very surprised by the review. Circus Circus has really gone downhill and they haven't really bothered to change with the times.
I don't eat as much as I used to so buffets aren't as big with me these days. When I'm in Vegas I usually stick with the Peppermill and the $3 beer and hot dog 🌭 special at the Stage Door.
They attract a lower socioeconomic crowd why would they change no reason to pour money into a broke crowd lol
Pepper mill is way over price Maryland Pkwy local eats cheaper
The fact they’re getting so much publicity these days has also made a lot more people curious. It’s very clever marketing on the contrary and it’s getting even busier now than ever
