Easy Cheesy Crackers

Here is what you'll need!
Homemade Cheese Crackers
Servings: 6-8
INGREDIENTS
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
2 to 3 tablespoons ice water
PREPARATION
1. Preheat oven to 350˚F/180˚C
2. Using a hand mixer or standing mixer, combine cheese, butter, and salt in a large bowl.
3. Once combined, mix in the flour and add the ice water one tablespoon at a time. The dough should hold together but crumble apart if you break it up in your hand. If it seems too dry, add a little more ice water.
4. Separate dough into two halves and pack together into discs. Wrap in parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
5. Roll out dough to ⅛ of an inch, pinching the cracks on the ends.
6. Cut into 1 inch x 1 inch squares and pierce a hole in the middle of each square for ventilation during baking.
7. Place the separated crackers on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake for 13 minutes, or until golden brown.
8. Enjoy!

Good recipe, but if you add a little paprika or garlic salt, it makes the flavor really pop. Also, docking with a fork will help them not puff so much. I make these all the time because of my allergies. And they don't have any preservatives.

Made them a little too thick but still tasted great next time will make them thinner used white cheddar instead of yellow cheddar so delicious family is hooked

don't need to add salt since it is already in the cheese. also to make it gluten free, use brown rice flour. better yet, use white cheddar.

I have a question, as a spanish speaking person i want to know if "chill" means to put the dough in the freezer? like, where you do the ice cubes? or in the lower part of the fridge where everything else goes?
It can good in either. The freezer would probably need half the chill time. Good it you are on a rush. But normally when it says chill they are talking about the lower refrigerator part.
