What do you think of the amazing Hobao Hyper GT Rally Car? Better than the maverick quantum RX Flux in all areas although does cost more. I think its worth the extra money as the Hobao is excellent quality and built like a tank! Very impressed with this! Want to see more Hobao on my channel? Let me know what you think 😎💯👍
I think both Cars are cool. The Hobao Likes 6s - Gear IT Up and IT IS a blast. The Maverick is cool Like it comes Out of the Box. Great Car for the Money. More Hobao would be cool. I Like Hobaos too 👍
I have been looking at the maverick quantum rx for a while. Maybe you just changed my mind 🙂 there's are some more I'm considering. The HPI WR8 and your kyosho Subaru rally conversion seems like nice rally cars as well 👍
@@electricnitrorc I have gone brushless on the kyosho! It’s insane! Follow up vid soon! Will also try and track down a HPI wr8 and do a three way comparison 😉

I agree 100 % brother! Hobao makes fantastic high quality vehicles with nice heavy duty gears and diffs. Hobao is a brand that older guys like me in the Hobby are very familiar with but I think many younger people are not familiar with them but should be because they make stuff that is right up there with Arrma and Traxxas, Horizon etc. Great video and being here in WV USA, I also appreciate the cost in dollars so thanks for that my friend! Great video as always! Take care brother 😁👍🤜🤛💯
Iv got a fair decent collect including a hyper st pro and the thing is a tank!! Fair better than any of the junk!!! Arrma produce! Hobao is...Truly understand
But the Arrma Limitless really is astonishing, i agree with this guy about Traxxarse, overpriced pieces of plastic , the HoBao VTE2 is a lovely car also, my Limitless is far from stock, pps, scorched parts, crcu, perfect pass, srt brushless servo, putting in a castle creations xlx2 and tp motor , its so much fun to drive and it handles amazing. Drifts well too! 👍🏻👌🏻
Great that you are covering Hobao. Quality for sure. I think for your level in the hobby, going roller and putting your own electronics and tires is the way to go. You can use what it came with elsewhere and it would be great seeing a 2nd vid with different elec + tires + pinion. A bit more power without going crazy. 4s is enough. Go go HOBAO !!
Really wanting to get one of these for a Rally build myself. I have a traxxas MXL-6s system from my E-Revo v1 to put into, will be installing my Spektrum DX4C transmitter, just need to get a servo for it.

So u think that mavericks quality and durability is higher then hobaos 😅 that's a first.. well to me hobao is on par with arrma, team corally, traxxas and maverick is on the the low end spektrum . I had the quantum plus and that thing was horrible just small jumps on 3s and ive broken the arms, diffs, shocks etc. And RX is the same chassis and parts as quantum plus. they are both smaller and lighter. This thing is heavy, made mostly out of metal and is 1/8 scale. not only that but its running a much lower KV motor than the other two and on 6s it will do way over 50mph+. For 4s on this setup 35mph is not bad for such a big heavy beast. Its all about gearing and electronics. Plus there is way more to it than outright speed.. For more speed on the current 4s setup i could swap the motor out for something with a higher KV rating and get in the 40+ range easily. Hobao wins when it comes to quality easily and if budget was no issue i wouldn't hesitate taking a hobao over the mjx or mt10 any day. Totally different league :)
This is a rally but on road rally. You need to buy another rear shock tower and another set of rear shocks, install them on the front for the longer shock travel and then it’ll be a full fledged off road rally setup. Only other thing you need is the tires for off road. This thing in this on road configuration is still mad off-road! It does really well for such short front travel. I wish they made some kind of chassis cover out of lexan to keep out the dirt and rocks tho. I just ordered one of these in artr form and can’t wait to build it and do the orr conversion.
Never drove it but it's aesthetics are not really pleasing me. Any 1/8 scale rc should have a nice shell/body than this. I'm aware it's been used, but truth be said it looks more like a cheap toy car than an actual scale rallycar like for example the 1/24 Carisma rally car series. Sure the less stuff on the body the less can break, but to me this isnt appeasing at all. You said the chassis is 6S ready but it looks cheap and flimsy, it's hard to imagine it has any rigidity at all tbh. Saying it's better build than an ARRMA is questionable and even laughable. Honestly the best part about this car are probably the dBoots.
Bodyshells are a matter of personal preference. Just because you are not a fan doesn't mean everyone thinks the same. Personally I like it a lot and I appreciate the simplicity. The chassis is tried and tested 6s ready and has been around for years. You do know the hobao VTE is a world record holding car? Hobao as a brand are very underrated and especially by people like you who have no solid previous knowledge of the brand. Doing your research would show hobao are incredibly capable machines. I would take any of my hobao's over anything else out there. Great cars. Appreciate your response and opinion but saying something is laughable without knowing the brand or the facts is more laughable. Cheers
