Blizzcon 2023 was perfect, SoD is a superb change with a very nice direction.
Im not. Ive started a year before tbc was retail. Ive been burned by this company so many times. From wod to shadowlands the game has been on a shit coaster. They have an abnormal amount of arrogance and think they know whats best for the community and treat us like shit. Wow built their company and theyre doing a good job burning it the hell down. Pserver devs deserve my money than blizzard does
I like the sod idea. Not so much the rune system but the big shakeup in the meta and make everyone OP/balancing. Rogue/warlock tanks and mage healers is meh but shaman tanks have my approval! I hoped for talent tweaks, new quests and items all the way from lvl 1-60 but guess that takes time to implement. If this is the first steps and they increase the lvl cap gradually it could be used for a lot of testing phases and buy them time to do classic + in the meanwhile
What are the similarities between SoD and Ascension in your opinion?
Hello Dylan i beg to disagree with you and im really happy actually buzzing for sod. If i want vanilla with some extra items and classes i will play twow or onyxia. They put a level cap because is a beta for classic plus. I applaud blizzard for taking risks and bringing something new to the table. Im still going to play twow together with sod because is going to be FUN something NEW after all this is what we alll want to do unless you are a classic andy and blizzard hater who are a lot in pserver scene. And do you know what im sick as a druid main my balance spec to be a meme and only have to be picked in raids as resto for my cr and motw buff and i have to spam healing touch with sod my druid will be more fun😂

They could just as well go for seasons forever, and port your character to Era once a season is over.
Theory 1 : blizzard is trying to reach the ascension market. It’s well known those guys are raking in cash for years now.
Theory 2: just like HotS blizzard over shoots and misses. They rushed to make a C+ to avoid the drama.
When they say they don’t like PvE and PvP gameplay they actually mean they suck
You could technically say SoD is Classic+ because they're taking Vanilla and adding content to it. However, I don't think it is because it breaks the core design philosophy of OG Vanilla:
1) It's a season, which means it's temporary. Vanilla was about long term progression.
2) They're speeding up the leveling to get everyone to the new content, which is a retail mindset. In Vanilla, the leveling WAS the game, and the game/world didn't care that you were level 1 when Naxx came out.
3) A lot of the added abilities are over the top and doesn't fit into Vanilla, unless they overhaul the combat system. Vanilla was about slower and more methodological/tactical combat with RNG involved (hit rating, misses etc.)
4) The world will no longer feels dangerous or hostile with everyone being powerful.
...and there's probably more. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up becoming retail-like but in a Classic skin.

Didn't seem new to me. Looked like downported abilities, level caps, and rehashing old design.

People need to accept that Blizzard is dead. I remember the times when people were looked down who played on shitty buggy private servers, now we are at the point where turtlewow or ascension devs who do way more than devs in multimillion company..at this point I look down at people who pay blizzard to play a shitty greedy version of wow while coping hard.
Okay bro, let's tap the breaks here making this video into a Turtle wow promotion, doesn't that server charge $200 for spectral tiger knock off mounts? I'm just as jaded as you are in regards to WoW and blizzard. However we have to remember they are a business and retail takes focus no matter what that's where the real money is.
Not only that they have so many iterations of wow now with Classic, Wotlk classic, hardcore, retail they can't devote a full focus on giving people this envisioned classic plus. In the dev talk after the ceremony they said they will be working towards that as time goes by and Season of Discovery is just a start.
That's why its coming out end of this month with no beta they just want to get it out to the people which is pretty cool considering blizzards timelines. I think retail is absolutely rotted and unfixable too so hopefully down the road they can finally push out some form of a proper classic+.
I'll be making a video addressing this as I am inclined to agree that I perhaps was hasty on my opinion on SoD.

They said that they will be adding new stuff in the future. People are saying this is like a test for furture classic +.

@@DylanSmithOwnsyou can call it a lot of things, but you can’t call it lazy. They are clearly throwing a lot of dev work into this, definitely more than has been put into classic wow this far. Whether it pans out or not is a different story
I think the best way blizzard could approach classic+ is to throw shit at the wall and see what sticks, they couldnt make turtlewow because they dont understand what is appealing about turtlewow, im very hopeful for the future even though most of the changes are actually kind of awful, reimagined dungeons, Alterac style ashenvale, low level caps, are all things im excited about. turtle wow is still my image of classic+ and i hope blizzard sees that and starts to move in that direction
but they said they wanna finish unfinished content (thats what turtlewow did)
@@sebbaku i dont think they are going to do it properly, twow tries hard to make the new stuff feel like vanilla content, im not confident blizzard would do that
@@Dearth_Vader Maybe, they said the same thing when I was playing TWOW "We wondered if this was new or was this a part of the game" thats the feeling you want when adding content, if they feel its that way either they know what they need to do (what people want) or its already as such, both aren't the worst indicators.
