I moved to Florida the week before these commercials aired. This was first channel I turned on to was WCIX Channel 6
. I swear the Lionel Playworld and the Zayre commercials ran no stop for the first 2 weeks I moved there.

Those might be the longest commercial bumpers I've ever seen.
Also, gotta love a commercial that's brave enough to show everyone getting annoyed with your product like that sour cream one does.

Bought my VCR, boombox and high school girlfriend's ring there (not Florida). I can still picture all of the electronic equipment along the back wall and long display cases of all the jewelry there in the store.

    Yes! South Florida ads!
Arnie Warren in the Kaufman & Roberts ad was a long-time Miami radio personality.
So many defunct retailers in this group: Kaufman & Roberts, Service Merchandise, Jordan Marsh, Lionel Play World, Beefsteak Charlie's, Zayre, J Byrons, Eckerd Drugs, Modernage - all gone.
The two car dealers - Potamkin and Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet - are still going strong, though.

Clash of the Titans...My mom took my older brothers to see it at the theater, and she told me how it was the worst movie she ever saw. When I told her I wanted to watch it on TV, I remember her warning me. I watched it, and at the time, didn't think it was all that bad. Of course, I haven't seen it in years, so have no idea how it holds up.

Clash Of The Titans-IMO the original is much better than the CGI-heavy remake and its sequel,Wrath Of The Titans
Dadeland Mall-those 80s fashions at the beginning..also that seafood buffet chef sure looks like he loves his job lol
    Toys R Us-the RC A-Team van(WOW!)
Lionel Playworld-i bet the employees were scared to assist that mother and her kids..
Breakstone-guess it's hard to do "a dollop" with that sour cream, unlike Daisy
    Barney Miller-TWO strippers!
    Foul Play-"Beware..the Dwarf."
