    Hey Will, another great video.
    There is definitely a massive improvement, but I always struggle with the figures provided from dyno testers ? amazing with 630 k on the clock, with the mods you would have spent some $ running a safe boost with age of motor ? unless this is second engine ? 105 would have flogged it before. I think I will install a 1HDFTE to my 105 one day, after watching this 👍

    • @WillsLandcruiser
      @WillsLandcruiser  3 года назад +5

      The FTE’s handle boost incredibly and can handle tonnes of power. They’re so different to the 1HZs or Nissan equivalent TD42s. The piston heads are thicker, 24 valve, factory turbo, everything is just build to handle a lot more power. Would love to put an FTE in my 105 too! Making the most of the 1hzt at the moment 😂

      @WillsLandcruiser  28 дней назад

      Hey mate, first place I would start now is changing injector lines and changing/upgrading injectors to make sure you’ve got good fuel flow. Then as far as mods go, the unichip is a really great place to start if you just want a simple addition for more power. If you’re chasing big numbers then go for a bigger turbo as well. Go check out my latest videos on converting my 105 to an FTE. I do all the mods to that build

    This is a great improvement power wise but it is going to come at a cost maintenance wise. Never miss a oil and filter change. The extra soot in the oil will increase wear. But nice power just the same. The amount of fuel being used for that power is at the top end of the air fuel ratio as evident from the smoke on acceleration. I'd be interested in a follow up video to hear what changes you have noticed to the fuel economy when driving normal. Tnx

      @@WillsLandcruiser Can confirm it does not stand for factory turbo. Toyota's of that generation either had "G" type (more performance focused degrees of the valves) heads, and "F" type heads (more for economy and drivability). For example a 2JZ-GTE, versus 1HD-FTE. T meant turbo, and E for electronically fuel injected

      Well looking at the dyno sheet now, the torque curve is on the downhill after 2400 revs, and peak power is around 2900. So there’s no need to accelerate past 3,000 revs. Diesels are also designed to be low revving engine. They work with big torque and there’s no need for it to be screaming

    if you want to accelerate FAST, you need to rev till the end of the rom range. this is probably not below 4000 rpm.
    whatever people on the net call it, most have no clue, it is the WHEEL TORQUE that let's you accelerate. not engine torque! so it is times diff + times gearing.
    = the lower gear will always accelerate faster, even if the engine @ higher rpm has lower torque.

      Putting an engine under a lot of load really fast like we did here in these videos is always going to cause soot when you have a large amount of fuel and a big turbo with a fair delay in spool time. The soot has nothing to do with the tune, and everything to do with how we were driving it. Fact. In daily driving there isn’t a hint of soot in sight
