Jeff Beck Forever

I don't own anything Видеоклипы
Still so painful knowing Jeff 💔 is gone.I met him 3 months before he passed. Looked great and played better than ever. So cruel he is gone.
You must have met him in NY/East Coast? I saw Beck/Depp in Port Chester NY ( my 4th JB show) . So sad - his passing. JB and Depp are on Ian Hunters new cd- " Defiance 2- Fiction"- which I'm getting Friday!!!!
A terrible shock.
Jeff the one and only best guitarist ever
Beck is a monster player. Always an innovator and some of what he does, no one else can do. Beck was so very unique. Glad I got to see him three times, twice close up which was very important because he is doing so much with his hands that goes unnoticed if you aren't close up. One of my all-time favorites.
I saw one of the L.A. shows it was the 1st of 6 times I saw Jeff G.O.A.T.....GONE 2 SOON...R.I.P.
So sad he's gone. He was just so awesome it can't be put into words. I followed him since the Yardbirds.
I cried for (3) hours .
now I smile for eternity .
well done sir .
I cried for half an hour, then 20 minutes the next day, and a lot of welling up in between. I'm over the immediate shock. It's still horrible but am just celebrating him. I have seen masses of comments and tributes with grown men speaking of having cried. My soul understands this.
@@sporkfindus4777You're pathetic.
😎👍✝️Rest easy Jeff, we definitely will miss you. Thank you for sharing your talents with this world! Have fun jammimg with Jimi, Moonie, Bonzo, Jaco, Cozy, Peart, etc
Saw JB after the release of BBB and again following Wired when he joined Jan Hammer who was the back up band and killed it for another 2 hours of nirvana...caught this tour with Simon saw him again 3 times on the SRV double bill and then was lucky enough to catch him with Jennifer Batten(another JB) twice....he was absolutely ridiculously better every time...this man took the guitar places its never been...There and Back you might say...and never will go again...he never stopped innovating, never stopped pushing his limits, the limits of what was conceivable, possible on a six string...he absolutely wrenched sounds forth from a piece of wood that will never be heard again... except when the listener is fortunate enough to listen to these gems saved for eternity...an alien technique unknown to any other mere mortal on this planet, he will never be equalled...never bested.
The best forever ♾️ rest easy JB, we will never forget you.
I’ve seen Jeff Beck several times, but I made it a point to make sure to catch him before his 2001 tour ended , so I charged a plane ticket to NYC and saw him for his 2 dates at Roseland Ballroom . My first time in NYC , ever , and the shows were excellent
I was at one of those Roseland shows in 2001.
@@tonymasiellovids the drummer was a sight to behold- dude was playing some incredible percussion, but looked like a freaking 16th Century Monk doing it!
This is so great…I only saw Jeff once, mid nineties,….what I will never forget is his tone, of the hundreds of shows I’ve seen he had the best guitar tone bar none…and that is from his hands and touch, just amazing, like a choir of angles from heaven with just any one random note, lyrical, passionate, articulate, unique, and huge….recordings and you tube reproduction will never come close….those who have seen him live I’m sure will agree
I went to the SF shows, Beck blew everybody away.
That's exactly what I though. Jeff blew everybody away. And there were some BIG names that night. In fact, I went to see Jimmy Page and came away a Jeff Beck fan.
Oh my godness!
My tears...!
With my mum i saw this VHS Video in the 80s.I was a 19 years old...
The best I've ever heard, and I've heard some good ones.
There & Back What a killer album and line up..mo,jeff,tony& simon.
Thanks for sharing, nice to see the performances from different shows. I made it to the Cow Palace concert. I’d strongly suspected Jeff was my favorite electric guitarist. He sealed the deal that night.
After he passed I counted up the times I was fortunate to see him live: 19 concerts over 50 years beginning in August 1972 with the second Jeff Beck Group and ending in 2022 on his final tour. All eras of his live bands except the first Jeff Beck Group bc I didn’t drive yet -and of course the Yardbirds. Still a decent amount of shows considering he took a section of the 1980s and most of the 90s off…or at least didn’t tour. Thankfully he toured regularly again in the new millennium (actually beginning in 1999) and we fans were blessed with many chances to experience his live magic as he amazingly played better than ever and continued to move the needle on what was possible on guitar.
I still think of him every day. For me, the last guitar hero. RIP
Those are lovely comments and I’m thinking how blessed you are to have seen so many concerts spanning many years. But you got to the concerts so you made your own blessings with your own effort ❤🎶
I was at the Cow Palace show as well. Beck's set was the best.
This is a treasure. Jeff was such a gentlemen besides being the most creative guitarist ever.
I love you Jeff, changed my whole view of all music and my playing forever... Heaven is blessed to have him🎸
Classical and rare.. when the artist is Jeff Beck, needs no more words to express ❤️☮️🎵. Thanks 🙏 for sharing MLU!
I had a cassette tape of this that was circulating my first year in college and it had excerpts from most of the sets in this show. At that point I was pretty familiar with Clapton, Winwood and Page, but it was this set that really made the biggest impression on me.
❤perso,je trouve que le ROI du concert est bel et bien le meilleur et guitariste c'est comme si c'était le sens et le pilier ❤merci pour la vidéo ❤😊😢❤chapeau !!!
I was fortunate enough to see this three nights in a row. Amazing show. The finale was everyone on stage, playing leadbelly’s good night Irene.
I was at the Madison Square Garden show. Outstanding!!
I thank you for recording this concert. It’s so good to see Jeff live and even singing!! Hi Ho Silver lining all the way through ! (about 18 mins in). Now his voice is more precious than ever and not just the voice of his guitar ❤
I was fortunate to attend the epic ARMS concert at Madison Square Garden, to see the 3 guitar gods play under one roof. It was definitely life changing when I saw Jeff play live for the first time. I couldn't believe the tone and intonation he could conjure from his axe. Thank you Jeff for all you did with your incredible talent.
Simon /Jeff combo is my favorite drummer with Jeff beck, just amazing! Ok Vinni second....
Vinnie just doesn't look the part :D
@@panicandfreakout-all the chops &more IMHO..I loved all Beck's drummer's,they all bring something unique and wonderful to the table,& as much as love Simon..he's not even in my top 3 studio drummer's
Vinnie
Cozy
Richard Bailey
Narada
Simon
Mick
Terry
Moon the Loon
Jan Hammer
He’s had great drummers, but c’mon man, give it up for Richard Bailey.
First of all jeff is the 🐐 and vinnie just may be the goat, But we are arguing over ferrari's lamborghini's and bugatti's here. 😂
I was only 23 when this was filmed and a better concert than these I have never seen. I am 64 now and I listen to Jeff almost every day! Simon Phillips is one of the great drummers Jeff worked with. He is peerless. He is also the drummer with Jeff and Eric Clapton on the Amnesty gig - check out Cause We've Ended As Lovers on that one. I was a drummer back then but did not know who Simon Phillips was until I heard him in 1984 on a Nik Kershaw album. I saw Jeff twice in Milan in 1989 and he was fierce. This ARMS concert is special because Jeff is so relaxed. He even pulls off a show stopping Hi Ho Silver Lining (which Jeff hated) and check out Simon's drum solo. To say there has never been a better guitarist is to state the obvious, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page... the three Jays. Jeff went on getting better and better. Check out "18" with Johnny Depp. It will become a classic in time along with Wired and Blow by Blow. On this set The Pump and People Get Ready stand out. I am always shocked when I meet someone who loves music and doesn't know who Jeff Beck is (or was). If you love the trumpet there is Miles Davis, if you love harmonica there is Stevie Wonder. But if, as I do, you love the guitar... there is only one guy.. Jeff.
I agree absolutely, and me listen to Jeff almost every day...he is amazing, incredible ,best guitarist ever...I`m very ,very sad that JB past away...😭🤘💔💯
Same same here, didn't turn 23 until later in the summer. Drove down to Cow Palace from Reno, NV. Was a great show and Jeff Beck was the highlight for sure.
I have this still on vhs
..R.I.P. Jeff...
Just simply the best 💙 thank you Jeff for giving us the eternal gift of your music!
Had the pleasure of seeing the "Cow Palace" Show/I still have my tee-shirt to this day 🎸 ⛅ 🎸
I was there too. Good for us!!
Used to love watching this on VHS back I the 80s. Some of my favorite Jeff Beck playing is here.
Wow , thanks for this upload ; incredible .
Jeff Beck was my all-time fav of all GUITARISTS EVER in all the UNIVERSES .
Grateful that i got to meet him and hang out with him for a short time back around 1997 or 96 at the Tower Theater , Upper Darby , PA .
He is the most MAGICAL and DELIGHTFUL person i've ever met ever .
But i always thought that i would meet him again someday ( and thought more recently that time would be within the next 2 or 3 yrs but ... )
May he FLY HIGH with the ANGELS ENTERTAINING THEM ALL .
Lucky you.
Magyckal Soulful Genius.
I saw him in 1980 at the UMASS Curry Hicks Cage. A high school friend of mine was doing a story on him for the school newspaper and we had front row seats I couldn't hear for days best ever
HEY YOU , Wathever who you are = Thanks a lot for sharing this ! Amazing stuff !!!
my pleasure. cheers!
Gracias chromedreamer por compartir a este musico inolvidable me duele su muerte tengo 66 años y lo he escuchado toda mi vida y aun sigo haciéndolo..Te mando un saludo y un abrazo desde Bs As Capital de Argentina mi pais.
Went to the show at the Cow Palace, had no idea there was any recordings available, thank you for posting. The show featured Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton as well...as memory recalls and this video confirms Jeff Beck was on his game for these shows...
Oh my this is wonderful. He sang Hi Ho Silver lining at the Albert Hall at thi concert 🎵 I just think it’s so uplifting and great to hear Jeff singing live especially since his death I feel this is a special and happy sound. I hope these concerts are put to CD so we can buy them. Wonderful. Thank you for posting up and thank you to whoever recorded it 🙏🙏🙏🎶🎵❤️
As a guitarist I stand in amazement with Jeff Beck's magic across the fret board, what more could I say that hasn't already been said......
🎸 🎵 🎶🎶 ll :
Chromedreamer i had the distinct pleasure of seeing Mr Beck 7 times, the first was with SRV @ the Worcester centrum 89? still a top 10 show out of 700+..also blessed to see SRV 7 times( last was JB show)& last time I saw JB was with Vinnie & Tal @Foxwoods new music hall 20th row ctr.. similar to Ronnie Scott show..top 5..thanks for uploading,i missed the ARMS NY show my buddies went to.. thought i'd never see him ..RIP🎸🕊️🤟
Thanks for this!! Been looking everywhere for the full version
Jeff beck was an alien, from another dimension like Holdsworth, Shawn lane, Hendrix, Eddie and others of the same kind.
Yes ...but nobody was of this kind...ever ♾️
Omg ❤17yo first time San Francisco 5 row mushroom memory 😢
80年代のジェフのステージを見ることができ嬉しいです。動画UPありがとうございます。2000年以降と違ってまたいい感じ!
The first time I saw Jeff, it was this tour at the L.A. Forum. I had just recently discovered Jeff by trying to research my hero Page's work before Zeppelin. But I was unable to find any Page era Yardbirds, but I found Yardbirds featuring Jeff Beck, and I had just bought Blow by Blow. I loved it, but it was still very new to me. But I was there to see my HEROES! The Page from Zeppelin and the Clapton from Cream! Oh man, based on my expectations, I could have been really disappointed, because both Page and Clapton were so "messed up" that they sucked. But in between them, Mr. Beck blew me away with such an incredible performance, it more than made up for my disappointment with the other 2! He did "Goin' Down" with Paul Rodgers on vocals, and Jeff did things on the guitar that just aren't humanly possible. The very next day, I ran to the record store to buy the Jeff Beck Group "Orange" album. As fantastic as that studio version is, it's pale in comparison to what I heard and saw that night!
One thing that surprises me about this video is that he pretty much plays a Strat the entire time at each show. But he did not do that when I saw him. He may have played a Strat at the beginning of the set (I can't remember), but he played "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" on what I at first thought was a Les Paul, because it had humbuckers, but I think it was the actual "Tele-Gib" that Seymour Duncan had built for him (he used it on the studio version of "Cause We've Ended as Lovers") and traded for Beck's Esquire from his Yardbirds days. Anyway, I think once he put it on for that song, he just finished the whole set with it, because that's what he was playing for "Going Down", which was the finale. The guy never needed a whammy (it just makes it a little bit easier)! I saw him and heard him do it, and THAT is what left my jaw on the floor...
Now that’s a F’ in band! Bass man is awesome Simon is just ridiculous wow
Uma pena que o grande guitarrista partiu. Cedo, pois estava ainda ativo e tocando bem. Imaginei que não fosse esta fatalidade, JB ainda viveria mais anos. Obrigado por manter a memória dele, sempre trazendo estas jóias inéditas. Sucesso e um feliz ano
Yes, I echo your thoughts
ジェフが歌ってるの初めて聴いた〜❗
I agree that it probably wasn't you! Rock on!
I like how clean this video is, AI post? Jeff's a legend!
No AI. They filmed it professionally for VHS release, later released in vcd/dvd...
I was there. Drove down from Dean Jr College, where I was a freshman. So wild to see these performances on RUclips. I have vivid memories of that concert. Eric clapton played. The crazy thing was Jimmy Page. They left an empty spotlight on the stage at Madison Square Garden for maybe 10 minutes before he walked into it. The crowd was going insane and when Jimmy finally appeared it seemed like the roof just got blown right off the building, the crowd was so amped up. Then Jimmy played out of tune, and he wasn't very good. Paul Rodgers sang with him. Ron Wood and Bill Wyman played. Joe Cocker. I remember it all.
this is my favorite Jeff Beck concert on YT
Don't forget the rest of the band:
Keys (stage right) - Chris Stainton
Percussion - Ray Cooper
Vocals - Jeff Beck (!!) on Going Down
x simon phillips on drums. I love to seeThe line up of jeff terry and tony.
"The Pump" is phenomenal. Nobody beats JB.
God CAN sing
Indeed
Definitely this is Not in the US- as Jan Hammer replaced Tony Hymas. Joe Cocker replaced Stevie Windwood and Paul Roger's was added. Ron Wood made an unannounced appearance although he is pictured on the bootleg Tshirt. So we had 2 members of the Jeff Beck Group, 2 Small Faces, 3 Stones ( 1/2 the Forthcoming Firm). I used to boast " It cost me $20.00 for 17 Artists. Lanes MS went away when his lead teeth fillings were replaced by plastic ones but he died of complications. The videocassette and dvd aren't available from this show and there wasn't an official LP release. I know about the Radio Station Only Release- have it on cassette. I love my Dec 8, 1983 show. 2 year anniversary of Lennons death so Cocker thought it would be appropriate to perform With a Little Help From My Friends- s 10:35 ince Jimmy Page played on his 1968 version! Btw- this concert on YT was shown in clubs in 1983. I wonder if this performance here is Dec 8??btw- this was my first concert where I saw " the big screen" on stage
First saw Jeff 1966 Yardbirds having a rave up 🇬🇧🎙️🐦 Sactowny Ca.
It's pretty funny to hear Beck perform "Hi Ho Silver Lining", a really dumb song that he apparently hated when he was talked into including it on his first sol album.
EXCELLENT !
PEOPLE GET READY, dedicated to John Lennon.
I was at the Cow Palace (San Francisco) concert. Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. I love all three, but Jeff blew the others away. It wasn't even close.
🎸🎸🎸🎶🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏👏👏
Detrás de Eric y Jimmy estaba un Jeff Beck, luego detrás de un Jeff Beck no quedó ni la sombra de un Eric y de un Jimmy.
🌹🏁🎸🏁🌹

Mr. Jan Hammer in the 2nd and 3rd set

Setlist? Band?
Added in the description. thanks.cheers
Thanks very much for this@@chromedreamer
Who’s the guy in the blue coat singing on Hi Ho Silver Lining? His name escapes me. Hyphenated name, before hyphenated names were a thing.
Andy Fairweather Low
Jan Hammer played keyboards...not shown here?
Tony Hymas played keys on the Royal Albert Hall (the first one) segment.
The dude wearing the keytar brother clearly obvious
This bass player just isn't doing it for me. Maybe it's the old low fi TV sound.
What was the opening track?
Star Cycle from There & Back album by Jeff Beck
@@chromedreamer thank you
Simon
What's painful is the ad right before the end...big Jeffery fan but I'm outta here
@markbrennan8033 what ad?
@@chromedreamer there were two ads that I saw one right before the first and second pieces
@@markbrennan8033 I didn't place any ads nor I post video for money. It must be autogenerated RUclips ads. Usually appear after few tracks but they also appear between longer videos, which is ridiculous I agree with you there... Cheers!
Definitely a Blues guitarist in every way. No Rock going on, but Blues was his thing, not Rock. He owes those Colored guys some money.
Who are you talking about?
@@claudioperotti9439 -- Any random Colored guy who picked up a guitar or put strings on a cigar box and made what they thought was music. I always thought it was lame, but White guys think it's awesome and copied it. So they, including Beck, owe those guys money.
