We've been twice, it's Amazing! We were on a road trip going up to South Dakota and over to Yellowstone. We almost skipped it the 1st time we went because we were eager to get to Cody, Wyoming, but decided to go ahead in case we may regret it later. And we would have! When you are driving to it, you have no idea how awesome it is til you get there. Love the video, Josh!!! You and Pops are the best❤
I went there once in the middle of summer and it was packed with tourists . It’s pretty awesome to see, I’m glad I went out of the way to see it. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Growing up I thought it was fake, I wanted to see for myself now I get to see through you as you take us on a wonderful adventure Thanks for sharing Josh and Pops
Thanks for this wonderful video, one of your best yet. Often thought about visiting Devil's Tower, now I'm determined to make the journey from the UK to see this amazing natural monument. Thanks for your continued inspiration of places to visit, in California and beyond.
I’m glad you got to visit devils tower. I was visiting friends in Gillette WY and back then in 1990 I had never heard of it. It was amazing. I went on the same trail you did with a friend who is in a wheelchair. The relatively flat trail was great for that. But we couldn’t do the full path but a decent amount with the help of friends and her manual chair. It’s so worth visiting.
I loved visiting this place. I would have liked to spend more time. I didn't even visit the gift shop which I kicked myself for. I really like how they respect the native traditions and their space around the site.
The Prarie Dogs can be seen on the left as you enter the park, driving up to the visor center. There is a self guided walking path at the parking lot for The Wind Circle Sculpture across from the picnic area. You can capture the Prarie Dogs in the foreground of the Tower.
Great video! I was there in September 2022. I also went early in the morning (first car in parking lot, and I also highly recommend getting there early). I did the Red Bed Trail first, and it was absolutely amazing. Then I did the Tower Trail. Thanks for taking me back!
We love Devils Tower--so unique and definitely a National Monument we would recommend visiting. Your video brought back good memories. My wife and daughter stayed at the visitor's center while my son and I did the trail.
My husband & I went there & stayed in a local town @ a bnb back in 1982. We got there in November & it started snowing. It was so beautiful! We were on our way from RI to Washington state.
WOW, that's amazing! Thanks so very much for all the pics, the background info, and so many facts. I'd love to go there. Thank you, Josh and Pops. You NEVER disappoint. 🛣 🖼🤗🌞🎊
Hello from Australia. I was there in 1994. Doing a Parks and Canyon lands tour. Started in Denver, loved Devil's Tower, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Utah, Grand Canyon, finishing in Las Vegas. Loved the people and cute animals. Cheers.
This place is truly breathtaking. We were here earlier this year. I was in awe from start to finish. A highlight from our 2500 mile roadtrip. Great video.
Amazing how times change...What would have been scary once turned into a quiet & buzzing place teeming with fauna & flora, notwithstanding the stunning panorama. Thank you for another great gem!
We visited SD and Devils Tower in 2019 and again in 2022. Our last hike around in 2022 we carried binoculars and found the ladder! There's not much left of it, which is why it's getting so hard to find. I'm looking forward to your SD road trip video(s). We really enjoyed our trips there.
We stopped and stayed at the KOA right outside the park entrance which gives you excellent views of the Devil's Tower right from your campsite. The area outside the monument is also quite beautiful.
We also saw a fox when we visited. We were watching the prairie dogs and all of a sudden they started making noises because they had spotted a fox. We also saw people rapelling down the Devil's Tower while we were there. Such a cool place!
Devil's Tower is so near so many awesome places in South Dakota! Make time to visit the national parks & monuments in that area as well as the Mammoth Site in Hot Springs, SD. Each is unique and worth a visit!
Awesome that you can spend time with your dad on these videos, my wife and I just got back after spending over 3 weeks through Sioux Falls and the Badlands , and devils tower, yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons this past September, and even though this was a long trip enjoyed seeing your longer videos of spending more time in more of these sites that we did not have time for, just a heads up I love my wife , but when traveling with guys , such as my brothers we can skip over the gift shops, which the gals like shopping for grandchildren 😳😳😎
Devil's Tower has been long on my list of places to visit, also. And I'm now out west, but about 12 hrs away, so I'm trying to find time to get there. Amazing video! Glad you and pops enjoyed yourselves!
That looks wonderful!! I love watching your adventures but today you threw a curveball by posting on a Thursday evening. I’m so used to watching on Sundays, but this is great the more the merrier.
Wonderful video of Devils Tower! I’m sure Native Americans have a Sacred name for it! Wonder if they ever climbed it! Glad you and Pops came to it! Loved that younger pic of Pops! Thank you so much! Loved it!❤️😀🇺🇸🌏🚙
Thanks for your video. I am glad you mentioned Close Encounters of the Third Kind movie. I was going to mention it if you didn’t lol. Looks like a great place to go. Thanks again.
Great video. Thank you for sharing. The vlogger Jacob the Carpetbagger stayed in one of the camping cabins at the KOA campground and they showed the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind at an outside screen with the mountain in the background.
If you ever get the chance, you and your pops should check out Old Forge in the Adirondacks, it is a beautiful town with great hikes in trails, and the leaves are beautiful in the fall!
The guy who started that Robert zephyr is a moron. He thinks mountains are ancient dead animals. Only people who have taken to much acid would believe him.
HELLO GUYS BEAUTIFUL VIDEO I LOVE WHEN THE TWO OF YOU ARE TOGETHER. THE TRAIL LOOKED WELL MAINTAINED .WHAT THEY CALL A WINDOW LOOKS VERY SHALELY WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN WHY IT WOULD PEEL OFF THANK YOU LARRY FROM LONG ISLAND
Anyone in the area should stop at the museum in Sundance, Wyoming. They had pictures and newspaper articles of a man that parachuted down to the top of the tower. Unfortunately the pilot dropped the supplies and ropes off target. The climber was unable to climb down...... I could go on but the story is fascinating of his rescue.
@6:18 my four year old changed the fire danger to red without us knowing. We asked her, “what are doing over there?”, “oh just playing with the colors.” 😊 KIDS! Had to inform the Ranger bc we didn’t know the actual level for the day was.
On Tuesday August 20th, this area was hit by a severe hailstorm. The storm produce baseball size hail stones, that caused significant damage across the area.

That is an ancient tree stump from millions and millions of years ago. No one can tell me otherwise. That is what I think it is and I'm not changing my mind.
$25 is a bit high for a park that only offers a short walking trail. I can understand charging that for a climbing permit. The park service is being greedy.

I agree 100%, we almost skipped it and I am so glad we didn't!
Wow! Awesome video, Josh! I've never seen the Devil's Tower, but I'm adding it to my bucket list. Great video quality!
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words and I hope you can visit as well
You never stop wowing us. Incrediiiiiible. You and pops truly just make things awesom
So glad you enjoy the videos!
I went there once in the middle of summer and it was packed with tourists . It’s pretty awesome to see, I’m glad I went out of the way to see it. Great video, thanks for sharing.
I have been twice. It's such a quiet country. Close Encounters of the Third Kind fan 😃
Another favorite is Crater Lake.
Heck yes, such a great movie!
This is definitely my favorite national monument I have visited! Went here on a trip to the badlands and the black hills region- June 2020.
It is so incredible to see!
This means something. This is important!!
I had to rewatch the movie after pops posted about here… didnt know mom from a Christmas story was in it 😁
I love the movie so much!
Loved being there as well! So glad you got to go! America’s First National Monument! Must see!
Glad you got to see it! Such an epic place
@@ThroughMyLens totally! I heard a big storm rolled through there this week and completely damaged the Visitor Center (huge amounts of hail)
Growing up I thought it was fake, I wanted to see for myself now I get to see through you as you take us on a wonderful adventure Thanks for sharing Josh and Pops
It really does look fake!
Enjoyed your wonderful visit. Been there but really nice to re- visit with you n pops
Thanks for this wonderful video, one of your best yet. Often thought about visiting Devil's Tower, now I'm determined to make the journey from the UK to see this amazing natural monument. Thanks for your continued inspiration of places to visit, in California and beyond.
Very kind of you to say! Pair it with a South Dakota road trip, I will have a video on that soon

Good to know, I was wondering about a wheelchair on the trail. I am glad you got to see it as well!
Good to see you and pops out seeing America again!
We have so many videos to share from our summer trip!
I loved visiting this place. I would have liked to spend more time. I didn't even visit the gift shop which I kicked myself for. I really like how they respect the native traditions and their space around the site.
I agree, I would have liked to spend the night and see the stars too
I JUST went there on the 10th of August!
So cool! We went in early May

I will have to go back and do the other trail!
I've been hoping someone would go to Devils Tower. Ever since the movie, I've wanted to see it close up. Thanks ,you did a great job.
Glad you liked the video, it is an epic spot!
We love Devils Tower--so unique and definitely a National Monument we would recommend visiting.

@@ThroughMyLens I had been back & forth 6x in 1 year! lol Navy.
Moved to Wyoming in 2022 and this was a great place to visit. Of all the places I visited in Wyoming, only Lake Marie was more impressive than this.
I've always wanted to visit Devil's Tower, ever since I saw "Close Encounters"! Definitely on my bucket list.
I agree, it was one of my bucket list items as well
We visited in 2021 - it was incredible!!
WOW, that's amazing! Thanks so very much for all the pics, the background info, and so many facts. I'd love to go there. Thank you, Josh and Pops. You NEVER disappoint.
🛣 🖼🤗🌞🎊
No problem, thanks for watching the videos!
Thank you!
A beautiful spot, we loved it! We also loved being able to hear some climbers perfectly as they were about halfway up and we were on the trail!
Very nice! It kind of gives Yosemite vibes with that big tower 😊
I agree!

For sure, thanks for watching!
We just returned from there in June.

Our family had a great fascinating time at devil’s tower in the 1980s. I don’t remember that there was a fee then. Thank you for sharing

I saw a lot of porcupines on that trail in 83.
Wyoming is a magical place
It really is!
It couldn't be more obvious that this is the remains of a once great tree.
You're kidding I hope. Definitely not a tree!
First thing that came to mind was the theme from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." 😂
Great overview, as usual

Im here before the giant tree conspiracy theorists.
haha it does look like a large tree base 😂
The real big petrified tree from an ancient forest 🌳
The guy who started that Robert zephyr is a moron. He thinks mountains are ancient dead animals. Only people who have taken to much acid would believe him.

I wonder how many people free climbed that to the top and survived!
Ya, that would be crazy for sure!
Josh! Would you please share your road trip route? How can you be in the NYS last weekend and now in Wyoming? lol
its probably been said already.... but this a very very old TREE trunk
That would be so cool
What month were you guys there? And how cold is it since you are both in your jackets.
We visited in mid-May
Any plans to take the show overseas like the Giza Pyramids or Mt Kailash?
Would love to do that in the future!
Did the visitor center have any information about how this rock was really formed? Like it might be similar to Devils post pile in Mammoth CA?
