i must say found this by chance but............this score from a movie past is my number one. they just don't do scores like this any more. gives me chills.
You're right. Can't believe they'd finish this song without those thunderous cymbals, just not the same without them, I'll give this concert a B+ not an A because of the cymbals missing.
this movies is one of those few action adventure movies where the music becames one more character, and thats due to the genius of Basil Poledouris and John Milius to create this amazing Soundtrack
This was not a bad movie. In fact, it is my opinion that this is one of the greatest films of all time. Looking at the previews for the reboot, I'm quite certain it will be a disappointment. It was not action that sold this movie--it was the fact that it is its own genre. I'm not even sure "fantasy" is an accurate way to classify the masterpiece. Thanks for posting this video. Truly an amazing song; one among many. This song, and everything to do with it, is art at its finest.
I noticed this long ago, but this movement from Poledouris's work is so similar to a movement of Holst's The Planets, specifically a section of the Movement Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity. It's amazing to see how many composers in the 70's were influenced by this amazing composer's work. For reference: ruclips.net/video/Gu77Vtja30c/видео.html, listen to timestamp 1:45 of the link for the striking similarity.
Those who find this particular music mesmerizing or hypnotizing are not mistaken. IT looks as if Poledouris borrowed inspiration from Maurice Ravel's Bolero. Bolero is one of those musical pieces that at the end will make u tremble, yet craving for more.
Hey, this is really awesome and a nice tribute. Poledouris used to be a real master. Thanks for the upload, great quality. The orchestra did a nice job, well conducted by Paul Chiang.
@silvermaggot . i too absolutely adore this movie. i have the soundtrack and love it. and all my friends think i`m crazy. Arnold got a bad review!!!??? he played a BARBARIAN for god`s sake! he was supposed to be dumb. d`ah!
Conan the Babarian? Wouldn't that be when he climbed into the Tower of the Elephant? An early story, and one of the best. ...where the thieves of the east held carnival by night...
@silvermaggot Sword & Sorcery movies don't generally do that well. A small niche, the only films in the genre that did well were the Lord of The Rings trilogy. a shame. The 2011 Conan was a very good film. It however did not feature as remarkable a score as the 1982 counterpart. How unfortunate it was critiqued by those who were incapable of appreciating sword & sorcery. I hope you find it enjoyable!
@Spookimitsu i dont think conan the barbarian 2011 was that good...it was too cliche...the actors did not have an ancient barbaric accent and of course the music was not as legendary as this
All these bystanders that never saw the movie are only getting half the experience out of this 💯
"So this is paradise"
"What is best in life?"
"To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women."
"hot water, good dentishtry and shoft lavatory paper"
yeah that's evil
😅❤️✊

Genius....
They did well. Basil was to me the best modern composer of this type of music

"So this is Paradise." I love the performance.
Love this song and this is my favorite movie soundtrack of all time. The one major thing missing in this live version are the cymbals crashing....
You're right. Can't believe they'd finish this song without those thunderous cymbals, just not the same without them, I'll give this concert a B+ not an A because of the cymbals missing.
Don't forget about the vocals.
Good For Soul ...
I would love to see this live.

The genius is Poledouris, the film could have been a great one, if not given to direct to the "Red Dawn" director...
I listen to this at least every other day. Classic, timeless music and brings back memories of seeing this movie at 8 years old.
this sound is magic...

Can't those guys just shut up and let us enjoy this beautiful music ?!
Fã brasileiro dessa trinha sonora do conan
If I went to an outdoor festival and heard this song being played by an orchestra, I would lose my shit. That's so awesome!
Those who find this particular music mesmerizing or hypnotizing are not mistaken. IT looks as if Poledouris borrowed inspiration from Maurice Ravel's Bolero. Bolero is one of those musical pieces that at the end will make u tremble, yet craving for more.
Absolutely Bolero-esque. Perhaps, dare I say, to a more soaring degree. Loved this since I was 8. Still gives me strength and resolve at 49.
Killer Fantastic Work!
That was AWEsome!
celestial !!
Thankyou Paul Chiang and Love for Greece! Amazing video

lindo demais ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Other than forgeting to use those big cymbals at the end, it was a really good rendition.😊👍
YOU!!!
stop talking, listen the music!... for this reason I hate free concerts... Great performance anyway!
that little girl knew this music was from conan. She's doing the thulsa doom (2 snakes facing each other) hand gesture.
OH DAGOTH!!! GOD OF DREAMS!!!!! ACCEPT THIS SACRIFICE!!!
what no footage from the scene in the background...lol..wonder why
@silvermaggot . i too absolutely adore this movie. i have the soundtrack and love it. and all my friends think i`m crazy. Arnold got a bad review!!!??? he played a BARBARIAN for god`s sake! he was supposed to be dumb. d`ah!
Goosebumps at 3:13 ... bigger goosebumps at 3:21
What a privilege
Underrated song, wish I could hear this by a bigger sting section .
Awesome show! Does anyone knows where and when did it occur?
Conan the Babarian? Wouldn't that be when he climbed into the Tower of the Elephant?
An early story, and one of the best.
...where the thieves of the east held carnival by night...
oh no... they are trying to awaken DAGOTH!
@silvermaggot

"So this is pardise."
Conan
Hope no one turned into a snake this time.
love the part when she is crawling on the floor and lighting the tapastry on fire.........
Why is no one dancing?! I would have stirred the entire crowd to dance and celebrate together. Even for an encore!
Do you think that little girl remembers or not? That is the question of life......
Would have been awesome if a large dude in a leather outfit got up on stage, pointed at the conductor and shouted "YOU!"
I wonder why they're accenting that F so heavily, it wasn't so in the original recording.
really good but why did he rush them through
+
where is this?
Thulsa Doom....partied so hard he turned into boa!
"Libations all around for everybody".
Gorgeous decadence

@cHeLiosss BAD MOVIE?????? O YOU GOT TO BE ONE OF THOSE GUYS WHO ENJOY SEEN THE JUSTIN BIEBER MOVIE AND THAT CAIND OF CRAP
Actually Conan was quite smart, a master tactician in warfare, ability to speak multiple languages... i could go on, but what's the point?
Crom
