Wow what a great review. I’m indifferent about Duro and have no place for it in my small max 20-25 bottle collection but you have articulated your experience with it and I totally ‘get it’. I love gaultieri, he is really master of marketing and uses synthetic and modern techniques to portray very ‘human’ things with his sweaty musks and poopy ouds. I watched his documentary and I connected with him, he has no desire to profit or abuse his consumers and he just wants to evoke an emotion, be it positive or negative at least he made you feel something. I’d rather be offended by a gaultieri then feel nothing from a bisch or zerokian fragrance. There’s great parallels between gaultieri and another artist who is the master of marketing, has unbelievable love for his audience and his greatest desire and success is from making you feel something. He also is obsessed with humanity as his instrument, in this instance the human voice and he manipulates it and layers it synthetically kind of like gaultieri does with his perfumes. This is of course, Kanye West. I own baraonda and pardon and I’m desperate for a third one just because my shelf would look so much better with 3 😂😂😂 currently stuck between black Afgano and silver musk. Baraonda is my SOTD. Orto parisi I am much less impressed, seems that latest releases lack creativity and you can call it a DNA but reusing the same materials and ideas across a lot of perfumes does cause a lot of redundancy but I will test them all out of respect and intrigue. What do you think about this, how stercus, boccanera, pardon, black Afgano and terroni have a lot of overlap? Also, Gucci intense Oud is a blatant copy of black Afgano, and guilty absolute is a copy of Duro. Maybe 70% copy? Where do you draw the line for calling it a clone and for it being distasteful. Is it a certain % similarity or are we giving Gucci a get out of jail card because they’re famous and not a typical Middle Eastern clone brand! Sorry for the long comment.
Thanks for the awesome comment, I enjoyed reading it. The great stuff about Gualtieri products is that they are very honest about not being daily perfumy perfumes; they are designed to leave an impact on every wear. Yes, a lot of Gualtieri fragrances have a lot of overlap but you have think about the collection from a normal point of view: most customers will choose 1, maybe 2 and the slight nuances is scent are masked by the mental image your form from the marketing. I have not smelled the Gucci Oud but I don't think Gulty absolute is a clone of Duro, they might have the same-ish vibe and character but the Gucci is much more simple, by design. Duro has the unique spices and it's intentionally ironic.
Duro is simply amazing. It is something recognizable, but unfamiliar at the same time. It's very appealing and addictive. I could wear it pretty much every day. I only wish it came in a 50ml bottle. 30ml is a lot of Nasimatto, but you pay a lot for just the packaging. ❤❤👏👏

Duro is an exceptionally masculine fragrance with a sexy bold vybe. My top 3 in the collection with pardon and baraonda. I have almost completed the line with china white coming in yesterday and hopefully, hindu grass arriving on my birthday next month. Im so in love with the bottle designs, creative smells and extraordinary thought processes going into these fragrances. The only line I've collected all of. I've tried to love the orto parisi line aswell but it doesn't give me the same dopamine hit as the nasomatto line. I keep them on a table right next to my bed and just love smelling all one by one. I feel like I'm going crazy for them, haha. Btw I still want to see your in-depth reviews on fantomas, blamage in full, silver musk, and narcotic v. I know you may not be into those fragrances much but it's so fun collecting them and hope you get to review them one day

Love Duro. Been wearing it over 13 years on my 3rd bottle. I do also have an incredible even more beast mode dupe of this by Montale - Musk Aoud. Alternate between both when going into the office. Perfect professional scent. And funny enough it garners me A LOT of compliments from women at work. “You smell really good, like a man about his business”.

I wear Promise relatively often and it tends to be a sort of crowd pleaser. The other day even a little girl favoured the smell of it. Interesting how our experience differs! About Just, I'm also thinking about blind buying but Vinyl is a close competitor. Have your opinion changed since your sampling Vinyl?
Weir about Promise, most people just don't like it. They do like Oud Aquilaria though, which is similar but smoother... I'll review them together. Vinyl is great but I didn't like the ashtray note. Just is super good, It's mega loud and really intoxicating; going careful on the sprays will probably net insanely good reactions.
I first experienced this in a sample kit with many different scents from different brands. Just sniffing at the atomiser I thought, "this is the worst, I'm definitely not gonna enjoy this, it smells like a douche in a bottle". Then when I tested them all out day by day, by surprise Duro was the clear standout. I bought a bottle and never regretted it.
The format of the Nasomatto 1ml samples are really terrible, but fnet had a promo recently and I bought 5 of each perfume I wanted to try, then put them in a 5ml spray bottle. That’s the only way to properly try their sample: transferring to a sprayer. About the perfumes, I have 4 bottles and 5 or 6 samples, my favorite so far is Fantomas 😊 really weird smell but get me compliments, and I enjoy wearing it!
A couple days ago I got upset after I checked, that you haven't reviewed Duro yet... I'm not upset anymore :) May I ask, what batch number does your bottle have? I've heard that the newer ones have been castrated and don't last so long

I'm never getting through my 100mls of promise, that time was my first real niceh perfume and they had to re-stock the 50mls so I just did it because I liked it a lot and 100mls is waay to much laso because in Italian summer it's borderline aggression
Initially duro smells like a piece of wood, damp wood with some light gasoline on top, my wife smells a tropical fruit from the start, I gotta start wearing it again, I remember not getting much longevity from it and it stayed woody the whole time, extremely realistic 2x4 lol

I don’t wear fragrances for other opinions. The question I first ask is, Do I like the scent? Duro is one of the most masculine and likable scents that I get compliments often by women. I usually like your nose and agree in the art of scents being the main drive, I totally disagree with your opinion that surprised me.

This one is a very ironic take on masculinity, elevated to extreme levels by the genius of Gualtieri. Wearing this caricature with a serious face doesn’t work well for my personality.

to me it's the best not necessarily because of the scent profile but because it encapsulates Gualtieri's style perfectly, top to bottom.

I have both collections completed as well as Allesandro G. All of which I have some I find obtuse and unwearable but art is controversial my friend. Keep up the good bro. My feeling on Duro is it’s boring compared to Nasomatto’s other offerings. Blamage and Sadonaso rule my roost.
