Strong recommendation: Swap out paper strips with glass or ceramic spoon(s). It gives you a clear, unaltered scent, it's reusable, it shows you the oil and how it behaves, and it gives you the neutral longevity of the fragrance. If you spray one or two sprays on the outside curve of the spoon and letting excess fragrance drip off, you can get a nice even and repeatable amount for any fragrance. Great FragTalk. A concept i'm very much a fan of. ❤❤👏🏼👏🏼 I would say it's nice with all the "stay positive" channels out there. But i have to agree with "Robes08" on this; If you're channel is all about positive vibes and positive attitude, you're not going to be a good place to go for real critical reviews. I've noticed that most reviewers with a score system (usually a scale from 0 to 10) , rarely, if ever, go below a 7/10. If the average fragrance you try is a 7 or 8, then the system isn't telling the whole story. If 5 is average, but 95% of everything is 7 or above, the scale is broken. But, it's a good way to give free bottles a better score. If even bad fragrances get a good score, there are no bad fragrances.
@@Roy_Godiksen I’m absolutely not about talking well about everything, that is not the positivity I’m after. Wow, who knew!? You've definitely put a lot of valuable information into this one, Daniel. Also, thank you for sharing those RUclips channels. Q&A : who are your favorite perfumers at the moment? What perfume brands have recently caught your attention? Pretty please consider a discussion (video) on topics like maceration and oxidation (in perfumery), in order to clear some of the general misunderstanding. What would your own perfume creation smell like if you had the resources to make it right now?
What would you suggest for a fairly simple but very high quality citrus scent? Was looking at Perris Monte Carlo Cedro di Diamante & Bergamotto di Calabria
@@EndersFPS those are both super great, Cedro di Diamante is the best fresh citrus frag but has zero longevity. Bergamotto di Calabria kind of rides the Aventus idea but is fresher and less try-hard manly. If you like lemon, Acqua Viva by Profumum Roma is hard to beat. For grapefruit, Kerosene Summer of 84. It really depends what you are looking for as a base, if any.
@@SeldomlyOftenI’ll likely go for Cedro di Diamante then. Not a huge lemon fan unfortunately but when I want a citrus scent I’m not necessarily expecting longevity. Just want that super uplifting experience
@@SeldomlyOften On another note have you ever tried any vintage fragrances? Been on a binge and ended up hunting down Hermes Bel Ami & Dior Homme 2005 silver stem. Very impressed. The rabbit hole is daunting lol but there are clearly some amazing things that are worth hunting down.
@ not really, I’m super ocd about condition of the bottles on most stuff and that really spikes the prices. I might start looking into some but I don’t know where to start and I’m not even that big on designers. Maybe vintage Antaeus…
Adagio to the topic of spraying the fragrances: 1. What our skin will absorb/ "reveal" from a fragrance depends very much on what we eat and drink. Coffee ☕ drinking usually changes the pH of the skin towards more acidic and the same fragrance would smell/project very differently when/if you drink coffee or not. The same applies to smoking and alcohol. Especially. 2. How long a fragrance lasts on the skin depends very much on the type and amounts of fixatives a fragrance has. Natural fragrances like Parfums D'Empire, ORMAIE, Voyages Immaginaires, Soma Parfums, Strange Invisible Perfumes, Abel (just to name a few) usually use much less fixatives (if any in some cases) , ergo the fragrances don't last that long. For me this is not at all a deterrent because I find natural fragrances offer better value and values in other ways and they genuinely fit me way much better
@@legeanflorin thanks for the info! Obviously there are a million factors that influence fragrance wear, I personally don’t drink coffee or alcohol but I’m not sure if people would stop one or the other just to change how a perfume wears 😅
Thanks. 🙏 This was great content with a lot of great information. I love the new content! Any thoughts on fragrance prices and how you navigate them? I find prices only going up-especially if you like extraits. Also not sure if you've smelt the new Dior Homme Parfum 2025, but a lot of people are not happy. Everyone is trying to get back up bottles of the previous version. Thoughts?
@@Dongorgon777 prices is an interesting point of conversation, not sure about my opinion on it as it’s not really something I can do much about. I have not smelled the new DHP 2025, no rush. Ok against hoarding personally but if it were my signature I would probably pick up a couple more bottles.
Thanks for the video! Do you have any rich and opulent pine scents to recommend? Also a different one, do you like H24 herbes vives? I really like it that in your videos you put information about different niche alternatives to the one you are reviewing. Also another thing, bought a sample of Kerosene Follow, and my skin just eats the coffee, all i'm left with is a sweet gingerbread scent, a bit unfortunate.
Pine scents huh, I would definitely look into the exciting offerings from Pineward. I never tried that H24 version, I would love to though. Follow on me is really strong, at little one dimensional (I pretty much only get coffee) but it’s a great rendition.
Would you ever me okay with sharing your entire fragrance collection? I feel like it would make a neat video where you just show ur current collection regardless if it’s ever changing
Q&A: 1) how does your close family/friends react towards your frag hobby, any complaints about Cost or the stinky scents, beast mode causing headaches etc and how do you deal with any of those challenges. 2) people always think about weather/seasonality and where you are going ( date or office or gym) when choosing a fragrance, for better or for worse. Do you think your status at work matters ? Let me explain. If you are the boss in the office you’ll wear black Afgano or a strong leather and if you are a new intern you can’t pull that off at work so you go for something less loud or people pleasing to not get too much attention? You ever considered that? What about your mental mood, if you are feeling very sad or very happy do you find your perfume choices reflect that, so go for a dark scent Or would you use the perfume to try and lift your mood by going for something uplifting and bright. No pressure on answering these, thought I’d ask more about the human factors of the hobby rather than the perfumes themselves to spice things up a bit. Love the new series , keep up the good work.
I did feel like i was being sold to initially by most channels but then i started clicking on other creators. Like you, lol. My world of fragrance is def my fav tho 👀
Q&A: vintage or new ? Some new fragrance are reducing the quality but increasing the price Are we going to appreciate more the vintage or the artisanal house compared to the new generation? @@danteee-ow6sk thanks for the comment and question, this one I think I can answer here as it’s super short: not yet, super duper high on my list for 2025 😉
Not really Q&A but it’s a general discussion question. Scents when you bury your nose close to skin vs in the air. To me there is a tremendous difference in a lot of scents especially in the heavily synthetic ones. Most smell way better in the air than up close and personal. E.g GFS by MFK smells like a horrible synthetic fake mess up close but in the air it smells like magic. I see in your vids you smell the scents you spray up close to your arm especially in first impressions vids. Do you find there to be a substantial difference between skin vs air and have you had any similar experiences? Roja perfumes most of them smell pretty messy and odd when you sniff but in the air it’s like a harmony ( isola blu, elysium, enigma for example)
Animatics are the worst when it comes to this. Shove your nose in, it’s intense and animalic. In the air, not even remotely fecal or pissy. Am I going crazy ?
@@theworkingkitchen7325 great point! I never really stopped to think about that. When I wear stuff, I like smelling up close, it’s just an intensity thing. I don’t wear stuff for others so other than just talking about the general wear experience and sillage, I never stopped to think about this. Interesting topic!
What's the name of the perfumery discounting Kerosene? If I remember correctly you are italian like me but I never found a store selling Kerosene fragrances here in Italy
Concerning skin, it’s funny that I have a male friend that will amplify any floral note on his skin. It has made it difficult for him to test fragrances.
Meaning that he doesn’t like florals? Or just that every frags smells floral? I amplify stuff like vanilla and sweetness, that’s why I don’t enjoy heavy gourmands.
@ He is not a fan of most florals and prefers woody fragrances. I understand that most fragrances have some type of floral in them. However on his skin it’s as if, for the most part, he shops in the women’s department of a perfume counter. He always has to buy samples before purchasing.

And you can also wear most winter perfumes in the heat of summer if you know how, when and where to spray.
@@NiSHAN256 100% agree on those points! I used to have Dior Sauvage Elixir as my signature, all year round!
Love your reviews and videos. What do you think of MFK amyris homme extrait? Have you managed to smell that one
Q&A: Do you think the differentiation between Niche and Designer based on house still makes sense? If not, do you have any other ideas on how to classify fragrances regarding their complexity and character?
@@Zone2enjoyer great question! This might be a whole full fledged topic as I have opinions on this 🙂
I am really glad to have discovered your channel. Your videos are very sysynced and nuanced...A breath of fresh air in fragcom. In the past, I have fomo'd into so many purchases that just collect dust and dent my bank account. I am starting to minimize my collection to only scents that add value and experience and STOP blind buying.
Q&A: How do you budget for fragrance purchases? Does your budget include fragrances?
@@kspeers07 thanks so much go stopping by and the comment. I really like the QnA question, I’ll surely answer that 🙂
Great video, looking forward to more of these. Can you talk about molecule fragrances? Different skin types and stuff like that? When i spray it on my skin its very dark and smokey, almost rubbery, people around me get different things i wonder what that says about us 😂
@@thehomemadedisease9485 thanks, more of these to come!
When you spray what on your skin? molecule fragrances?
I might touch upon the subject quickly 🙂
@SeldomlyOften yeah molecule 01 is supposed to bring out your natural skin scent, right? That's what I always hear. People always have different smells from it, of course it's all body chemistry but I wonder what all that says about us. Idk just an idea 👍
I love the format! Thank you so much for including me, much appreciated :)
Q&A: has to do with the house of Profumum Roma, which I am a huge fan of. Do you have a collection (and maybe I am assuming b/c you are from Rome) of these? [maybe you could rank them or talk about them if you have a few].
@@Eloisescents0309 thank you for all your passion and commitment! I only have 3 from the house as they are pricey and I don’t really go for one-note type of scents. I do plan on getting more 😉
@ they are pricey I agree (but I’ve gotten a few at about half price from discounters)!!
@ difficult to get here at a lower price, cheapest I got mine is around 200ish, which is actually more expensive than buying in Rome (payed 190 in the official boutique for Acqua di Sale).
@@SeldomlyOften Oh so buying in Rome makes sense for you. With the exception of the Amber ones the other two I was able to get for $150 (& no tax) from online Canadian discounters so it sort factors into the purchase decision.
Glad you find some info useful! As per the QnA, I'll try to address some in the next episode :)
Thank you for this.

@ Cedro di Diamante is mega, just re-apply for that crazy effervescent opening 😉
Adagio to the topic of spraying the fragrances:
Q&A: whats your favorite rose oud?
Love this format! Very good content 😉
Thanks so much for the encouragement!
Q&A: where do you buy your perfumes like kerosene, zoologist, etc, in europe?
@kehanymorris9326 thanks for the comment and question, it’s not an easy answer but I’ll try to give my search approach.
Great idea 👌
@@DazSplash thanks! 🙏
I’ll think about it, I don’t like to promote massive collections as a concept. I would need to find the right angle on this 🙂
Q&A: 1) how does your close family/friends react towards your frag hobby, any complaints about Cost or the stinky scents, beast mode causing headaches etc and how do you deal with any of those challenges.
@@theworkingkitchen7325 I really like the questions, I’ll try to answer these quickly as they are bigger topics 🙂

Q&A: vintage or new ?
Some new fragrance are reducing the quality but increasing the price
Are we going to appreciate more the vintage or the artisanal house compared to the new generation?
With new generation I mean even the new amouages compared to the last ones, same for creed and Tom ford

Q&A: Have you tried LE LION by Chanel?

@@TheDzoni1998 you mean Justin? It’s a good channel but I don’t like endless lists with purchase links.
@@SeldomlyOften yes Justin, ok i understand :)
