Ben, you're "monologue rant" at the beginning was fantastic. We are 5 year full time RV'ers and we feel the same way! We had to sink so much $$ in our Motorhome this year I've thought about running it into the ocean... same same. In the end it brings us so much satisfaction though! Great rant! ~Lynette
Your exterior teak will grey immediately unless you put a teak sealer on it. We use Semco (natural color) but there are various brands and colors. Most people let their exterior wood grey. The sealer will keep the color and help protect from the elements (UV and waterproof).. Also, unless the teak is rough, you can use a two part cleaner and brightener instead of sanding. Just so you are not sanding down that wood all the time,. It will help the teak last longer. We use Teka (2 part) but again there are many different brands. Re-doing the black caulking is more challenging. I am tackling that now in our cockpit. Anyway, beautiful job on your boat! Congratulations!
Your attention to detail causes more work but also enhances the outcome, love watching the kids and your interaction with them. This is one of my favorite channels. Thanks again
Finding humor in your struggles rant away! 😱 Congratulations, Ash, on your well-deserved remodel/update. Happy Mothers Day to you and all the other mothers watching. ❤
Loved the video! Ben hugging the toilet and Ashley’s comment, Bodhi being oh so cute on the scooter , and the teak floors look great! And, Ben’s commentary on all things and Ashley’s excitement. Lol I’ll stop , you get it, I loved the video! Happy Mother’s Day Ashley!
Great video and scarily close to the truth about the love / hate relationship! Very entertaining too and nice to see the reality of sailing being shared for everyone... There is very high level of satisfaction when you complete those refurb jobs too and when you are enjoying them in the future, you know that YOU DID IT! Fantastic feeling!!! Eli and John.
Oh my oh my. Nahoa is looking great. You guys have done a great job upgrading, repairing and renovating her. She is looking great and she will be a great boat to have. We love seeing Bodhi learn new things in each episode. Like Willa, we are so thankful to you guys for bringing us along and allowing us into your family and lives. ❤ We are so excited to get underway with ya again. Fish On!
Why does beating the crap out of a sink excite me so much? 😂 I imagine your rewards after all the stress and love will be awesome. The children are as beautiful as ever. Seems like Willa might be growing out of some of her allergies and your attention to her diet of course. Good job Mom and Dad!
Ashley, you have a designer’s eye for colours, textures, and function. Well done with the sneak peak at the end. You both are awesome parents and can’t wait to see the changes to enhance Willa and Bodhi’s lives aboard. Congratulations! Hopefully, the expertise & boat supplies in this port were helpful too. ⛵️🍷🎉
🤣🤣Last year we replaced rigging and engine, went sailing this season and centerboard pennant and dinghy broke. The admiral was this close 🤏to opening the seacocks and just letting her go down. We just hauled out and are doing a new solar arch, along with half a dozen other expensive projects. Jerry can and matches! Ben, how can you be in my head?!?
Renovating & maintaining a house is pretty ridiculous too. I feel your pain. I bought a 1990 Corsair F27 to learn the ropes on & ease into sailing that needs about $15-20K of work. The work you do yourself has really inspired me to give it a “tri”. 😜
What i see in backround the inside is WOW. As usual you show us the hell with boat life 😅😅 Love your videos. Smoode sail. With love to you all from Sweden.
Me after first watching this channel... "Wow, I would love to do that as an adventure in my life - live in the seas and travel everywhere!" Me after a few years watching Nahoa... "Yea, no way I would live on a boat." I love watching this channel and watching their adventures and life but I think I'll just live vicariously through them. Watching all the repairs reminds me of the Ship of Theseus. For those of you reading this and not sure what I mean, the Ship of Theseus is a thought experiment about whether an object which has had all of its original components replaced remains the same object.
Teak has a very high Silica content and unless you are using high quality sandpaper it will go dull very quickly, this applies to cutting tools as well.
Looks amazing guys. Can’t wait for the reveal. Really like the color choices to get rid of the wood stains. Happy Mother’s Day Ashley - the kids are growing up so fast. Beautiful family. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Great to see you guys again. I haven’t seen you since you left the Seychelles. Love the work you’ve done on Nahoa. As you say, yachts eat up a lot of money😢. You can see what we’ve had to do in the short 18 months since we left Thailand by watching our channel - SV Knot So Bad !
This is absolutely hilarious for Mother's Day and I can't wait to see what happens on Father's Day but the remodel looks great so far. And hope there are more backyard adventures of Africa before sailing again. Today's show very interesting.
It looks amazing!! I’d love to see a video of cost breakdown :) we just purchased a 2007 lagoon 380 & are going to make a schedule of up fits depending on cost & immediate needs. So far new rigging is done & new sails in the works. Now I’m dreaming of all these interior projects 😂
Loved the rant. I’ve never cussed nor hurt so much as when I’m working on the boat. The projects that seem the simplest always end up being the never-ending fucking nightmares. Multiple days to get one part off the engine, multiple weeks to fix a leak, multiple months or years trying to get crud out of tanks… why do we do this?
Lol that rant speaks to my soul (we’re splashing today after an unexpected additional month on the hard - also not gonna lie definitely a bit jealous of your ability to hire so many trades, we’ve not gotten a quarter of what you’ve gotten done, but it’s just us two).
Definition of a boat: A hole in the water to throw money into... Used to have a "small" boat that was used for boogie boarding, water skiing and fishing, it was forever requiring to be fed $$$$$. So glad you guys are doing a remodel and upgrade, after all it's your home and you want to be comfortable..
YEAAAHHH BEN....let it all out brother. You have all the rights. I loved your sailor song crossing the Pacific Ocean which was cool. I've seen your double impact acting against yourself about the von promotion which was also cool and well played out. But on this video @ 1:16 - 3:30...that is some hot minute of venting. I love it when you guys get real and not holding back. Loved it. At 4:37 baby Bodhi was rocking that skate board. I love this remodeling of your catamaran. Every time I look at a front view of your catamaran it reminds me of a the predator helmet. It looks badass but I was imagining what your catamaran would look like in black. It's so cool.
Ashley I support improvements. Happy Mother's Day! Nohoa is your home and the fact you guys do all the work. Lastly you have the safety of your family to consider. You guys have had many ups and downs and I would love to see you guys in a new boat like Sailing LA Vagabond the only sailing videos I enjoy.. I love the way you guys are with the kids.. Keep up the great videos: you guys will get a new boat in God's time. Good Luck Guys ❤
.... that sure is a major transition in the salon/kitchen/nav-station area ... looking forward to the full reveal when it comes ..... what was that boat you showed the stern of and then walked down the side. Was quite surprised at how short, what I presumed was, the boom was ..... thx for the share ... as always never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....
thin coats of quality teak oil? Great video as usual. I love that you guys stay away from the dramatic "titles", keep it real! sand papers... quality brand really, really makes a difference.
Hey guys! We are very excited to see how the remodel came out! Please can you tell me what toilet is in the video clip (looks te be a macerator type). I'm looking for something similar on a project I'm working on. Excuse the odd question 😂. Greetings from Pretoria!!
That rant at the beginning made me laugh so hard 🤣
And so completely true are those hard facts… but still we sail and smile, right?
@@carenclemmons5002 what other options do we have? Life without sailing would be a rather sad life
The best!! 😂😂😂
😂 😂😂

You're the bravest sailing couple I know. Sailing with 2 toddlers requires tremendous bravery. I couldn't have done it!
Looks alot brighter. Very nice.

Bohdi is Growing up Beautiful , wow is he Two yet he can ride that Scooter.
Bodhi slimes mom right on cue ... so cute! Enjoy every minute guys. Great video!!
Great video and scarily close to the truth about the love / hate relationship! Very entertaining too and nice to see the reality of sailing being shared for everyone... Thanks for sharing!
Ben’s rant was absolutely hilarious and had me laughing nonstop, even the second time around! Great video and fantastic boat makeover/refit guys.
Boady riding the scooter blew me away! I’ve been following you guys for years now. Keep up the great work!
Bodi’s balance would be advanced due to managing himself on a moving boat. Great scooter skills. 🙌🙌🙌 Looking forward to the “new” boat.
Oh my oh my. Nahoa is looking great. You guys have done a great job upgrading, repairing and renovating her. She is looking great and she will be a great boat to have. We love seeing Bodhi learn new things in each episode. Looking great guys, you have really modernised the look of the saloon 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🇦🇺
Count me as impressed. Excellent "Make Over" for Nahoa! You must be proud!
Ben, please protect your skin, hearing, lungs, and eyes, even when doing small jobs. You'll be glad you did later in life! Safe travels ❤️
Excellent audio engineering on this one. The aggressive use of reverb during the soliloquy was spot on!
Why does beating the crap out of a sink excite me so much? 😂 I imagine your rewards after all the stress and love will be awesome. The children are as beautiful as ever. Seems like Willa might be growing out of some of her allergies and your attention to her diet of course. Good job Mom and Dad!
Hi Crew , seems hard work , but you done it all so fine. THX for taking us with you.Regards from Germany
Omg, few! I read the title wrong n panicked 😮. Thought you had a hole in your boat. Glad you guys n babies are ok. :)
Great job, modifying the hulls to accept big windows would be a nice touch, nothing beats natural sunlight. Enjoy the adventure.
Absolutely brilliant progress!🤭😁😘😘😘😘

Whoa Bodie was quick and coordinated on his scooter, he’s going to be athletic, maybe a great skater 👍💗👍🛹🛴🛴🛹🤙🏄♂️
Have teak on all decks on our sailboat. Refinished it a few months back. It's worth it! Nothing beats teak!
The commentary at the beginning was hilarious as the owner of a small, saltwater fishing boat. I feel your pain every penny.
Renovating & maintaining a house is pretty ridiculous too. I feel your pain. I bought a 1990 Corsair F27 to learn the ropes on & ease into sailing that needs about $15-20K of work. The work you do yourself has really inspired me to give it a “tri”. 😜

Love your videos.
Smoode sail.
With love to you all from Sweden.
Happy Mother's Day. !!! Your a beautiful, attentive, loving person. Enjoy your children. Thanks for sharing your lives....
New plans.... I like how the new HVAC has both HEAT and cool.
Looking good Ben.
Have to admit , yalls make for a cute couple ! ENJOY
Nahoa looks so bright and airy! Beautifully done!
Me after first watching this channel... "Wow, I would love to do that as an adventure in my life - live in the seas and travel everywhere!"
Me after a few years watching Nahoa... "Yea, no way I would live on a boat."
I love watching this channel and watching their adventures and life but I think I'll just live vicariously through them. Watching all the repairs reminds me of the Ship of Theseus. I feel the weight of the active toddlers here. Happy for you two and wishing you the best as you continue your journey. Back to warmer weather!!!!
Looks a lovely remodel ❤
Teak has a very high Silica content and unless you are using high quality sandpaper it will go dull very quickly, this applies to cutting tools as well.
your misery is our gain! Really enjoy your channel! Thanks for all of your videos.
Looks amazing guys. Can’t wait for the reveal. Really like the color choices to get rid of the wood stains. Happy Mother’s Day Ashley - the kids are growing up so fast. Beautiful family. Thank you for sharing your adventures.

"Nou Nou," is Afrikaans for "Just now," which in South Africa means, "In a little while." As apposed to "Right now."
This is absolutely hilarious for Mother's Day and I can't wait to see what happens on Father's Day but the remodel looks great so far. And hope there are more backyard adventures of Africa before sailing again. Today's show very interesting.
That sink was not coming out. Loved the honest commentary.
Ben your monologue/rant was brilliant! Bodhi is just too awesome and Nahoa is looking very sharp!!! In summary, awesome vid!!!

Fantastic work. The finished product helps brighten the whole boat. Bodhi and Willa are growing up. Happy Mother's Day!
wow a stunning result sailing is working
Nice planning and project execution! Excellent balance between boat-work and family as well.
Great job guys! What a lot of work.
We are from Grafton, Ontario, but have two weeks left before returning home. We are in Gordons Bay in case you need something
Such an awesome job with the refit!
Happy mommas day ash, good morning Nahoa family, you all keep safe.

Guys - Totally love your vlog
You do great work! Can’t wait to see the reveal!
Ha ha, I love your spiel guys !
Every time you said "boats" I skilled a shot of rum.
Cheers guys.
Bri from Oz
You guys are amazing. Looking very nice.
That bit with the hammer and the sink looked very satisfying. 😂😂
😂 that was so funny! I was laughing out loud, especially on the cherry Coke in one hand and a box of matches in the other! Trust me, I get it....
I thought he said Gerry can, which would be full of gas and pair up nicely with the matches!
Fabulous! Great job and amazing!

Look at that little guy ride that scooter. Cannot believe how big he is getting.
I liked the intro starting @1:20 . The storytelling was great ! You should do audio dramas in your leisure time (if there is any left).
thin coats of quality teak oil?
Great video as usual.
I love that you guys stay away from the dramatic "titles", keep it real!
sand papers... quality brand really, really makes a difference.
Our Leopard 42 will splash around 5/18 there if you guys are still there and happen to see it! Great job on all that work
Hey guys! We are very excited to see how the remodel came out! Please can you tell me what toilet is in the video clip (looks te be a macerator type). I'm looking for something similar on a project I'm working on. Excuse the odd question 😂. Greetings from Pretoria!!
Wow. The boat likes great!!
Great video. I'm looking forward to the next video..👍
Great Rageaholic rendition to open while removing the sink.. Lol.
Boat looks amazing. Congrats.
It looks amazing! I love watching your videos! Be safe!
Looks fantastic!
The teak sanding. I would sand wet with soap… the soap shops the paper from clogging and it is quicker.
The boat looks
great!,
