You take the red handle off of the battery disconnect switch and mount it from behind. Then you only need a small round hole between the screw holes. And you can get the correct crimping tool for the large gauge ring terminal for like 30 to 50 euros. Instead of squishing it in the vise and having the cable leaving the premises. :)
You have that bran new free welder that has tig. An you have the mixed gas an sure you have some old wire coat hangers. That what you should have used to patch the muffler. That what tig is for.. not a dam cheap mig
Another great video little bit of humor a bit of excitement blowing up the glow plug and some MacGyver MacGyver's fixing up the muffler all in all great video and entertaining keep them videos coming great job
You mean when Andrew used a chainsaw to install a radio in his truck? ..... I'm going to watch the rest of your two hour video now. Thanks for the content. It's greatly appreciated. ...... By the way, We got a 4.8 Magnitude Earthquake here in New York City and I'm still watching your video. I'll check out the News later
Just watched your cabin video's back to back. I have a broken leg and need to rest it i laughed so much at your dry humor i needed to pee i will move on to your random stuff videos next.
I bet Ants could build a fully functional set of tracks & replace the wheels on that Bobcat. I wish the lads that invented the Arc Droid sent him one, the things he could invent & build would be unlimited. Luv the videos your humour & inventiveness never fails to amaze me, proper Red Neck Engineering .
Great episode Andris. I love following your journey…as much as I love to follow F1, NHL, NFL, MLB. Just another way to say your videos are in good company.
I now know more about a bobcat than I ever thought I would (or wanted to).🤣Guess I'll have to get one now. Expanding the workshop!!!! This could get dangerous! I'm all for it!😁
Sometimes I dream of leaving my office job, packing my bags, and flying to Estonia to lend you a hand. I'm not a mechanic or a builder, but your lifestyle inspires me a lot and I would like to give it a try. I think it's a beautiful thing; indirectly, you're broadening the horizons of many people, pushing them out of their comfort zone.
The white connectors in the switch panel are designed to connect directly to the back of the switch, explains the broken pin stuck in the connector. The new lights need a “wedge” style globe base that will twist in, could be a T15 or T20 hard to judge the size from the video. There might not be any short in the wiring to the light, as you tested it with globe’s installed you will get continuity from the power side to ground through the bulb.
If you haven't already, remove the bulbs from the reverse lights and retest. An incandescent bulb is a controlled short circuit. Hopefully, you can use the existing wiring. Great video as usual!
Ces bon , means it’s good in French my friend! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Here in Louisiana the old people talked Cajun French, it’s like a slang French from France! If you know what I mean, my dad never taught us the language! I just know some words,Andris! I like when you’re speaking your language, even though I don’t understand what you’re saying! You’re always hilarious brother, I’m usually laughing my butt off! 🤣😂🤣
The reason why disconnecting the negative is better, is that creating a short is a lot les likely. When you disconnect the positive, you can still quite easily create a short between the positive section between the battery and the master switch, and anywhere on the frame/body. If you disconnect the negative, the only way you can short anything is between the positive and negative section between the battery and the master switch. So yes, disconnecting the negative is objectively better. People who say you should disconnect the positive simply don't understand DC automotive wiring. They may think it's like normal house wiring, where you should disconnect the phase (/positive), but it's not. Functionally it doesn't matter though.
Put index tabs with labels on the pages that refer only to Your Hobo. The Other Hobos are on their own. Next time, just use a car muffler, they are cheap, there are plenty of shapes to suit your needs, and you have universal flexpipes, V bands and all you want to have a good muffler. Again Andris hits it out of the park. Great video I could watch his videos every day even if they are 3 hours long the more and longer the better, man!!!!!
37:28 😂😂😂 yes, safety first! Lol I love every second of your videos. It's pretty awesome mix with good knowledge, hard work, nice big machines and fun.
Andris attitude towards fixing , renovating , organising his property , buying stuff , gives everyone a lesson on how to cope . We have waited for two days to watch this video and Andris you have not disappointed, we enjoy your videos so much you get a special time where we both can watch you. When you are done with the bobcat you’re going to feel very accomplished and enjoy using it with operating gages, lights, etc. The bobcat is going to run so much better. I can imagine how long it takes to make these repairs and videoing it then editing the video’s. As viewers we want to say thank you for all of your time and that we appreciate your hard work for us and how enjoyable you are. Had to chuckle when you installed the horn lol. Have a great weekend and week. Wishing you the best always. 😊
1:17:34 Gauge means AWG (American Wire Gauge) 12 AWG is about 2.0525 millimeters or 3.3088 square millimeters. So If there’s a tool like wire strippers you might have that has those numbers on it, that’s what it means. I think that might help? 😂
Mortske has a RUclips channel called Mortske Repair. He is a retired Bobcat engineer. You could maybe contact him about parts. Your Bobcat parts come from North Dakota.
Yeah, those dont come equipped with one from factory. Previous owner had put a master switch to mine 2001 753g. It's handy to know that power is really off from everything.
Temperature gauge looked like it was the sensor. The exhaust repair cost you some wire, gas and electricity, and will last a long time win-win. For someone who does not know or like electrics (your words) I think you made a very good job of repairing all the electrical problems. The bobcat is made in America? Is that why your spanners won’t fit! I think the only thing metric on the bobcat is the driver 😊 Another excellent video, keep on posting.
All the OEM lights for Bobcats that I have seen say Speaker on them. I capitalized the S as its the company name that makes them. No clue why they chose Speaker as the company name is J.W. Speaker from what I can gather in my work. Maybe the original founder of the company was named Speaker or something. Would have to do more research and I am too lazy for that right now 🤣
I think you bought the US style rear light housings. It only has one bulb that twists 90 degrees behind the red lens. I’m not sure why the European ones have two bulbs per side and red/orange housings. Turn signals or hazard lights maybe? Our old a300 and a770 only had one bulb behind the red lens
I'm probably late to the party, but I can actually maybe be helpful for once instead of just talking shit! Coolant temp sensor/gauge - you were wondering how it works. The sensor is a variable resistor. When the coolant temperature increases, the resistance across the sensor decreases, and vice versa. Apply 5v in, monitor the amount of voltage coming out, and you can translate that to needle movement on a gauge! More voltage out = more degrees. I'm guessing the 6v wire at the gauge is the reference voltage, the 2v is what's returning after the voltage runs through the sensor. Does that make sense? I'd proofread but I'm lazy. Someone correct me and make fun of me if I'm wrong. Thank.
It looks like you had two failures on the temp system. The old thermostat had failed and stuck open (as it should when it fails) which is why all the coolant was coming out through the thermostat. The new one was closed and worked correctly at temp. The sensor was also probably bad. They both needed replacement anyway.
I call it a CrapCat Goto scrap yard get a car muffler exhaust or bring on the melted wires hahaha Get a macbook pro to edit. Non of the bs Also if you can squeeze a bit of $ get a tone generator. It adds a ring to a wire and other end touch it it rings
Man if I wasn't a continent and an ocean away I would come and help you with the wiring. I too love complaining about people's half assed repairs. I would consider getting one of these "2 Wire Retractable Test Leads with Alligator Clips 18 AWG Test Leads Alligator Clips Electrical Test Leads Retractable Test Leads 20 FT" as described on amazon. Harbor freight had them for a while and they are amazing for extending your test leads. I was removing the highscooler stereo "upgrade" wiring in a little pickup today. Between that and this it reminded me that I need to get my backhoe gauges working again. They have only not worked since 1996. So should be easy to fix.
Um...yeah....Didn't think it would be finished in 2 episodes. And that's ok. I am sure you are tired of squeezing your hands into tight spaces. But it only gets tighter once you lift the cab...ugh. Hang in there buddy. I know your itching to get the Hobo back to work with all the outside things you need to do. Still a muddy mess though. Shop expansion sounds awesome, dude. But so is to finish the cabin...and you will get both done in the traditional Ants Pants way. Until next time, take care! Bill
How many days of rain and snow.... How many things break down when least expected, grandpa or who ever built the place never thought or heard of equipment like this... It is really going to get hard and expensive to move over... consider a new location is my advice. Then cheapest china made crap for a building that will blow away in a light windstorm.... ain't easy being Andris... nope, and I hate wiring also.... good work getting it functioning
People commenting about master switch. I wonder what they could think its wrong with it. Its full circuit versus not closed circuit. Doesn't matter where its disconnected.
I use a piece of flat bar 20mm x 100mm to help me on the lathe. I put it on the ways & can slide it backwards & forwards with a dial indicator or scriber. Also I can use it as a flat surface to markout a job.
I would have suggested take another black piece of plastic and glue that on and cut the proper size hole for the gauge to fit properly. Just having a thin layer of another piece of plastic over the base would have still looked proper.
The old lights wire probably burnt out because the last operator put a higher wattage bulb in. If you swap all the bulbs for LEDs then you draw far less current and get more light. Try a 20w LED for each reverse light. And you could screw flat leds to the indicator etc side to get all the tail lights working. 10w each will be a big upgrade.
Can’t wait for Episode 3!!!!!!! Definitely need to get that workshop expansion project going!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
28:30 Some predictable Estonian cursing 😂😂😂
Obviously 😅

Halfway through this episode and Master Blaster is firing on all cylinders. 👍
Haha
Outstanding job on the muffler. Saved some good money you can use for other projects and videos. Love your videos.
Thanks 👍
Make the workshop bigger! 😃 love these long movies, make as many episodes as you want! love to see you work / struggle 😂
Will do!

Less likely toshort out on the Negative side. I install mine on the negative side. Much safer in my opinion.
You can put the pump for the heater into a steel box with insulation. Rockwool would be a greag choice for its firproofness
Tictictictoctictoctic
I would have suggested take another black piece of plastic and glue that on and cut the proper size hole for the gauge to fit properly. Just having a thin layer of another piece of plastic over the base would have still looked proper.
Shipped without being shipped, a lot of times waiting on label. In your case, they are waiting for the item to get to them. Maybe
Wowsers, at the start with the dark Goggles, you looked like Dr. Nefario !! Awesome
😁
Wrap the muffler in fiberglass exhaust wrapping. Used frequently on motorcycle mufflers. Keep the heat away from sensitive parts!
Newer versions have a keyless start & password protect you need to enter that enables you to start & run the machine.
Ugh dont want that 😂 easiest is a wrench starter to starter connectors
The old lights wire probably burnt out because the last operator put a higher wattage bulb in. If you swap all the bulbs for LEDs then you draw far less current and get more light. Try a 20w LED for each reverse light. And you could screw flat leds to the indicator etc side to get all the tail lights working. 10w each will be a big upgrade.
Good idea
