We have something similar here in Australia for broad acre farming, they travel for kms in a row, back and forwards with all GPS steering etc. Russian stuff never seems fancy but reliable I believe and strong

Sorry I cant help you with the K700A as much as with Joseph but I think this machine just need first of all a lot of clean up. The risk of a runaway on the JaMZ 238 has less risk than a 2 stroke Detroit. I have to admit the hydraulic tank looks like a very typical fuel tank. Positive side there was no water in the hydraulic oil just old varnish and the fuel tank looked clean and rust free. I don't know from what to start first. Maybe just get to know if the main clutch dose engage at all? That maybe the reason why it stopped moving on it's own power. Cooling system needs a check up also fuel filters. I'm sure where the two cooling pipes go should be thermostats on both sides(same also on a 7V61 Detroit). This machine will be a lot of fun once you get all the bad stuff sorted out. Btw they also sold these tractors in Canada but I forgot under what exact name it was.

About the runaway, very easy to remove the turbo intake manifold (giant rubber hose) and block the turbo intake with a bed or something

ARTICULATE is the word you’re looking for when a tractor swivels in the middle. That looks like the PTO where the drive shaft is missing because it’s right in line with the shield that runs down the back. You could put a log arch, a winch and some plates on it and make it into a skidder for hauling out wood. It looks just like one now but just without those 3 things. But skidders also have a push blade on the front also to push the logs up onto the pile, to make roads, and for pushing snow and dirt. But you have a big Soviet bulldozer for that. I think you’re right, you’re going to have plenty of content for videos with that. You’ll have content for years…….and years…….and years…….and years……..and years. You should also send a video of the tractor starting up with all the beautiful diesel smoke rolling out to Greta Thumburg. I bet she’d enjoy it. 😂

the 701 has a 12V non-turbo engine. That one has thing deep rough sound. There was also a experimental k710 (never entered production), i think that one was a modified V12 with double turbo and roughly 500 hp

Iv had plenty of suggestions so far. The gearbox has a dedicated hydraulic pump, can be something as easy as the pump not being in gear for example. We will see in future.

Hah, talking about issues buying the thing from an island. Now think about people on the island who have to buy everything like that! :D I'm located on the "next big island" so i know the struggles personally!
as i'm informed, at this model this is not the case. So its not a european/international air brakes design (safety by design) which are engaged when no pressure is applied. This is a common mistake on k700 series, as there is also no safety feature which prevents you from starting in gear. So, when you start the engine in a low gear - the chance is high that you don't have pressure build up before and you're rolling without brakes.

You should harvest some trees to mill lumber and build yourself a nice big shop to put these in so you can work inside in cold or wet weather.

Articulating (R Tic U Lating) mid steer can be a pain in the ass. The brakes are engaged with no air pressure. Engine sounded pretty good.
as i'm informed, at this model this is not the case. So its not a european/international air brakes design (safety by design) which are engaged when no pressure is applied. This is a common mistake on k700 series, as there is also no safety feature which prevents you from starting in gear. So, when you start the engine in a low gear - the chance is high that you don't have pressure build up before and you're rolling without brakes.

The only hint that the hydraulic tank wasn't the fuel tank was the size. For that size of tractor it would be a very small fuel tank.
