For the wheel studs, I just removed one and took it to the store and found a similar one instead of buying OEM Bobcat. They were 2.50 instead of $10. To seat them I use a oversized nut as a spacer to suck them in tight.
What’s worked great for me is to put the studs in the freezer for a couple of hours to shrink them then before installing them heat the hub up. If you get it too hot you might have to put more grease in the wheel bearings because it could melt it but that’s no problem as long as you don’t get it hot enough to melt the wheel seals. I’ve stretched the threads on new studs trying to pull them in with the nuts before even with an oversized nut as a spacer.
You definitely hit the jackpot when you got all of those hydraulic hoses! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 You should be able to warm the fittings up a little but not too much my friend!

I think they put all the wire harnesses in all the machines to run different attachments purchased for the bobcat. Instead of having different wire for this or for that they just put all you need in the machine. Just a thought. Way to go for you eBay purchase saved tons of money, and that you can count as a win.. maybe you should enclose your bobcat. And maybe the switches up by the ceiling are for windshield wipers for the enclosed bobcat? Again just another thought. Hey Ant! So a few things I would suggest is. 1. Your front bobcat tires are backwards. They need to be switched to the other side. The tread needs to make a v facing forward. The auxiliary control box isn’t worth replacing. Cost 1k in the USA. I bought a few. I just ran a wire and switch the the Aux manually. When you paint the machine. Use a paint gun. I painted over 50 machines. They look amazing with a gun and good paint. Take all plates. Glass and wheels off. Paint the grey first. Then tape it and paint the white. Will look brand new. 2.Make some merchandise to sell. Like small pins or shirts or something cool about your culture. You have a big following and in the next few years you will blow up. 3. People love when RUclipsrs like you buy and sell stuff. Like “I BOUGHT THE OLDES EXCAVATOR” and then promote the merchandise then. Lots of views and money to keep doing stuff. 4. Just want to say you’re doing great!! Hard working. And consistent content. I won’t be shocked if you get 500k subscribers in the next few years. Use this platform to your advantage. A lot of money to be made to help you and your family out. Love the content and keep going!
@@Ants_Pants wasn't sure if that would create to much heat or not. I guess dropping 3v its not likely an issue. I was researching and they have sealed little converters for like $6. Otherwise it says 12 ohm resistor is needed. I'm not sure what the current draw is but it might be a good idea to make a small relay bank so as to avoid burning up the joystick controls. DC switching is typically harsher than AC
The yellow wires on the strobe lights switches the flashing patterns and also if you tie them together. It should sync them to one another. I worked installing emergency lighting on police cars and county worker vehicles.

The red button with the picture of the bucket is for automatic bucket level when you raise the loader arms, and the trigger on the right side stick is for continuous flow to like a snowblower etc.
I do that and also heat up the hub around the holes. But don’t get it so hot it melts the wheel seals or the grease out of the bearings. As soon as I heat a hole up and put one in I blow air on it to cool it so heat doesn’t build up too much.
You have the signals comming in. you can buy some cheap relays to replace the aux controller. you can use some high amp resistor to reduce the voltage to 9v .

The blackmith's horse is always shoeless... 😏 Anyway, you're right about rear lights, twice. Sometimes you get lucky that something fits correctly, and the yellow wire is to switch operating mode. I have similar lights and there are even 4 wires. It flashes in different patterns, just touch the yellow to positive to switch pattern. Cheers, it's going well, shortly will be spring and mud season at your place, here we had already 27 degrees in the past 2 weeks, but wednesday it came back winter, snow and also some frost locally, regardless of our central-south (mediterranean) position. I like these videos! Keep up the good work. The "oil" substance in the electrical plugs is most likely dielectric grease. It provide corrosion protection by blocking moisture (water and other liquids), and excess oxygen - these combinations (liquid and oxygen contribute to rapid corrosion). The grease component of dielectric grease also lubricates the rubber or silicon insulation of the connectors.
You won't know yourself, the luxury of heating. I looked up that part and inclusive of shipping to the UK, it's just over £1000, so I think the $600 is a better deal. That part must be about as rare as Dragons Eggs. 😂🤣👍
First off that cab heater discovery was epic. You could always fit some Lexan or other rigid and clear plastic around, doesn't have to be air tight, and you'd have a somewhat warm cab in the wintertime. That bearing is a little worn for sure but it would probably last a while. This video was awesome man. It's like I'm right there with you as you troubleshoot, discover, and repair bit by bit. I don't mind at all if you need 3 more videos to complete this project. From your jokes, to watching you come up with obscure fixes, I really like watching your content. @@Ants_Pants Gear type hydraulic motors, do not need them, but the piston type high torque hydraulic motors have three hose connections, as the oil that escapes the piston/cylinder area, under some conditions, builds up case pressure, until it usually spits the shaft seal out, then the fun starts. The cooling fans on some equipment, is powered by gear motors, low torque application. Large brush hogs/mulchers use the piston motors for hydrostatic drives, high torque requirements. Read up on hydrostatic drives, and skidsteer attachments. Best wishes from Northern Canada.

I wish you could have heard me yelling at you to turn the wheel nuts around and pull the lugs in with the flat side instead of the tapered side. Using grease also helps the lug pull into place better and helps the nut and washer spin freely. If you want to use the auxiliary hydraulic system, there's not much you can do unless you replace the control module. You cant even continue to diagnose the problem unless the module is powering up the rest of the system.
When you put your tires back on you have an aggressive tread on them, so you can’t run tracks on them. If you had a non-aggressive style tread on your tires, you could use tracks
Be careful jamming test lead probes into female connectors. Those connectors often meet up with a flat blade and jamming around test probe into them can spread them out and stop them for making proper connection in the future.
@@Ants_Pants okay cool. I've just learned this the hard way a couple of times. It really adds a nice layer of diagnosing challenge when you cause an intermittent problem halfway through the process :-)
The connections may, possibly, be filled with a dielectric grease. It would help with waterproofing and prevent corrosion. Or the seals are bad, and regular oil got in creating a weak short.
Andris, the rear beacons may only last 5 minutes as the plastic lens is glued to the aluminium backplate, and water gets into the leds. Reference the yellow wire. With additional momentary, when the yellow wire is momentarily contacted to the red positive, you can change the flash patterns. I know you love watching Andrews videos. After you get the nut past the end take a grinder and taper the end of the bolt! But you have to use a thread die nut to straighten the threads! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Would save you on your replacement nuts!

The yellow wire is probably the mode/function. Ground it to select the next function. Or, put to 12v.
Some of those wires are probably for a wiring harness to go to the front because some attachments use electrical power for some of the functions.
I just replaced the quick couplers on my bobcat.

Ants, you might consider a small case drain line, to go with the pressure, and return, as hydraulic motors require them.

You could just put a loop in the hydraulic line under the arm by the operator cage. It’s flexible enough and shouldn’t be too much a risk of pinching.

After you get the nut past the end take a grinder and taper the end of the bolt! But you have to use a thread die nut to straighten the threads! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Would save you on your replacement nuts!
Thread dies are incredibly hard to get started sometimes. A stud repair die is similar but works much easier
watching the pin building and welding and tilt ram would be fun to watch, looking forward to the next vid
