I recently took the 12-28 PZ + Zfc on vacation and I got great results. This week, I went out with my granddaughter, and again got lovely images. The best part of that combo is that the set up is so light. I barely noticed the weight on the camera strap as I put in the kilometres of walking…I have plenty of hefty cameras, and I gotta say, when chasing a 5 year old, the (lack of) weight was appreciated!
I bought this lens shortly after its availability. I was pleasantly surprised by the image quality I’ve gotten with it. It’s a great choice for landscapes and street photography on my Z fc.
I'm looking into this lens for putting on the z5 because it crops at 4k anyway. I also got the Bluetooth remote control so you covered everything I wanted to know. Thank you for the excellent coverage as usual
Looks like a nice lens. Not what I’m looking for, but great to see DX support from Nikon. Can hardly wait for beauty tips from Kon. Good luck on the marathon!
Nice content, "B" roll doesn't need a bee in it 🐝This lens and the 24 1.7 sealed the deal for me on Z-DX. With the ZFc it means they have a capable, fun, lightweight kit for most users.
I bought this upon release here, even though I have the 10-22mm F-mount. Although I did not compare photos from the two, the IQ is good enough to justify having this one in my bag and skip the FTZ adaption. The zoom mechanism worked much better than I expected, and the possibility to focus remotely makes this a great purchase regardless.
@@veeaa sure, and yes. I do miss the extra 2mm, especially with the crop factor; however, the lens is so good and so convenient that I don't mind the sacrifice in 99% of the use cases I have for such a focal range.
Thanks for this video. I almost left Nikon due to the lack of native wide angle for my Z50 so this is a great new lens option to have. Definitely interested to see the difference with the FTZ + 10mm zoom lenses.
Great video, Guys. Thanks for sharing. @Konstantin: That looks like an F3, hanging around your shoulder. My all time favorite film camera. What lens are you using on it?
I got this a few months back and reviewed, it’s a nice lens. So is the 24mm F1.7 which I also bought. With the DX kit lens it gives nice options. I also bought the Viltrox 13mm for at home RUclips work, another great lens for that use case. Shame the 24mm has no VR but it’s great for photography.
It’s a DX lens and designed to be used with smaller sensor cameras such z30, z50 & zfc. You may want to look in to full frame options such as z 14-30mm lens from nikon.
I looked at this lens when it came out to use on my little Z30. Ultimately I decided to purchase the Viltrox 13mm f/1.4. While the power zoom is a somewhat helpful feature, I found that the faster glass, better IQ, and excellent AF of the Viltrox to be more suited to my use. From my perspective, Nikon missed a great opportunity by not going with faster glass and/or a wider focal length prime than the current DX Z 24mm f/1.7 for their APS-C offerings.
I will not buy this lens for sure. I still prefer to use my old Tokina 11-20/2.8 with FTZ, than this. I don't understand Nikon. Why there are no good APS-C zooms in their line-up? Are they somehow blocking Tamron from releasing 11-20/2.8 and 17-70/2.8 for Nikon Z or Tamron doesn't see sense of releasing these lenses with Z mount? In fact I don't see any sense of releasing mythical Z90 if there are no good APS-C lenses. Who's going to buy it? Yes, there is choice of prime lenses, especially from Viltrox, but I think most people, like me, use them with Zfc and don't need something like Z90. So, to conclude - no, I will not buy this lens, I think it's not worth it.
@@SingleTrack66 What have I missed? The question was "will you buy it?" and my answer was clear - no. And for all my life I thought that Nikon is making photo equipment. How stupid I am... But it still doesn't change the fact, that Nikon doesn't offer good PHOTO lenses for APS-C Z mount cameras.
@@zureq2946 you do know that any of the absolutely incredible S lenses work very well on all the dx bodies don’t you ? Ask yourself what makes more sense, making a great lens that works on every body. that singletrack would buy to use on his Z30 and his Z8 or make a great lens that will only work on one of singletracks’ bodies

my niece likes to use my zfc so I think this would be a good addition for her vlogging. thanks for the review.

Thanks for your input. Do you miss the 2mm on the wide end?

@@kaminobatto Thanks, this is what I'm hoping to achieve too instead of getting the adapted Tamron, which is already the size of a full frame lens.

I bought this lens first day it came on market, and put it on my Z30. I never took it off. I use it for video, only
Flowers are actually quite ideal subject for fisheye since it's naturally symmetrical. 😜

It’s voigtlander 40mm f/2 lens
Using one of these on Zfc. Cant get the zoom values to display on screen or on the EVF😒. No prom on my Z30 though. Otherwise excellent lens

hi guys! I'm thinking about buying this lens... I have a Nikon Z5, do you recommend it?

just bought one and whole set Kase filters for it. Hope it's worthy.
Can it work on d5300 nikon
Too bad Nikon doesn't come out with something like this for the full frame cameras.
Hi ,what camera was you using with that ,would it work on a z611 ?.
No it’s a DX lens
It's a Z50 Dx camera . The lens looks we'll balanced on the Z50.
It will in DX crop mode, which means you will only get 10mp images instead of full 24mp on z6ii
A gorgeous lady 😍😍😍
Nice nail paint Becky. lol

It’s a vlogging lens with stabilisation and a power zoom. It’s also very sharp for the price. I think you have missed the point.
