@davidlange2187 Do you like the turn signal feature? Is it worth it? What about the Daylight Running Lights? Was this straightforward? Did you power them via the fuse box in the cab? Of from somewhere else? I'm getting my lights in a couple of days and am wondering about wiring both of these features up.
My yj with sealed beam bulbs is a nice midrange between these 2. BUT I made a 60 Amp relay harness for my headlights taking 14v right off the back of the alternator straight into the headlights. Also doing that I removed almost all the load off of my factory headlight switch that is known to be a piece of shit. But this is a solid option if you're not smart enough to wire up 12 wires
pro tip - leave the plastic film on them when you install them. Keep them on for as long as possible until they look terrible. Helps preserve the original plastic cover on these lights. All of these lights are made in china and cost the same (around 80-100 bucks) and they are a vast improvement over the stock. The only time I would not recommend them is if you drive alot somewhere where it is snowing at night because snow can cake on these and because they are not heated it can block your vision (in that case I would recommend the more expensive ones with the heated coils on them)
The side by side comparison was awesome and really shows the stark difference. I will probably be upgrading soon and will seriously consider these. I'd be interested to see a long term review when you get some mileage on them because the cheap headlights will get moisture in them or crack and just not last.
These are stamped DOT. Appr. & they need to be, so that is good. The tighlights on these YJ's suffer from similar brightness issues, in daylight especially. You changed the front a little to be safer. Why not check out the same for the back. Same year 92' as my commuter.. 2.8 miles round trip each day. I believe that driving every day is what has helped it last so long. They go through batteries..
The price is really nice too. I’ll never own another car without led’s. Age has taken away the fun of night driving for me. I’ll be interested to hear how long these last.
Thanks! Honestly, I don’t know. I took them out with the JP Jeep conversion to make the look screen accurate. I still have them. The stock ones are still terrible compared to the LED ones.
You can't beat free lol looks really cool. Wonder if they have a heated option as well. I like jw speaker headlights and quadratec headlights have heated options as well.
Can you show how you aimed the new lights or made sure they were still aimed properly. Many people miss this when switching out lights I assume because they are unsure how.
That’s a good question and I honestly have no idea. Theoretically sure, but I have no idea how much of a pain that would be and how well it would work.
Honestly, since I did the Jurassic Park conversation I removed them to put in the screen accurate headlights. I really liked them, but I wanted the screen accurate stock lights to make the JEEP look correct. I still have them though.
It’s still all one unit. So you would need to get new lights. But that’s the same as the originals you can’t just replace the bulbs you have to replace the whole unit.
The wiring on my YJ wasn’t setup for Day time running lights. The Canadian version required daytime running lights and so some YJs will have that option, but not mine. Also because the turn signal is a physically different light on the YJ I didn’t want to mess with re-wiring the everything to make that work, especially since it wasn’t necessary for my Jeep.
I have a jeep with round headlights. I like the Jeeps with square headlights. That’s why I bought second YJ. YJs are fun. YJ are unique. YJs don’t try to force people into round headlights. Be like a YJ ,Kerry.
just bought my 95 YJ, and I ordered these LED before the video was over!
I hope you love them!
I just put these in today. Work well in my 95 yj! Difference in the led light is amazing!
Just installed these, they're very nice. You can wire in the turn signals as well, it just requires some splicing.
Thank you and that's good to know! I assumed someone smarter than me could figure out how to get the turn signals to also work.

Finally a video with above 720p QUALITY!!!! Thank you so much!
Glad you liked it!!
I bought them thanks to your video. Very happy with them, very easy to install in my 1990 YJ. Thank you
I think that it will be great with snow on the ground too.
Just got these based on your recommendation and installed them based on your tutorial. What a huge difference! Thanks for the great advice!
That's great! I'm glad they worked out well for you!
Hey buddy...
Could ya tell me where ya gotten and the part number please?
Thanks!
I just bought a 1992 YJ and will order these shortly. Thanks for the video.
Nice!
The beard is looking fierce!!! I prefer the LEDs. Much clearer.
Thanks. I keep thinking I should shave it.

Just got a ‘95 YJ. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome!
So I know what I want for Father's Day!
Haha!
I love it, I need to get a set for my Jurassic Jeep, I've been debating on them but know I'm sold!!
You need to get them Travis I am them on ellie and she looks 🔥
Thanks. Just placed my order
The LED make a big difference!

Good to know!
Do you have a recommendation for the heated coil type?
Good job on a slick install. I have been wondering what I was going to use on my YJ. I think you’ve sold me.
Awesome! Glad it helped! I was pretty happy with the look and the brightness. WAY better than the stock lights at night for sure.
Beautiful JL HighPoint Overland
Sir, all your videos are great!
I have a 92 like yours same color and I love it.
keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!
I have Led headlights on my XJ and they are great. Next step is Led taillights and back up lights.
Yeah. I like that the LED tail lights tend to look very stock and don’t change the look or feel of the light much but add a lot of brightness.
DUDE, those are amazing!!!! Your doing exactly what I would to my future YJ, which is so cool!!!! GOD BLESS
Thanks they are a HUGE upgrade from the stock lights and super easy to install. So a great upgrade for sure!

Yeah. I will say these seem pretty solid and robust. So I would be a little surprised if they fail quickly.

I’m actually going to be adding rear fog lights soon.

Age takes the fun out of too much !😂
Magnetic screw driver can be a life saver.
Yep! I just got rid of all of my non-magnetic ones.
You can't beat free lol looks really cool. Wonder if they have a heated option as well. I like jw speaker headlights and quadratec headlights have heated options as well.
I don’t think these are heated, but in SC where I live snow isn’t an issue.
Can you show how you aimed the new lights or made sure they were still aimed properly. Many people miss this when switching out lights I assume because they are unsure how.
Would you be able to wire in the blinker and DRL features for the YJ by tapping into the blinker signal and a power signal?
That’s a good question and I honestly have no idea. Theoretically sure, but I have no idea how much of a pain that would be and how well it would work.
Did you get many opposing traffic flashing you because of their brightness?
No, but you can also aim them appropriately so they don’t blind traffic.
Ohh Mat let me know when you want to go play in the jeeps. I'll come meet you.
Where abouts are you located?
@@SimplyMustGo I am in Greenwood
@@johnelmore4002 awesome! I’ll let you know!
Do they heat up? The problem with LED's is they will get covered up with snow due to no heat...
Good question, where I live we have no snow, so I’ve never had to worry about that.
How have they held up ..? It's been one year
Honestly, since I did the Jurassic Park conversation I removed them to put in the screen accurate headlights. I really liked them, but I wanted the screen accurate stock lights to make the JEEP look correct. I still have them though.
i didnt know Opie had a jeep yj
If the LED lights go out, are you able to replace those bulbs?
It’s still all one unit. So you would need to get new lights. But that’s the same as the originals you can’t just replace the bulbs you have to replace the whole unit.
@@SimplyMustGo okay that’s what I figured. I recently inherited a 1990 yj so I’m new to the jeep world. Thanks for the help!
@@haileehook4098 that’s awesome! Welcome to the cult. I mean club. Yeah, welcome to the club!
Do they make these for the TJ?
Yes, they do. amzn.to/36wvaYU
Did you get the integrated turn signal wired?
No. I’m sure if you good at wiring, you could figure it out, but I left it alone.
I love my Jeep I love everything about it. One thing I do not love about it.....
You don't love everything about it.
We're is the fuse for the tail lights
Did you have to upgrade the flasher/headlight relay?
Nope. All the stock stuff.
@@SimplyMustGo thank you so much! Your videos are so helpful!
No thank you!!
Plastic crap, right? You can get 5 X7'a with super halogen. Anyway, the new one look great, and excellent presentation.
On the sight it says that that little light bar is for daytime running and turn signal. Did you get that working?
The wiring on my YJ wasn’t setup for Day time running lights. The Canadian version required daytime running lights and so some YJs will have that option, but not mine. Also because the turn signal is a physically different light on the YJ I didn’t want to mess with re-wiring the everything to make that work, especially since it wasn’t necessary for my Jeep.
Yes. Ez
👍
Where are they made?
Honestly, no clue.
Those lights are expensive up here 🇨🇦
Any body have the part number for these?
Please share it!
A company named after a harley-davidson model interesting
Really? I had no idea that was a HD model. Interesting. To be fair I don’t know much about Harleys but I wonder if that was intentional.
Sheesh... just get a jeep with round headlights.

What about people coming toward you. These seem way to bright for oncoming traffic
