In this video I give an Amazing Grace harmonica lesson in the simplest place to play it: first position in the upper octave. This is one of the great easy harmonica songs for beginners. This is a great one to help learn how to play the harmonica for beginners.

I just realized I commented on this youtube video two years ago, as I had started to learn it. Then a few months later a car ran over my body and it has taken me all this time to recuperate from that horrible accident enough to pick up my harmonica again. Then I found this song once more and am beginning all over to learn it. Thank you for not taking it down. God is great (and I mean Jehovah not 'allah').

That was very nice. I haven't played above the 8 note before and had a little trouble on the draw, but I have played enough to know that will 'clear up' in time, as though somehow my body 'groks' what is needed. It's like connecting with another dimension somehow. :) Thank you for taking the time to do these videos.

Hey Lucas, thanks for posting. This video would also make a great tongue blocking lesson! You know with the 1-4 chord and the tongue blocking out holes 2 and 3. Just tried it to your melody on this and it was pretty cool.

Hi Ron,Working on your wammer jammer lessons I would like to hear some improv or ideas for Booker t's green onions other than baseline any ideas please post
With a Paddy-Richter tuned harp, I can play it an octave lower with no bends needed. To me it sounds a lot better. However, with standard Richter tuning you would need a 3-draw double-bend.

Great version of Amazing Grace. Thanks a lot. I am not sure what the issue is with bends though. Bending notes on a harp add a huge amount to a performance. Is it that you dont like bending notes or simply that some people find it difficult and dont do it? I find it is tongue blocking which beginners find hardest.
I don't consider it to be a beginner technique. It's an intermediate and advanced technique, imho.
