just sitting here, and it is 1.30 am in Denmark picking along, and thinking back to 1970, and Carol Lee Fortney of Mill Creek West Virginia, who broke my heart at 28.
I just can't get over how good this is. Like, I can sing, but I can't pick and ever since I heard my first jam session, I have had a desperate desire to participate. There's just nobody I know who plays bluegrass.
Brings me back to when I was 9-10 yrs old we had a basement that every friday night my brother was 20yrs and he and his friends would get together and had a bluegrass jam. it was a real treat to have grown up with a musical background. Great song and performance Thanks !
This jam session has been one of the best ive heard from anyone. Ever. Along with all the other videos of this shindig. This group of guys in the same room might be as good as it can actually get. Not really much hope for anyone else after this point. Ha
Nice job guys!!! SOLID mando break!!!! Ate it up!! Only knew it was Buddy when he started singing! 😂 He could sing the phonebook and it’d sound good! Wait... I guess we don’t have those anymore...🤔
great song, great vocals, great pickin! Most of the time these days you can't tell what song is being played because the pickers are trying to see how many notes they can get in and lose the integrity of the song. This is great!
If that don't make you feel some kinda way you might as well dig you a hole! I love having jam sessions like that, that's my favorite way to play.......especially when EVERYBODY is good lol!
Such great singing and musicianship, All star group, would like to mention the bass, man the tone, the way it's piped in, I think it was said the dobro man hooked up the sound, and this guy plays so perfectly ,just what the song needs, they all need to be praised though, what a group!
You guys remind me of when I was a little boy when Dad and my uncles band would play all Saturday night long ,I played Rock and Blues for over35 years , But Bluegrass was my first love.
Hey, you dudes are hot stuff. Never heard you before. Pretty neat. The leader of our local bluegrass crew said we should learn this tune, but I can tell you right now we sure won't do it like you folks. There was a little treasure in every single note.
I would highly recommend all the other videos of this group on this channel! I've been listening to and playing bluegrass my whole life and I can tell you...these boys are GOOD!

West Virginian here: sitting in my truck with this on repeat because it brought me to tears and I have a burning need to learn this song by heart.

We all miss Flatt Lonesome and Buddy Robertson is one of the most high profile bluegrass singers on this planet.
Just bring Charli in with her vocals and fiddle, and this would be the ultimate band, all are great
