MFPS is such a missed opportunity. They should have continued with the theme of the rodent tanks and had fish tanks, lizards, and tortoises, etc. Lots of 'small' pets that weren't in Cats and Dogs, but make a fun addition. If it had been that and furniture, and no unusable items (i.e. pet bowls) it would have actually been an awesome pack.
They could also have just put different animals in different packs. You have cats and dogs, you have chickens, cows and llamas in Cottage Living, you could have MFPS exclusively for rodents and maybe pet bunnies since Cottage Living only gave us wild ones, you could have lizards and birds in Jungle Adventure and maybe even tarantulas, you could have turtles and tortoises and snakes in Island Living, you could even have pixies in Realm of Magic! Bust The Dust could have come with an exclusive roomba that likes to be pet and makes cute noises! God, the entirety of Sims 4 seems like a missed opportunity if I think about it too much.
@@LunaWitcherArt I agree with you; an incredible amount of missed opportunities! And Sims 3 actually had all of those small pets in the Sims 3 Pets expansion plus you could even find some of them out in the wild at random. The chickens, cows, and llamas are the only real improvement but then those items were store exclusives in Sims 3 so it's not hard to make them better in an expansion pack.
I love how you went with "a dungeon for rodents" instead of just, y'know, one of those cozy basements filled with aquariums and cages for pet enthusiasts LOL
I'm reminded of my first character in Sims 4 who had grey skin, several scars and wore exclusively robes. I played with him until... I found a frog. And then all I could do was search for frogs. u know, i've got a lot of problems with this pack, but i do appreciate that they give u appropriately sized rodent enclosures instead of those tiny plastic toy cages u see at the pet store. credit where it's due for normalizing proper rodent care. :]
Maybe the size isn't bad but every other aspect of this cages/tanks is just wrong. Also cage for rats should be bigger and have more then one rat inside. The bottom with those awfully big holes is just wrong. Not safe for any creature with small paws. Hamsters need thick layer of bedding as they live under ground they like to dig in it and hide themselves under woodflakes in thier cages. Haven't look if the size of wheel is appropriate and how it looks like so it could either be ok or really bad but the pipes are not safe. Air circulation is another topic. @@saralaerevu8735 yeah you're definitely right about all that and I would never give my rats a cage like that, but we were more discussing size right now. Honestly, the Aquarium coffee table is the only table I'm glad we can't size down. Any smaller and it'd be real bad for the fish in it so it makes sense for it to be a bit oversized!
it's really funny bc i build vet clinics often (i love to have my sims run vet clinics), and even i agree... it's like the sims 4 giving us a candy pack
"How does the cat get down the ladder?" you ask, Kayla...? Why, by turning into one of those buggy, stretchy, backwards headed abominations that pets have turned into when they try to do humanoid-only (Yes, I'm thinking of aliens and robots lol) interactions. Maybe that's been patched by now, but it has been a thing. lol
I think the word for "humanoid" is sim, occults are considered a kind of sim, im not sure about robots but aliens, vampires, mermaids and Spellcasters are
I do not understand why they would make the pet model skeletons compatible with humanoid skeleton animations. Do the two entity types have any animations in common at all? Like you'd think the pets would just T-pose down the ladder rather than turn into a spaghetti nightmare. Oof.
@@SuperUmizoomi I would expect that "sim" is used for all sims regardless of what they are. Either way, "humanoid" is my preference for the most sensical term to describe non-pet sims.
I haven't heard anyone else mention this bug! It was horrifying when my dog turned 'human like' all stretched out and started picking up bowls of food when the family was called to the meal 😂😭
@@lateoclock4281 Or just walk up and down it while clipping inside and not actually facing the right direction let alone getting vertical... like Minecraft mobs.
Kayla’s video-a-day is what’s keeping me sane. I’ve been having interviews for ONE JOB for the last week, and every time they add another one, I scream internally and worry about the next one until it happens. I get to tune out the world with her daily videos for a sweet sweet 20 minutes of relief.
I think it's pretty realistic to have a "pet room". Ive known some people that had large collections of odd pets like spiders, snakes etc and they had an entire room dedicated to and custum decorated and built for the animals. That's probably how I would build it for a person who collects small pets.
@@flannelfishguy ok? I'd say cat's and dog's are more socially known and acceptable. Plenty of people are afraid of snakes and reptiles, just like some people might feel the same about rodents. Not here to bash reptiles. You're being pedantic, and your comment is not relevant to the video at hand or contributes to the conversation.
@@Hi_Im_Akward just sharing information about reptiles that you apparently don’t know. no need to be so rude lmao cannot imagine being this uptight about someone saying snakes aren’t actually a weird pet 😬
I remember specifically wanting this pack after watching Deli build her barbie dream house with that coffee table… yet I don’t think I’ve ever used it 😂 Also the whole pack was so obviously meant to be included to be the cartoony vibe for cats and dogs pack but wasn’t finished that the stuff pack is just insulting 😂
In comparison to the video you made 2 years ago using only my first pet stuff, this build being a modern house shows how much your building style has changed.
To keep the pet beds in the pack, they should have made it so that toddlers could nap on the little ones and kids/toddlers could nap on the large ones. That would be too cute. I'm not sure what they could do with pet bowls, cat trees or litter boxes. With the bowls, maybe you could get an option to fill them with candy? But that sounds kind of icky. Still, using the cat/dog items as decoration wouldn't be totally useless for someone who only built houses and didn't want the gameplay of cats/dogs. It was cheaper than buying the whole cat/dog expansion. You could also use them with get to work's retail system and have a pet store without owning cats and dogs. In the end, I don't mind the my first pet stuff pack because I have cats and dogs. The sims 3 store sounds a lot worse to me.
I would LOVE if you do like an absurdly basic controls tutorial for The Sims. I'm talking about where to find the stuff; how to move stuff; how to move the camera (I have no idea how you make the camera on full top view) and maybe some more complex? (like terrain etc). I am fairly new at The Sims and I never ever builded a house because it is so complicated! I just download it and play with the sims I created. Love u
For the camera: you need to turn on the Sims 3 camera option in game settings (not sure if that's necessary, but I did it first there), and then you can choose it at that small camera button near the menu when you're playing the save. There's two options for camera controls, so you won't get lost. There is a full tutorial on how to use the Sims 3 camer a controls in the Tutorial menu. Good luck!
Ok but can we talk about that kid's room? I would have killed to have this as a kid, and probably still would. All the pink and strawberries are so stinkin' cute!
I think this actually looks really fun and cool! Makes me want to go redownload the Sims and purchase Cats and Dogs and My First Pet Stuff just to download this house.
I'd probably love animal designs on my couches / chair. LOL Also I do like that with the rodents they didnt make the cages too smal but forgot about the beddingl. There's a mod that adds bedding and other animals in it too.
Honestly, I'm not even finished with the video (13:36) and I think it's a really cute and stylish build despite what you had to work with, Kayla. I think you did really well. Thank you for suffering for us. ;w;
Do I know simsie has already built a house with my first pet stuff? Yes. Did I watch this anyway? Of course. One can't just not watch a lilsimsie video.
I just thought of an idea that might be fun for a video: in my mind it would be quite cool to unlock more than 8 sims per lot, randomize the traits of x number of sims (up to you) in CAS... And build a functional caotic home with x number of rooms each one built according to their randomized personalities 😊 In my mind it sounded really fun so I just wanted to share
Now that I see you using this pack I realize how much I actually use my first pet stuff! I always use that rug and that little chair in kids rooms and I even use those sofas in normal swatches! I didn’t even realize the stuff I was using was my first pet stuff lol
It would be interesting to use that big fish table to make an indoor tropical fish aquarium! You could do a big indoor "pool," decorate it with plants, and then stick the tiny fish-bowl-tables in the aquarium plants for fish. It's cool that sized down items can sometimes provide totally different decor options than intended.
I kind of like the house. My only concern is that the sims living there can't have guests. It would be so awkward to the guest need to walk through your bedroom to use the bathroom. I imagine the sims would feel pressured to always have a really tid and clean bedroom.
Highkey a really cute house with what you're given. I actually really like this pack, and same with my boyfriend. I like that its a little add on to Cats and Dogs, and it gives you more pet options, but that is just our take on it.
My first pet stuff is probably one of my most used packs actually 😂 I love it for kids rooms and I like the fish table for my maximal build style I use it all the time
Rat Dungeon is exactly the move I’d expect after The Fish Basement (TM) lol. I’ll have you know though, whenever I try to collect things - like currently I’m trying to SuperSim with a fake relative of Stanley (I unalived him unreasonably fast, and sent him into the Nether because oops) - I always make a Fish Basement to store said collections.
I actually really like the first pet pack with the cats and dogs and parenthood pack. Especially if you are doing something like the 100 baby challenge. Great creativity!
I always think its funny how houses in the sims that are like $50,000 simoleons are considered expensive when IRL if you could get a 2 bedroom house with a basement for $50,000 then we'd have much less of a housing issue. I've built mega mansions in the sims for less than $200,000 and in my city $200,000 will get you a run down 2-3 bedroom home near the waste management facility that smells absolutely terrible. And I live in a much more affordable city than most.
Hi lilsimsie, I just wanted to tell you I love your videos so much. You are one of the only people I watch daily, and I love so much that you upload daily. Literally makes my day. You’re beautiful, your personality is beautiful, and I just wanted to tell you how amazing you are. Even if you never see this lol. Never stop being your precious self, and doing what you do❤️
You know what I do actually like this house. I like the kids room because it’s so colourful and a lot, also the little cat room is pretty modern aswell!
when i was little i drew the heights of all my toys on the wall (like in toy story) and when simsie put the toys in front of the measuring thing it reminded me of that
11:18 ime, cats can actually climb ladders (irl)! at my mom's house, in my childhood bedroom, I have a loft bed. our cat (well, my mom's cat, I don't live with them anymore :() climbs the bed's ladder effortlessly, she loves covering that bed in her hair while judging everyone from above. the ladder is angled tho, so that makes it easier than climbing a ladder that's flat against the wall... either way, real cats absolutely can climb ladders
I actually like some of the My First Pet Stuff items...sure some of them are too much to use, but some of them are genuinely really cute. I feel like the pack should come as free DLC if you own Cats and Dogs though...I just feel like it's not worth the money, like I honestly want that hamster costume. Genuinely considering buying it someday, just to have my gnome sim get married to a hamster
"suspicious secret rat attic" i'll finish watching this video but oh my god that's the best line i've heard from you it's so funny, i love watching your videos and i appreciate you so much for all the love and work you put into your videos. thank you, lilsimsie, for fueling my 2023 hyperfixation on the sims and being one of all time favorite youtubers ("suspicious secret rat attic" who doesn't have one of those lying around?)

Lmao Rodent dungeon. That reminds me of my great aunt's house growing up. My great Uncle had three snakes and so in the basement...They had like four big tanks of just rats for the snakes. I went down there once as a kid and was mortified 😂 thanks for bringing that memory back
why does this make me wanna buy My First Pet Stuff 😂 I don’t even have laundry day yet (that is high on my wishlist for packs) but these items are so silly I wanna try this challenge lmao
ngl, i solely brought this pack for that floor cat lamp, i use it all the time. it looks good in kids rooms, i like using it in teen rooms, i will use it in 'streamer set-up' rooms like. the rest of the pack stuff? barely see it/use it but that cat lamp? will have to pry it from my cold dead body, i want it irl
I genuinelly cackled when you talked about the not so subtle bookshelf door, because I was trying to build a secret room in my house recently and had the same issue. I wish there was a library that would fit with it, otherwise, what is even the point 🤣
I'm not sure if this is new information, but the my first pet stuff does not exist on the Sims 4 for console it is bundled with cats and dogs. You have to buy both
Tbh I don't have anything against my first pet stuff, but I can understand peoples opinions. When I bought cats and dogs, (on sale as its expensive!) My first pet stuff came with it for free! I'm on console but if I was on pc I would download your houses, love you kayla!
They should just have made "my first pet" just be hamster/rat related along with fishtank stuff. I mean there is an entire nisch for that since I'm a fishkeeper, I'd love to have more things as far as that is concerned. The cages for hamsters should be empty and then you could add wheels of your liking, hamster bowls, nests and burrows as one would with a normal pet. They could also have included a birdcage with a parrot you could teach to talk as an idea.
This house looks like the setting for a children's cartoon where the household animals talk and have secret lives - specifically the kind that's kind of disturbing but you only realize it after you've grown up and look back on it.

also bring back the birds from sims 3
You should try only other packs next, what about Vampires or Paranormal?
Honestly, the Aquarium coffee table is the only table I'm glad we can't size down. Any smaller and it'd be real bad for the fish in it so it makes sense for it to be a bit oversized!
Trying to build with the sims 4 pet stuff is like the sims team giving us a generations pack.
Yep, impossible
it's really funny bc i build vet clinics often (i love to have my sims run vet clinics), and even i agree... it's like the sims 4 giving us a candy pack
@@starpupilsx like what was the reason in making a separate pack, and not to include in the original one?
@@yuhhbiscuit profit.
@@yuhhbiscuit money, we all know EA's true colors by now. but it can also just be for another very stupid reason we don't know about
"How does the cat get down the ladder?" you ask, Kayla...?
I get to tune out the world with her daily videos for a sweet sweet 20 minutes of relief.
soo... did you get the job? :)
I think it's pretty realistic to have a "pet room". Ive known some people that had large collections of odd pets like spiders, snakes etc and they had an entire room dedicated to and custum decorated and built for the animals. That's probably how I would build it for a person who collects small pets.
snakes aren’t weird... spiders yeah, reptiles are not uncommon and snakes (especially certain species) are a VERY common reptile
@@flannelfishguy 👍✌️
I remember specifically wanting this pack after watching Deli build her barbie dream house with that coffee table… yet I don’t think I’ve ever used it 😂
Also the whole pack was so obviously meant to be included to be the cartoony vibe for cats and dogs pack but wasn’t finished that the stuff pack is just insulting 😂
The fact that I was playing sims earlier today and saw when she put the build on thw gallery and wondered if it was for a video😭😭😭
These are great, I'd love to see more like it! Like only basegame and movie hangout stuff or only basegame and kids room stuff!
_Movie hangout stuff is _*_The Best_*
@@LunaWitcherArt I agree!
LORD GIVE ME STRENGTH FOR THIS
Wasn’t prepared for you to actually use every single item girl 👀
Good luck!
@@tanyaegorova3149 I got it! Thank you, you are an angel
The only thing I like is the fish tank coffee table. And I never use it lol
I honestly like the couch from it that’s it.
I love seeing Snap trying to help make videos! Cats love to help, heck even my dog wants to help me with stuff for example making my bed.
Ok but can we talk about that kid's room? I would have killed to have this as a kid, and probably still would. All the pink and strawberries are so stinkin' cute!
Wonder how you'll pull this off, but knowing how good you are at building you'll make it work
she didnt make it work 😭
I think this actually looks really fun and cool! Makes me want to go redownload the Sims and purchase Cats and Dogs and My First Pet Stuff just to download this house.
This house belongs to a crazy cat lady who only feeds her cats live rodents.
Hi Snap 😸. Thanks for letting Kayla post another video and gracing us with your presence ❤️.
I'd probably love animal designs on my couches / chair. LOL Also I do like that with the rodents they didnt make the cages too smal but forgot about the beddingl. There's a mod that adds bedding and other animals in it too.
Honestly, I'm not even finished with the video (13:36) and I think it's a really cute and stylish build despite what you had to work with, Kayla. I think you did really well. Thank you for suffering for us. ;w;
Do I know simsie has already built a house with my first pet stuff? Yes. Did I watch this anyway? Of course. One can't just not watch a lilsimsie video.
This house gave me like goofy Bond villain vibes, like a villain who kills their enemies with rodent fever.
I love adding hexagonal/octagonal rooms in/on the side of my kitchens and use the angled couches and large windows to make bay windows.
That couch swatch makes me want this house to be cruella de ville’s house but instead of dogs it’s rodents
I thought I was going crazy but no she has done this twice.
Love to see how far you’ve come in only a couple years xx (i mean that you grew as a person and as a community/career). Take care of yourself 💕
Highkey a really cute house with what you're given. I actually really like this pack, and same with my boyfriend. I like that its a little add on to Cats and Dogs, and it gives you more pet options, but that is just our take on it.
"You can't just hide away all your problems in the kid's room." -Lilsimsie 2022
The coffee table reminds me of the OG Sims' huge aquarium that they could swim in. 8 year old me liveddd for that item!
My first pet stuff is probably one of my most used packs actually 😂 I love it for kids rooms and I like the fish table for my maximal build style I use it all the time
i love that with every new video title i’m like “oh look kayla found yet another way to put herself through literally hell with sims builds”
Unpopular opinion...but I love My First Pets Stuff, especially the fishtank coffee table, I use it all the time! lol
I think the fishtank coffee table is super cute honestly lol
haha I'm glad I'm not alone in loving this pack! and yes the coffee table is AMAZING
BRB downloading the rat house. Gonna have a black widow playthrough with only rat death. Lock the spouses in the rat basement until they die.
I have a rodent room in real life 😂
I have three 63 gallon tanks - one has three girl mice in, and the other two tanks each have one male mouse in.
Unironically my favourite pack next to Cottage Living
Hi simsie. I just wanted to say I love watching ur videos and they always cheer me up: )
I actually use my first pets stuff for toddlers or community centers but it should have been included with cats and dogs.
I actually really like the first pet pack with the cats and dogs and parenthood pack. Especially if you are doing something like the 100 baby challenge. Great creativity!
is a house truly a home without a rattic?
These challenges are always super fun to watch! Keep up the great work lilsimsie!
i love Kayla branching out with her content, it's hilarious lol
i just want to say that i really love watching your build videos. you always make me very into sim builds! 💕
Between this and the house of only roofs, you deserve to build something YOU want to build on stream this week 🤣
I would love to see a house with only Seasons
Never stop being your precious self, and doing what you do❤️
I love how simsie has tortured herself twice with a all my first pets stuff
I actually really like this house! It's so unique and fun
I love (unironically) there's so much gray in this build
You know what I do actually like this house. I like the kids room because it’s so colourful and a lot, also the little cat room is pretty modern aswell!
when i was little i drew the heights of all my toys on the wall (like in toy story) and when simsie put the toys in front of the measuring thing it reminded me of that
I'd love to see you do this with other Stuff Packs!
Kayak: I'm making a house using every MFP item
Also Kayak: I don't like this, I'm making a dungeon so I don't have to look at it
By the way if you play as a mermaid you can talk to the coffee table with the fish in it :)
"suspicious secret rat attic" i'll finish watching this video but oh my god that's the best line i've heard from you it's so funny, i love watching your videos and i appreciate you so much for all the love and work you put into your videos. thank you, lilsimsie, for fueling my 2023 hyperfixation on the sims and being one of all time favorite youtubers
("suspicious secret rat attic" who doesn't have one of those lying around?)
I honestly really like my first pet stuff and I don’t mind that it comes with stuff for pets like I actually really like that we can buy more items for our pets if we want
i’d love to see them use the landscaping tools to make different terrain for builds! more character if you will
Lmao Rodent dungeon. That reminds me of my great aunt's house growing up. My great Uncle had three snakes and so in the basement...They had like four big tanks of just rats for the snakes. I went down there once as a kid and was mortified 😂 thanks for bringing that memory back
this house truly devolving into chaos is what i wish every video was like
This turned out really cute actually! I could totally see this house for a single mother veterinarian and her daughter
i genuinely like the pat, i think it's so cute but it's not the best obviously
why do i genuinely love this house
why does this make me wanna buy My First Pet Stuff 😂 I don’t even have laundry day yet (that is high on my wishlist for packs) but these items are so silly I wanna try this challenge lmao
ngl that egg bed is absolutely my most used pet bed
ngl, i solely brought this pack for that floor cat lamp, i use it all the time. it looks good in kids rooms, i like using it in teen rooms, i will use it in 'streamer set-up' rooms like. the rest of the pack stuff? barely see it/use it but that cat lamp? will have to pry it from my cold dead body, i want it irl
They could also have included a birdcage with a parrot you could teach to talk as an idea.
but for real, I bought this pack because it has the best blinds in the game, I use them so much
Honestly for what you had to work with this turned out really good lol
"You can't just hide away all your problems in the kids room"
I mean idk, that's what MY parents did.
what I would give to see you make an entire house based on that one frog swatch of that rug
I feel like you're one of the few that can actually make My First Pet stuff seem like a decent pack lol I love single pack challenges!
