Oh man...this was awesome before Mamady appeared, then he just turns up and ruffles the hair of the percussion with a sublime over view of the rhythm....totally takes the rhythm to the next level. Jesus...I'm so sad this man has gone upstairs.....what an amazing man. It's a privilege to see and hear his expertise and passion.
This is the God Given talent of communicating with percussion. Today this sounds fantastic, Tomorrow it will sound better. One hundred years from today it will Sustain to sound just as wonderful as ever. Great drumming. Great Music will sustain. thanks for posting a piece of music that will continue forever and ever thank you
At 4:44 is one of my favorite solo phrases!!! Not only sounds great but looks really cool! Mamady rocks!!! So grateful to have been able to take part in this workshop! This was the first rhythm I notated when I got home and started teaching to my friends!:-D
Amazing and incredible , heard and liked so much that would love to hear everyday. Is it possible to watch your show live. Where did you play please. Excellent. Regards Ashu
about 1-2 years playing few hours a day depending on the motor skills you may or may not already have, if never played anything prolly much much much more. And yes i'm one of those persons who answer rhetoric questions
To play like Mamadi keita forget it...never but like the first two player,years...at least two years playing very regularly and taking lesson, they have the groove, the beat, the feeling, the speed...that takes years to develop at least in my experience
Well played. With decency. Masterfully synchronous djembe couple. And well recorded. Good camera position. No unnecessary moves. (Just the one djembe should have been removed to free the view of the dunumba, before Mamady came.)
I'm very curious. I viewed a lot videos and seem obvious, with the exception master teachers, they're hardly any Black Faces in these classes or workshops. It's a troubling trend I'm noticing.
