Love my EJ DE89! I started with a cheap Van Derhagen butterfly type from Walmart. Didn't like it. Went with a vintage Gillette SuperSpeed butterfly type I picked up off that auction site.. It was okay. Then, I bought the EJ DE89 from Geo. I paired it with Astra Superior Plantinum blades and a tub of TOBS Sandalwood cream, also bought from Geo. I've been using this combination for years now. No problems and no discomfort. A very smooth shave! You can't lose with EJ! By the way, I did try several different blades before settling on the Astra. As far as aftershave, right now, my fav is Captain's Choice Nor'Easter balm, again, from Geo.

You have helped me a lot with your videos so far , and you answered a lot of questions, that I have might have had and I thank you for that , I am very grateful ! But one just came up ! Isn't the handle a bit slippery? Because I see it without any knurlings or grooves. I know from you , that you are not supposed to handle razors with wet hands , but still, does all this polished chrome give you a good grip ? Oh and a thing I forgot! Good job on keeping a 10 year old razor like new ! Keep it up ! 👍

astra is my favorite blade. i had this razor as well but i found the handle would get slippery as my hands got wet so I had to buy a knurled aftermarket handle that didn't fit that well but it worked for about 10 years before the threads on the head of the shaver gave out and I had to get a new razor. also the chrome peeled off a bit and scratched up my face but I just hit that with some 1000 grit sandpaper and got rid of the chrome burrs that were scratching me. all in all it's a great razor but they should put some knurling on the handle.

I’m ready to move away from cartridge razors and this video has only confirmed my decision. One question, though. I’ve seen many videos mention that the Feather razors are very sharp and often suggested to make a razor shave more aggressively. I plan to purchase a DE89 variant from Shave Nation, but a little hesitant to start with the Feather blade as a newbie. What are your thoughts on what to start with?
Well, I typed the above comment before watching the whole video and it looks like you answered my question.
