Love the middle sound on this strat, I actually personally dig a 3 way on a strat over a 5, I know thats heresy to some but it keeps it simple and those quaky positions almost always need some aid from a comp or boost in the mix (unless your Knopfler in which case you can do whatever you want because its going to rule). Cool tones and expert playing from Tom. Fender tweed amp?
I have a ‘66 Olympic White Strat. It is one of the two greatest guitars I have ever owned. You can talk about ‘50s and pre-CBS ‘60s Strats all you want, but I’ll put my ‘66 up against any of them. The only difference between a ‘66 (or even a ‘67) and a ‘65 pre-CBS is the headstock. All the same parts; all the same people assembling it in the same factory; same build process. I’ve had a lot of guitars in my 60+ years of playing (57 professionally) so I know a good one where I play it.
1966 Strats have been dissed unfairly for decades. I love my 66 Strat and Tom shows why! CBS didn't have ownership long enough to screw things up to any significant degree. The headstock is larger and thicker lending some to believe the 66 Strat has an enhanced tone signature.
Sorry Tom beautiful guitar but I personally didn’t care for the tone. lol I’m just saying my ears suck. I love the sound of your Senns original strat. Speakers on this iPad might have something to do with it. Lol Love your sense of humor Tom. I really love what you do and look forward to it every day.
@@roncarter2188 The pickups were made by Fender. The type of pickups Tom mentioned in this '66 Fender Strat are the "grey-bottom" Fender pickups vs the "black-bottom" Fender pickups. The difference in how the 2 got their name was the colors of the fiberboard use on the pickups when they built them, that's all. The pickups were still built by Fender. I hope this clears things up for you my friend.
Top shoutout to Robbie Mcintosh, he is certainly a great great player 👍
This is some sweet, sweet playing, fellas! FELLAS!!!
Watching Tom turn it on is astounding
Good seeing Tom playing a Stratocaster !
Tom, love, roots,,,

❤master of beautiful tone and touch is Tom Bukovac❤️
That midle pickup sound is a killer💪💪💪💪
That is one gorgeous Strat. Tom's playing could sell any guitar! I predict it will be gone by the end of the week.
66’ is a great year for fender.

I still have pictures of my ‘66 CAR “chopper” Strat. When my mom found out I sold it, she was sooooo mad.
My 2011 Poly finish Olympic White AS strat has gone the same colour- but only on the front where the sun has hit it.
Do you also have any video of the Mosrite Joe Maphis model in the background? (The one to the right of the Gibson Explorer.)
what amp used in this video ?
Is this color similar to the PRS moon white?
Any signs of the original color or do you know what color it was before the refinish?
Damn i wish I could play like that
Me too...
Not only practice but gotta try gigging too. Playing with people versus your own room makes a HUGE difference let me tell you.
@@dannyllerenatv8635 having an electric and amp would help as well😅
This baby sounds great and I agree that the color is pretty sexy.
Watch Tom buy that gold top Les Paul now!
That dude could play a garage sale acoustic with only 2 rusty strings and still sound killer.
Beautiful guitar.🤘
Damn! What amp is he using?
Its the red Park P18 in the background of the video
Rick Rubin, Paul McCartney, Tom Bukovac should start doing some recording…
Vanilla Shake!
Geeze, Tom is so crazy good 😅
Sweeeeet

my day is absolutely ruined now
@@501chorusechoHa! Well played, Tom (doffing the hat)
Who was the maker of the pickups? Sounded beautiful!
Made by Fender in 1966
@@TurquoiseArmiesNo, that's not what he said.

@@216Numbskull Gotcha- So he was saying grey bottom and that's what I couldn't understand, thanks for the breakdown.
That's how to use the bar
Looks nice doesn’t sound as good as that 55 gold top
Not your standard sports bar blues 😉
66? No thanks.
That’s the worst cover of ‘Slow Dancing In A Burning Room’ I’ve ever heard 😂
Not as good as The MIJ Strats
right....
