what's cool about this is that you can tell how much he really loves this stuff. most of the time I feel like celebrities just feel like dropping 50k or whatever on a table meanwhile they aren't even there when you deliver it and there's no real evidence that they care. he literally was hanging out with you guys for hours, overseeing every aspect of it, measuring off placements, wiping off the table after unwrapping it, going over details, etc. he's super into it in a very authentic way, very cool.

i think the big difference is that hes not just some celeb who wants a cool table. he plays ttrpgs for a living and does live plays. it needs to be aesthetically pleasing not just for the players but for an audience. he really wanted this to be the center piece of the room and it is. they did an amazing job.

Never mind 300 hours of labor, that's probably another $10k - $30k at a minimum just to pay someone skilled. I have to say I've never been so depressed in my entire life than I was watching this video and comparing my life with Joe's. "I get to game with these people...," "Character portraits by Larry Elmore and Jeff Easley," "these people gave me this," "I worked with Wizards on that," "every gamer should have a secret passage." I've never envied anyone before. Now I know what it feels like.
Congratulations to Joe for achieving so much, and to Black Forest for providing such excellent and high end service.

That table is incredible! Everyone involved in its creation should be very proud of themselves. It was great to see Joe so excited about it. He’s clearly been looking forward to it’s arrival and appreciates Black Forest for the craftsmen and artisans you all are. When your work is appreciated by someone who is famous for their own abilities; it stays with you. I worked with two other artisans building several stained glass panels for Karl and Kay Malone’s home. Their home was pretty amazing, it had its own water park, basketball court (of course :) and movie theater. While we were installing one of the pieces, a 5’X11’ transom over the front door, Karl Malone asked us to autograph it and said: “Out of all the great things in their home, he and Kay were most excited about all of the stained glass.” That was a memorable moment and I’m grateful that he took the time to convey his appreciation. So, I can tell you that this wonderful experience will stay with you all; for many years to come.

This is so validating. So many folks do a gaudy bright solid opaque "river", and power to em. But I had this piece full of worm damage I got from a deceased loved one, and I went with an opaque red/brown base then transparent rest of it so you can really appreciate the character of that edge. I even broke my own kind of rule and resawed it "too thin" in order to have matching end tables. With the resin layers it's about an inch still and looks phenomenal for my first resin table. You guys were a huge inspiration

It's kind of funny how a near minimum wage worker (I'm referring to myself not anyone else) can be responsible for transporting and moving such expensive items into and out of multimillion dollar and up properties with almost no credentials. One misstep or lack of communication can lead to disaster. I've sweat bullets with my coworkers concentrating on moving items with the customer practically looming over you. Sometimes you have to be very delicate in how you professionally communicate to the client that for everyone's safety and for the item itself along with the property that you need a clear path with plenty of room to navigate. Otherwise you may unintentionally offend them. All of this while you have your company trying to rush you so you can take lunch before five and a half hours passes and then complete multiple other stops that day. Ah that part I don't miss at all, only the teamwork and camaraderie I shared with my fellow workers. Whoever is in a position like this I wish you the best.

I'd also suggest instead of using multiple Four Wheel Floor Dollies with casters some custom built padded Door Dollies in conjunction with straps would be a nice addition because the floor dollies can very easily slide sideways and kick out causing the table top to want to tip over. Proper preparation, and communication is key. Teamwork makes the dream work.
