    Chloe is a perfect co-leader for the Greens - like Marama Davidson she is comfortable using 'hate speech' yet would decry it by others.
    I always find it interesting when someone takes the stance that "it doesn't matter that you prove me so clearly in the wrong I will NEVER apologise'
    Also in this interview I'm glad she reminded me of the 'power' I have to keep The Greens out of government

    Poverty is a real problem. Inequity is not.

    • @AholeAtheist
      @AholeAtheist 4 месяца назад +4

      Poverty stems from inequity. For the past four decades, under both National and Labour, the gap between wages/benefits and worker productivity and inflation have grown, while profits have grown larger and larger. So essentially the rich get richer, while the poor get poorer. That's inequity. That's where poverty is coming from.

    • @luckyM9963
      @luckyM9963 4 месяца назад +3

      I disagree. Poverty is mainly a consequence of an inadequate man and a woman bringing a child for the wrong reasons or not being able to bring them up because of the lack of skills. There are many parents who are not just hopeless but also not educated enough to take the biggest responsibility on this planet which is again:- procreating. Crime is also a consequence of everything I have just explained. The only way to eradicate poverty and crime is to regulate child birth. It should not be considered a human right but a human privilege. @@AholeAtheist After all this... You will always have some people earning more than others and it is called:- competition. People on the left are often very focused on the power of words, even equating certain language with violence, and calls for nuance and context are discounted as racist dogwhistles or a defense of hate speech. Okay. But when it's them being criticised for their language, like Marama Davidson's unambiguously prejudiced 'Cis white men are the main cause of violence' claim or Chloe's 'from the river to the sea' chant, suddenly nuance and context are important again, and the harm that words can potentially do is minimised and downplayed. And the downplay always comes with a slightly condescending subtext of 'oh you poor thing, you just don't understand intersectional feminism or critical race theory' or whichever shibboleth they are using that month. It's not going to help them become a grass roots party of the people. I would actually love a left wing, environmentally focused party to support in NZ, but the Greens don't seem to be playing with a straight bat. No parties in NZ are honest to a fault, but the Greens pretend to be so-very-ethical. It's grating.

      Nobody "plays with a straight bat", it's just not something humans do, with very few exceptions. "From the river to the sea" is used by both sides but with different meanings, Palestinians are talking about freedom from oppression, freedom to go about their business, but Zionists (Israeli or not) are talking about an ethno-state, nazi-style "racial purity", even though that's simply not possible (it's why DNA tests are banned in Israel). Zionists are a mix of Jews, Christians & secular people from all continents & most countries across the world.

    The mask really came off with this one. You can see Chloe's ambitions for social engineering, her absolute disdain and hatred towards those on the opposite end of the political spectrum. She's shocked and appalled by the existence of the "Rrrrright WWWWWing" aka National - forgetting that they got a majority vote, so that means she has disdain and hatred for the bulk of their supporters, too. She talks about "unifying" the country but is absolutely combative when it comes to the idea of building bridges or working with those she politically disagrees with. The only conclusion then is that "unifying the country" means making sure everyone converts to her party's vision of socialist utopia and overthrows the evil bigots she hates.

Seriously, by partnering with National, the Greens could have kept out Act and NZ First, but they didn't like National's policies....? Doh, to quote Homer Simpson! That's the exact reason TO partner with them - to stop them doing those things, that's how you could have had a impact!! But you'd rather sulk and moan and ignore the offer that MMP gives your party.
    And as for your ability to call what you don't like hate speech, but what you do like, 'something to lean into', well that was farcical to say the least. If Chlöe does it, it's okay....if anyone else does it, its not.....um....what?
    And the 'all the power is not in government'. Well sure, a bunch of people turned up on the Governments lawn and camped for a month, doing exactly what you're talking about, but none of you came out. So much for people power. @@georgeherman7846 Israel has publicly said numerous times they can start a process to move forward toward 1948 partition borders but step 1 is Palestine leadership (Hamas) accepts Israel's right to exist. And the Palestinian leadership refuses. So the status quo continues.

      @@cullenkehoe5184holy shit... How blackmailed are you? Do us all a favour and go educate yourself about the actual situation before embarrassing yourself online. Palestinian leaders barely have a voice to say anything about Israel.

      Yes. Never let socialism win. All they do is divide people (homeowners vs renter, young vs old, urban vs rural, race vs race, gender vs gender, minority vs majority) to redistribute wealth and create a polarised toxic society where everyone feels unhappy. Don’t fall for it!

      It's people who are literally the opposite, lol. Your mind is so warped to hate on people who are trying to make things better, while you remain unaware of the actual bad people and corporations. You're directing your anger and frustrations the wrong way.

      Lol, people who "think" they are making things better are really making things worse. People like Chloe are delusional and live in their own little woke bubbles, completely unaware of what's outside. They preach about "acceptance" of all kinds of beliefs and ideas, but are extremely intolerant of anyone that holds different ideas from them. Not surprising you support someone like her. With a name like "the paleo guy" its in your config file as an npc....@@HenrythePaleoGuy

    Within the two first minutes, you can smell the BS. The use of deliberately vague and phony statements with woke fad words thrown in to sound 'progressive.' 'You wield the power to hold politicians to account.' 'Let's unpack that theory of change like structural and systemic change.' 'Changing the cultural landscape.' None of this convinces me that she has any concrete ideas on addressing homelessness, housing, migration, economy, crime, education, health, etc. I didn't like the condescending tone she took with Jack when he challenged some of her statements, she seems set on pushing her views on others whether they like it or not.

    Don't forget the slash crisis Chloe, which was a direct result of the Greens banning the burn of slash. And I didn't hear her mention anything about how to grow the economy and pay for all the stuff they want to do. Jack is starting to be a good interviewer, he gave Chloe not a bad grilling.
