Paul Petersen is a Facebook friend of mine. We have talked on several occasions. He has over 10,000 Facebook friends (yes, he's had to start a few accounts to accommodate all of them). Each year he makes a point of sending a birthday greeting to each of his Facebook friends. He is an absolute joy to know an a real treasure.
He's my friend too I love Paul Peterson and my heart breaks for former child actors Jay North was special
Yes, Paul Petersen is an amazing individual who has helped countless others. May he enjoy better health soon!
Oh And Shelley fabares is Married to M.A.S.H Star Mike Farrell
Super cool ,he was a cutie pie
Wow, you're one of 10K of his closest friends. What a stupid thing to brag about online
I just watched Geraldo’s episode of child stars and he was very abrasive and borderline rude. Really didn’t enjoy it and then this upload was recommended. What a difference! Sally Jesse is amazing and love the way she hosts and treats her guests. ❤️
I watched also and Geraldo seems ok. And I was never a fan.
Ditto!!!
Me too!
I watched that too. I never liked Geraldo. Sally is a breath of fresh air after Geraldo!!!
Geraldo has always been rude!
Paul is indeed the real deal. Has helped many people with A MINOR CONSIDERATION. I reached out to him to help a former classmate. Heartbreaking to see Lani O'Grady, I hope her talk helped someone.
It just helped me! I started with horrible panic attacks after emergency open heart surgery during the pandemic!
Sally J. Raphael was my favorite talk show host. So honest and down to earth. Bless you, dear Sally! I feel sorry for child actors. Patty Duke said she was terribly abused by her adoptive parents when she was a child actor.
Lani O'Grady was a friend of mine. Her mother was my talent agent, and Lani was my manager. Her brother was Don Grady from "My Three Sons". Lani struggled until the very end. Once, I picked her up from rehab at Cedar Sinai Medical Center, and she wanted to go directly to Universal Studios, where she was a season pass holder. We had a very enjoyable day. Then we headed to Universal City Walk for dinner. While we were waiting for our table, Lani went into the restroom, and when she came out, she was barely able to walk. So we ordered our food to go and took it back to her apartment in Burbank, where she recovered. She was so proud when she bought the small trailer in Valencia California, where she eventually passed away from an overdose. Although the coroner was unable to determine if her death was accidental, from my personal experience with her, I am sure that it was accidental. When she would experience a panic attack, she would often overmedicate to the point of blackout. Perhaps that is what happened on the day Lani sadly passed away. She was such a gifted actress and could have had an amazing film career, had it not been for the panic attacks. 💙💙💙
I’m so sorry. I lost my only 17 year old son to an accidental drug overdose. My son was on his high school football team, and had a bright future until he was in a car accident, and required a surgical rod in his arm. Well, when he was released from the hospital, a few days later, they sent him home with alot of Percocet medication. He was in a Children’s Hospital. Because he was only 14 years old. That’s when he became addicted, and then we lose him three years later to an accidental drug overdose. They need to really crack down on these doctors and pediatricians! Thank you for sharing Lani with all of us! May she RIP 🙏
@denisemarie6029 I am sorry for your loss, how tragic. You are correct. I know so many well-known people who believe that they are healthy, yet at the same time , they are taking prescription drugs like candy! My acting coach, the late Jeff Conaway from Grease suffered as well.
Paul Peterson. God Bless. He is so wonderful to have started a minor consideration to protect these child stars and their money. Time and again - the parents and or the agents take all their money
I suffer panic attacks due to ptsd God bless them I completely understand what they struggled with ❤️
I never in my life understood what panic attacks and anxiety attacks were until for some reason I develop them after emergency open-heart surgery surgery during the pandemic! I am the most hard-core person in the world who can control anything and has went through a series of several serious traumas, and never ever had any issue. I thought you had to have an anxiety or some kind of stressor for this to happen little did I know I would become a victim of anxiety attacks. I have gotten better with medication and meditation techniques for the first year and a half after I came out of my surgery I was having to take two Ativan a day every day. Now 60 tablets last six months I’m proud to have made this progress because it was embarrassing for me to go through this. Using Zofran off label has also helped
Wishing you the best!
I deal with PTSD daily too. My prayers go out for you, Lorie. I truly understand your struggles.
watched Donna Reed reruns with mom .I'm 51 Paul Peterson 💙his advocating for child stars even more special.
Back then, child stars were getting ripped off by their parents.
Used to absolutely love these old 90s talk shows and watching these old shows with these folks on Nick at Nite with my grandparents guys
Oh man, I loved Sally! Where is SHE now? ❤
She's 88 and living in Pennsylvania. Hopefully enjoying her retirement.
🙏
Same thing, I was wondering!
I liked Sally so much. Such a nice, honest lady. She loves goats and has many for pets.
The 1st episode of the 1993-95 set and 1993-98 theme song! Awesomeness!
I loved both Eight is Enough & The Donna Reed shows.
RIP Lani O'Grady & Lee Aker
Yes, Lani was a friend. RIP Lee and Lani! 💙🤍💚
I remember The Donna Reed show it was my favorite show
This is a really star-packed episode. It was neat seeing Jay becoming a grandfather.
Wonderful to see all of these people. Makes me sad to learn that they had such a hard time growing up. I’ve known about Paul Peterson for many years. He was such a natural actor and didn’t seem like anything was wrong and of course Shelly and Jay, all of them.anyway it’s just nice to see everybody. Now I’m going to look everyone up and see where they are today. I think I know about one person.
Hers was an excellent show. The best!
Paul Peterson is a savior to these young actors.
I watched all theses shows
Me too
The thing is the things Lani O'Grady was talking about.
The chemicals in her brain.
This would have cutting edge then.
Great to see Lani O'Grady. RIP.
what a great talk show lady i luv sally and her red glasses my friend was her chuffer driver she lived in pailing ny !
So sad that Lee Aeker died at 77 alone - Paul Peterson helped him get a decent burial. And of course Lani.
Sad indeed!
I loved Dennis the Menace.
If we reincarnate into new lifetimes after we die, then I absolutely do not want to begin my next lifetime as a child star!
I don’t know why, but this comment made me laugh so hard
@@alissonjalil4729Hollywood is evil 👿
We definitely reincarnate after we die
I clicked because I saw the book and I had bought it, when I had extra money. I am a total beginner with learning differences and I found the pattern to be hard for me. So glad you are experienced. I donated to Goodwill because if I get so discouraged from my learning differences, I just have to move on. Anyway, thanks for the upload. Take care.
Which book are you referring to
@@alissonjalil4729 LOL I replied to a sewing video here. Sorry about that and good observation. Take care.
thank you so much.I LOVE SALLY!!!!!!Hope u can find more-NOSEY mistreated Sally..........
I was in a show once where I had to sing backup on a 100% straight rendition of "Blood on the Saddle." It was all I could do to keep from giggling.
I adored Lani OGrady on EIE, I wanted her to be my big sister - RIP
She's awful
@@joyceanthony-huff2914care to explain? C#nt
I was so sad to read about her death. I did not hear about it at the time. Believe me, anxiety can be debilitating, and some people will do anything to get a panic attack to stop probably what happened in her case. God bless her soul and may she rest in peace.
@@alissonjalil4729 agree, only recently are we hearing about the huge mental health issues actors and kid stars had to deal with…with next to zero resources. Very sad, way too many suffered in silence.
Lani was such a sweet person. She suffered from panic attacks all the way until the end. I miss her.
Very Very cool video!!thanks for sharing
You're welcome. Thanks for commenting.
Best show for ever
This is very interesting. Melissa Gibert did great working on little house and worked in movies as an adult.
What needs to happen is that it become illegal for any studio to hire anyone under 18.What needs to happen is that money hungry parents and guardians of minor children no longer be allowed to use them as meal tickets. Children should never be forced to become adults and support adults, both at home and in the studios. What needs to happen is that parents should not be able to touch the child's earnings, supposedly protected by the Coogan Law, at all, including for things the child will "benefit" from, new homes, cars, trips. None of this will ever happen because children make money, again for parents as well as studios. The impacts on show business children's lives, health and well being are written on countless gravestones, police reports and rehab rosters, and no one cares. Paul Petersen does the best he can but there isn't alot he can do.
I don’t think that it’s feasible to not hire children actors because then there would be no children in any TV show or movie, which is just ridiculous. However, I do think it should be mandatory for minors under the age of 18 to be assigned outside mediator agents to negotiate on their behalf and keep their money safe and protect them. Someone that is completely neutral from studios and their politics and only has the best interest in the child.
Paul Peterson has done an awful lot to help these kids, who found themselves a drift after their shows, went off the air. Look on Paul’s face when you said that Shelley was there was absolutely magical. I always like to miss a kid, and I love the career that he found for himself and helping these lost souls find themselves again he actually started helping with the legal issues because so many kids had their money stolen. Jay North was fortunate that his mom had integrity. Lonnie O’Grady had a brother that starred on my three sons with a different version of the last name, which was in reality of stage name .
Paul always comments Happy Birthday to my FB page every year! So he’s doing the same with all of his FB friends.
❤ good
My parents named me Denice because of Dennis the Menace.
I was not a fan of “Eight is Enough”, but I’m an Old Hollywood devotee. Just noticed Lani O’Grady’s resemblance to Irene Dunne. Maybe a common Irish ancestry; O’Grady’s last name was really Agrati, but her mother was a Grady.
Her brother played on my three sons…
I was never a fan of that show, either. I think it’s because I was never a fan of Dick Van Patten. Not that there was anything wrong with him, I just didn’t really like watching him as an actor. Plus, I guess the same with Love Boat. It was kind of a useless show to watch and the show that followed it (if I remember correctly), Fantasy Island, was also lame. Shows were kind of boring back during that time, in my opinion. Very repetitive story lines.
@@dcole2133Oh yeah, Robbie. 👍
She was a very unattractive woman.
Grady (or in Lani's case, O'Grady) was a stage name. Their last name was Agrati. Italian family.
Wesley wasn't using his last name at the time - it was edited out here - but it's Eure. He's on Facebook and uses it.
When Wesley was on Land of the Lost wasn't he billed only by the first name?
@@emerybaybluesYes, I believe so.
Jay North is a very handsome man. Too bad he had so much tension and stress growing up. Being a child star is rough.....
Didnt Loni OGrady die of a drug overdose?yes she died in September 2001 living in a trailer sh never did get 100% better what a shame
Yes, it is a shame. Lani suffered until the very end with panic attacks and over self medicating. When she bought the trailer, she was so proud and thought it would be a new beginning for her. Sadly, it wasn't. I miss her. 😢
❤
👋🏾 😊💐😃
What people don't know is that Paul Peterson was the 1st Mouseketeer fired due to his behavior on and off the set. He would walk up to an adult stage hand and punch them in the stomach and other places knowing they couldn't do anything about it. He was the quintessential brat. He got the role on the Donna Reed show but future endeavors didn't happen so he eventually became this crusader for other child actors and now he's the great St. Paul. Oh, he's become a "celebrity" again but in a different genre. My information comes from several former child actors who will remain nameless that had the misfortune of working with him. They know the truth and were witness to his male Diva/Brat behavior. Believe what you want but don't be taken in by his selfless generosity. Though some good may have been done for a few, he achieved a goal, he has managed to get his name back in the press.
Not that it matters, but I looked and Jill is on her 3rd marriage. Not sure if her first was the one she was engaged to here.
Jay North and a slew of other actors are why I dont idealize the past. Not to mention my own life growing up in the 60s
Jay North is handsome
Jay North was good in the 1974 , movie 🍿,the Teacher
I think about the laws protecting their money but are there la was protecting their physical being.
Wonder what happened to Sally?
Is it just me,or is Jay North, maybe HIGH?
If Jay North's mom took care of his money how come she left him with the abusive Aunt & Uncle?
Because they lived near the studio.
@@GrannieLee
Right.
Because she wasn't using Jay's money for bills? Car, housing
She was working full time and couldn’t be with him.
Do You Have Any Interviews Of Glenn Scarpelli From One Day At A Time
Nothing immediately comes to mind but now that I know you're interested in Glenn Scarpelli, I'll keep an eye open. Thanks for asking; it's always good to know what folks are looking for.
He appeared on an episode of Stars in The House (here on RUclips) with the cast and some creators from One Day At A Time, including Norman Lear. It’s a series started during the pandemic to benefit the Actor’s Fund. Group interviews conducted thru zoom. He seemed well. The show also did another zoom gathering of various 80s child actors from TV and he appeared on that one as well.
So sad the miserable experience he had. The pressure was tremendous as he was in every shot. He worked for his salary whatever it was. Then going home to a miserable life with parents who treated him poorly. The insisted he eat lunch alone and not in the canteen with the other young stars. Sad very sad
What About Adrian Zmed
Adrian Zmed was hot in Grease 2 and T. J. Hooker.
I saw Adrian in the movie Bachelor Party with Tom Hanks, he hosted the last season or two of Dance Fever, he did a reality type retrospective show “Confessions Of A Teen Idol” , I didn’t see him in anything else until a guest appearance on The Steve Harvey Tv Show.
Like Bonnie Franklyn and Adrian Zmed.
What about Peter North, what ever happened to him ?😂
“Chemical imbalance” an excuse like my thyroid causes my obesity.
Wow scraping the bottom of the barrel. For stars lol
Hardly, but these folks had real issues, which is what we’re talking about.
Hated 8 Is Enough. Too corny.
