      Jhony Melavo yes, and either way the version of this etude on solo piano sounds far better than this rendition. Imo, even in the case of the majority of trained players, the theremin is an inorganic sounding instrument, especially at higher pitches.

      @@bearmouse1000 I disagree with the idea that the theramin having an inorganic sound is a bad thing. Electric sounding music is quite beautiful in the right hands.

      Crispy Chicken i agree, but I’ve heard so many theramin players and only one has truly impressed me with their art. In higher pitches, players are too often not delicate enough with their motions making the theremin sound more like a slide whistle

    Had he lived to hear the theremin, I imagine Scriabin would have loved the instrument given how other-wordly his music was. What could be better than *the* mystic composer writing for the most supernatural of instruments?

      In fact Nikolai Obukhov (one of the many disciples of Scriabin's mystical music) came to create an instrument similar to the theremin, with the only difference that his was shaped like a cross.

    Whoa. When it gets to the high notes it kinda sounds like a woman’s operetta(?) and when it goes lower than that it sounds like some mix between an instrument and someone humming... Fascinating. Thank you for the great video by the way!!!

      Maybe you mean "soprano"? An operetta is a short opera.

    you can clearly hear the improvement he had with this instrument, especially when its so hard to hit the right notes, and now he is hitting them spot on and still with feel

    As a fan, I have one humble request. Please play "Panis Angelicus" on the theremin. I feel the instrument is especially suitable, and it would be a dream come true to hear you play.

    I almost thought the mustache was a tribute to Scriabin’s own until your saw the other video. 😂 Anyway, this is exceptional. It’s amazing to see what this instrument is capable of and what a great interpretation and performance of one of my absolute favorite Scriabin pieces.

    Alors là je suis bluffée, je vous ai découvert grâce à la vôtre reprise du Clair de Lune; passionnée de musique, je ne connaissais pourtant pas du tout cet instrument. Merci pour cette merveilleuse découverte, qui plus est avec un jeu très juste et précis, ce qui ne doit pas être facile sur un tel instrument. 1000 fois bravo!

    J'adore la tonalité que tu donnes à ton instrument, à la fois douce et présente. Certains theréministes(?) ont la mauvaise manie de les ajuster avec une telle brillance pour sortir du lot que c'en est parfois intolérable! :)

    There used to be a great boy who played the theremin and everyone was really amazed by him. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the boy, master of all theremin, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished.
