@@alan-reacts65 My welcoming you saying we have cookies and weed here is more just me reminiscing to a time in the early 90s when a beautiful female greeted me and welcomed me to her house party she was having. At the time, she couldn't have had made me feel more welcome than she did with that cute flirtatious little phrase. It was a very fun and interesting evening. Once in a while that moment and greeting come flooding back. Often I feel a need to pass it along to someone because it brings me back to that moment. Most of the time that I drop it on someone, it's without context and isn't really applicable. Like you today. I would hope guys our age would be sober. At least for the most part.
It probably sounds odd, because we've never met, but I feel a kindred spirit in you when I'm watching you. The way you connect with the music and how strongly it moves you is amazing. Not many people have such an honest rawness in connecting with song s and bands. I am very similar in that way. It's fun to watch. You're a breed apart, as far as reaction channels go. Keep grinding. I hope your channel blows up for you.
It sounds as though you have a good familiarity with Metallica. They were a huge part of my youth and subsequent life. I was at the Seattle 1989 shows that they filmed for their Binge & Purge box set. The 1st show sold out in like 12mins, the old-fashioned way by us kids standing in line at a ticketmaster outlet. They immediately added a second show that also sold out in less than 15mins, if I recall correctly. The shows they captured on film from those 2 shows were absolutely ELECTRIC. The energy between the fans and band was incredible. I've never seen them play and sound that tight ever since. I've seen them a dozen times and they never disappoint, but they captured magic those 2 nights in Seattle in 1989.
I don't suppose you would react to Creeping Death from Seattle 1989 for me, would you? If you haven't seen that performance, you won't be disappointed. If not, I understand. I'll be watching your videos regardless and wishing the best for you

I bought this after Mindcrime and it's more subdued but I still love it. The title track is great and a callback to Mindcrime, "Jet City Woman" is great, but I'm biased being from Seattle (Bellevue is a city across the lake, where I grew up - they're from Bellevue, too!) and "Silent Lucidity" is a gorgeous lullaby with an orchestra. Mindcrime will always be my favorite, probably my favorite metal album of all time, but Queensryche have an impressive catalog and career longevity that only the titans of their craft enjoy. 🔥🤘😠🤘🔥

Good, thoughtful, insightful reaction! I like that you didn't get hung up on the video. So many do. And you're very right. It was indicative of the times. I noticed it was slightly out of sync too. Annoying. Queensryche has been my favorite band (original lineup) for over three decades! They are fantastic live, and are amazing songwriters. They have quite a variety of songs in their catalog.
Their 3rd full album "OPERATION: MINDCRIME" is a very highly regarded concept album telling a complicated story in flashback about corruption, exploitation, revolution, mind control, betrayal, social unrest, deception, love, murder, etc. It is best if you hear the songs in order as you will get the full meaning of the lyrics as the story unfolds. A MUST listen -- the more you listen to it the better it gets. It's part of my DNA now. I never get tired of their music!
A few songs to get you started (I think you'll REALLY enjoy this band musically, vocally, and lyrically).
    1. "TAKE HOLD OF THE FLAME" live in Tokyo 1984. From their first LP. They were green, but you'd hardly know it. Geoff''s VOCALS!! Tight band!
    2. "ROADS TO MADNESS". Also from their first ablum. Epic 10" song. Intriguing lyrics. Think of the movie: "Flatliners". Also Geoff at his most expressive. He is a fearless singer!
    3. "SPEAK" from Operation: Mindcrime" (O:MC).
    4. "WALK IN THE SHADOWS" from their second album. It's about vampires, lots of energy.
    5. "THE MISSION" from O:MC about denial and regret.
There are more great ones on O:MC, but you should really hear them in order. And so many other great ones, it's just hard to pick.
Geoff has an incredible voice! And had a 4-octave range in his prime. In the first two albums he sang predominantly in his higher register. In later albums he brought in more of his lower range.
I've gone on WAY too long! There's just SO much to say about Queensryche!
I hope you check them out further. You sound like you'd appreciate what they can do musically and lyrically. Good reaction! I hope you do more QR reactions too!

Yes! Geoff IS intelligent, as are all the guys in the band. One of the things I really liked about the band was the beautiful balance of the heavy elements and the melodic. Chris and Michael (both lead guitars) usually incorporate twin guitar sections where they play together in tight harmony. And I LOVE that they write about interesting things, NOT girls, partying, and drugs.
Geoff is responsible for the lion's share of the lyrics, along with guitarist Chris DeGarmo.
Well, anyway, you'll see, or rather, hear for yourself.
