It's delightful to see others that truly appreciate music and lyrics get to experience this and other great songs of Joni, for the first time! 🥰 There is SO much variety and diversity to her music and lyrics throughout her decades of writing, performing, producing and recording. And the artwork she created/painted for many of her album covers is amazing too. Yes, her voice changed over the years, but she found new ways to express her lyrics along with those changes, much like the ups and downs of those ponies on the carousel! 🥰

I remember first hearing this album way back in the early eighties when I was just starting to get seriously into music and thinking even as 16 year old what a masterpiece this was. I think we have all been weekend millionaires when we got our first wage packet.

Genesis , up until then there were 3 were the best live band I ever saw . I saw every tour during their early years . Musically outstanding , always entertaining and visually compelling live . You must watch some live show videos of them from 71 to 76 , a journey you'll never forget ❤

Joe Cocker is the ultimate cover artist! I love Traffic because of the jazzy/psychedelic/prog rock feel. Jim Capaldi is an awesome drummer (I think I've been paying more attention to drummers lately). Chris Wood played both sax and flute in different songs. "Dear Mr. Fantasy" and "John Barleycorn Must Die" are also must=listens

Yes, this is an homage to Buddy Guy. Albert King and Buddy Guy were the guys that he looked to. He once said that his life changed when he heard his first Albert King record. That record is what inspired him to play.

Hawkwind, before Lemmy left, was the 2nd or 3rd concert I ever went to. I hear a lot of that space rock influence, just missing the heavy electronics. A lot of the themes are similar, but the echo'-y vocals take me right back to Hawkwind. He just added the hard rock/punk element. He needed a different space and time

I always felt like SRV was an open medium channeling music seamlessly and effortlessly like no other guitarist has ever done. His vocal was underrated. He died in 1990 at the age of 36 in a helicopter crash, and what more would he have given us had he lived? RIP SRV, TY for the music you left us. Some must listens: Pride and Joy, Leave My Little Girl Alone, Couldn’t Stand The Weather, Little Wing, Ain’t Gonna Give Up On Love, Blues At Sunrise (With Albert King). I enjoyed your reaction, TY.

Actually, Rory Gallagher WAS AROUND in 1969. His band "Taste" was formed in 1966 and lasted until 1970. In November 1968, the band, along with Yes, opened at Cream's farewell concerts.
