I am not a Kanaka Maoli and I have never been to this sandbar spot. I am not interested in drinking parties anywhere. I will take that pledge just because I respect Hawaiians and their right to have sacred spaces preserved. From Oakland CA 2022

i am hawaiian and i dont have a problem with people usi g the sandbar as long as they clean up after themselves. its selfish for that woman to say no one should go there. Hawaiians was always about sharing the land, something she has forgotten.

Not always. Before westerners came to Hawaii, there was a caste system (kapu). If you were born to a sweet potato farmer, you’re most likely going to be a sweet potato farmer. Also, bans were set in place with the threat of violence if broken. Also, the sexes were segregated. Things weren’t always shared. In fact, things were often fought over (king kamehameha using western warfare to conquer the island chain).

Hawaiians was always about sharing the land for haoles to get drunk and desecrate sacred sites? I don’t think so. Sounds like maybe you were a Hawaiian raised in Oregon

Share not exploit, I get that feeling when I paddle OC1 out there 6am before the boats arrive and 7pm after the boats leave.
Touch the land with your bare hands& feet sometimes

Always remember whenever there is an organization saying 'its sacred for Hawaiians" means they want to exploit it for their pwn purposes…$$$$…
