    That Auckland's match has won Naomi worldwide fame & thousands of fans. Legend has it that she'll visit tournaments to check on the ball kids whenever & wherever Ostapenko is playing.. 😀

    • Julie Coin is the coach of Madison Brengle (at least according to her Wikipedia page)
    • Panova is still active, but has found more success in doubles. Recently winning in Hamburg with Anna Danilina
    • Pereira is doing well, “I tell ya!”
    • Maria Sakkari is no longer featured in the intro due to her recent title win in Guadalajara. 🙌🏼

    I'm a Brazilian and Teliana Pereira is now a former tennis player, but I'm so happy that she's had the opportunity to play Serena at such a great tournament! She's now a commentator at ESPN in Brazil, always great to watch matches and listen to her experienced talks ❤🇧🇷🎾

    I watch doubles lmao, so I still caught Panova here and there. She won Hamburg with Danilina this year
    I purely forgot Coin tho, and Greta Arn was really on fire that week, she won Auckland eventually

    I remember Broady played Ostapenko a few years later in doubles at Stuttgart, but I missed the match and I can’t find any footage of it 😭 I would pay to see that handshake

    Swiatek was lucky to get through that match against kerkhove. Then she lost to alize cornet, and was hopelessly out of form for most of the us open … then she won it 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😊😊😊

      us open run was really bad - thought it couldnt get worse then Coco wins hitting 11 winners. Sabalenka with 40 EU?

      @@deusexmachina9776 the early rounds were terrible, and i just assumed she was on her way out ... then she came good at the end. Bit like the men's, the g.o.a.t. era is over, it's a weaker era, but still pretty good.

      @@dnisbet71 last year was just bad for women's tennis, i can never understand how Iga dominated when there were clear weaknesses in her game. everyone else was so bad. at least now player 'figured her out'. but still really low quality tennis, only slam final worth remembering these 2 years, since Barty left really, is SABLENKA vs RYBAKINA.
      at least Alcaraz is there to save tennis for the next 15 years lol.

    Interesting idea for a video but what is Gréta Arn doing here?
    She was a top 40 players with wins over Pierce, Azarenka, Molik (while Molik was in the top 10), etc.

      Yes she was a great player, poor thing had a lot of injuries in her career.
      Fun fact, she made a comeback in 2017 at the age of 38 and won her third biggest tournament (60k) obliterating all her opponents.
      COVID cut her comeback in half though.

    Harmony Tan literally beat Serena in the first round of a major for only the second time in Serena’s career and then dipped. Never to be heard from again.

    Williams was simply bad on clay. I cannot grasp how she won Rolland Garros twice (if I am not wrong). Look at her movement. It is laughable. Really, she simply did not have proper competition.

      I’m no Williams fan but this is ridiculous. She won 3 RG titles (not 2) and 13 overall titles on clay. She also won 83% of all her matches on clay, which is third best in the 21st century behind Swiatek and Henin. She can’t be that bad, lol.
