  • I've been looking around for a laser comparable to the xTool D1 20W. Atomstack said they had exactly what I was looking for I decided to test that theory and have them send me one for testing.
    Make sure you watch this video if you are in the market to buy a small business production laser/engraver. You may just be surprised.

      Robert, I can say I highly recommend this laser. It is comparable to the xTool in cutting and and engraving and a bit cheaper. Is it an xTool? No. lol But it's a good one. I should be releasing the ATEZR review in two weeks. That thing is a beast. But, if your only need a 10w laser head, the Longer Ray5 10w is fantastic for the money.

      @@MoonpieCreations This is one that is near the top of my list, but I also like the Ortur for the price and what people are saying they’re cutting/engraving with it.

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  Год назад +1

      @@CrossCutCreations Out of the higher quality ones I have tested. xTool, Ortur LM3, ATEZR P20, Atomstack A20, TS3 with enclosure I would rank the Ortur near the bottom. Just above the TS3. Just didn't work as well for me as I thought it should. Not saying it's bad, just saying the others were very easy to use and connect. They all cut well right out of the box. The Ortur and TS3 had issues I had to figure out. I'm working on a comparison video for these five.

    Interesting. You have really tried several things in this video. Just curious, could one of these diode lasers be used to precision braise metals together?

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  Год назад

      I don't know about this diode laser, but they use diode lasers for brazing in a lot of manufacturing.

    That’s actually a good price for a decent laser. How does it do on acrylic? I’ve used a big Glowforge in the past to engrave pens I’ve turned and even it struggled with some of the materials. Glowstonz (from woodturninz)in particular were hard to etch. I’d made a moon pen for one of the guys on the Artemis project and it was a struggle.

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  Год назад +1

      It cuts it very well. I haven't gotten into the engraving yet, but will be doing a video on that in a month or so.

    When you list your speed and power, are you using inches or mm per min? I'm assuming MM.

    • @MoonpieCreations
      @MoonpieCreations  Год назад +1

      I use mm/min. It is what is recommended for Diode lasers by the maker and Lightburn.
