A very fair question, thank you for asking. In a word, yes, but let me expound. I'm receiving a crazy amount of offers from different brands, of varying capabilities and cost points. I've turned quite a few down, but have reviewed 4 so far, at $300, $550, $700, and now this one at $1k. My goal in doing so was to take advantage of the offers in a way that made sense, so I could actually provide good information for anyone, with the bad economy and differing budgets in mind. If I had no actual working interest in a laser engraver, I'd have continued to say no to incoming offers, but I do and I'll be using them more and more on different projects as my competence level with the tools and computer software grows. So, all that being said, again, yes I would, but only if my budget allowed it. I know you asked me for a one-word answer and got a paragraph, lol... but I hope it helps everyone see why I'm doing what I'm doing. Fact...I couldn't do any of it without you all, and I'm very grateful and blessed. Thank you for the question, Tim! -Rod
Thanks for watching and commenting! Please remember, if there's no verified checkmark by my name in the comments, it isn't me. The scammers are using my name and photo, and are replying to your comments... so beware. I'm doing everything I can to report and remove/block them as quick as I can.
Thanks for the demo Rod. I just got the Atomstack S20 Pro (same machine, just in silver) still learning and so far I'm very pleased. I did get roller unit also.
For someone that claims they are not tech savvy, you did some fantastic work. I think you have a awesome machine. I can see where it would fun to own one. Really nice work.
Thank you, Ronnie. Tech problems are driving me nuts at the moment. Up late dealing with a computer crash that will possibly cost me days of work and delayed video publications.... Grrr... But thank you!
Another cool review, MSgt Humphrey. Like I said in an earlier review, companies who send you product to review trust your word. After all, they put their reputation on the line and spend a lot of money getting an honest review from someone they apparently trust. To me, this signals your day has arrived due to the great videos you make turning wood. Folks have come to trust what you tell them because of the quality of videos. So why shouldn’t a manufacturer of engravers trust you, as well? They realize their product can be used in the wood turning world and rely upon your review to market their product. OUTSTANDING!!!👍👍👍👍👍 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Temper Fi
With out a doubt. I miss that power my 69 Malibu had LOL. I have tested the Laser Pecker and the Ortur Laser Master 3. Both are pretty cool machines. I have just made a program to help with some of my segment work. Off to test it soon.
Hi Rod, That is an impressive laser. The results on Glass and the Stainless Steel knife were fantastic. I have just bought the LaserPecker 2, review to follow, and I'm over the moon with it for what I want to use it for, Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Good evening, Rod. Thank you for this review. Lasers are really interesting machines. I see incredible potential. All the best to you. See you next time around. S/F
Once again Rod, thank you for your review which we trust implicity. I'm in the market for a laser machine as in addition to woodturning, I also make some furniture for our own use. I like to add a little decoration to some of my "pieces". This machine seems to very high quality and ideal for my needs. The price is as I expected it to be. I have Festool power tools which cost almost as much. Semper Fi
Thank you very much, my friend, I appreciate that. I'll be incorporating some laser action into more of my regular videos as well. I've looked at Festool products and would love to convert over to them some day 😊
bonjour je n'arrive pas coupé correctement 5mm il noircie le bois et avec 3 passages il ne le coupe pas svp quelle est vous configs pour découpe aussi bien sur 12 mm aidez moi
That's a nice machine, and the interface options are very nice--not having to find a way to pull things off the phone to a thumb drive to get them in is a plus. Mind, a few more of these, and you'll need a "Which one to keep" video . . .
As others have commented, a bit expensive for me but still it looks like a very good piece of equipment. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
they place a barrier between the clear glass and the laser. Without it the diode laser would pass through the glass without etching it. I was just trying out different materials.
Thanks for a very comprehensive yet concise review of a DIY tool that I have been researching for a while Robert. Although I have not checked any of your other videos on laser engravers, not sure if you have either knowledgeable or have used a few of the other popular (Ortur, X-Tool, etc.) diode laser tools? If so would be very useful for your follow-up to brief comparative pros and cons between them. Greetings from NC
I am new to engraving. I have the A20 Pro and I am having trouble getting the rotary tool to work. Do you have a video of step by step on how to set it up and settings for the LightBurn software?
Thank you for the video. I am looking at the X7. My question is with reference to engraving cylinders. Do you know how small of a diameter that accessory will print on? I'm hoping it will engrave the handle of a pool cue. Thanks again for the video. Bill
You're very welcome, Bill! with the accessory R3 Pro, for cylinder engraving, Atomstack says it is good for items as small as pens and bullets. I haven't tried these things yet, but I do find Atomstack to be a company that puts out quality products. search for that accessory and read up on the capabilities, and you'll find many examples. The challenge for a pool cue would be the length and balance of it during the lasing. Hope that helps!
Good morning! 1000/50% power with M4 dynamic for etching... I can't remember the pattern, but I used dithering too. You're very welcome, thanks for watching!
I recommend this machine with confidence. Prices seem to be coming down a bit too... The material would determine if this would be good for a mobile cover. To my knowledge this would not be good for engraving plastics. The Atomstack M4 on the other hand is well suited for such engraving.
I just measure everything, the wood, the size of the engraving or cutting, and then in the software (laser GRBL or Lightburn) I assign the dimensions I need. I then position the laser on the project center point, again using the software, position the wood, focus the laser, frame it using the software to verify positioning, and then run the program. That's it in a nutshell. Hope that helps... follow up if it doesn't and I'll clarify if I'm able.
Good review. Would you buy one with your own hard earned cash?

You're very welcome, John, glad it was helpful! I'm really impressed with it. And that R3 Rotary roller is very high quality... solid and weighty.
That is a really nice engraver. You always know you’ll get an honest review from a Marine. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you, Kevin, I appreciate that.
Very nice! This laser seems a little more detailed than the others. The quality seems better. It’s alway fun to see what you have to share!😁

John, Marine, I really appreciate your support and encouragement. Semper Fidelis, brother.
Another great review Rod. Seems very powerful. I sure like what it did on the glass.
Take care,

Thanks, Gary! It's the most powerful I've reviewed...more power is always a good thing!

Thank you, Ray, they really are, and I do as well. Friday for some woodworking, S/F brother.

I’m impressed it come with some options such as air assistance and the Honeycomb bed included.
It's a very nice air assist with pulse control, but the honeycomb bed is an accessory, sorry if I made that unclear.

Thank you very much! Looking forward to a nice, caffeinated fire.
Great review Rod.
Thank you kindly
WOW! What an interesting bit of tech! One is able to do so much with it! Thanks for showing it to us! To honor your service: Semper Fi! God bless you!
Thanks very much, my friend! Yes, so much potential! (you might see this one in use again on Friday...)
@@RHumphrey COOL!!
What's the purpose of the painter's tape and paint for bottles and glass?

I don't have a specific video for that, but check out this detailed video on The Laser Channel: ruclips.net/video/lK-CAxeQQnc/видео.html
so very cool! lucky guy with a new toy!
Thanks, Luie!
Thanks for sharing that, good luck!
Thank you too!
Do you just need to center the laser over the center of the item you’re etching or do you need to do all that framing in the light burn software?
What kinds of material can this cut? I'm thinking of uses like knife and multi-tool handle scales.
there's not much it can't cut... wood, acrylic, even 0.05 stainless steel sheets, though I didn't test that. Good idea!
Thank you for the video. I am looking at the X7. My question is with reference to engraving cylinders. Do you know how small of a diameter that accessory will print on? I'm hoping it will engrave the handle of a pool cue. Thanks again for the video.

Hello can this cut clear acrylic?
Hello! No, unless there is a trick I'm unaware of. To my knowledge, CO2 lasers are able to do this...
Thanks for sharing this laser. ❤
You're very welcome, and thanks for watching, Maddie!
Good morning . The glass engraving was done with 1000 speed and 80 power, but did you set M 3 or M4? I have GRBL software. Thank you

It's really cool.
Out of my price range I'm sure.
I like this one a lot, but yes, it's on the more expensive side. More power. Thanks for watching, Steven!
omg your audio doubled and i was looking around my room as if someone was in here with me lol
Thanks for watching, Raptor! I just reviewed the video and couldn't find the issue. Could have been a YT playback glitch?
Just curious, are you using laser goggles when using these?
Yes. They're included with the laser. Gotta protect the peepers!
Don’t need a laser but I want a Lulu. 🥰
haha! Lulu sure is a cute little fuzzball! She's occupying my sister's heart 😊
Yeah I really don’t have a thousand bucks lying around at the moment but I’ll gladly take one of the several you have….lol
I completely understand what you're saying.
Wery cool thing!
It really is. I'll be playing with this one more...
