The mazda 626 is still a good one. Very reliable, suitable for long distance journeys, you can go on any long journey without fear. The parts are readily available, fuel economy is also top notch and its also very good looking and reliable.

In my professional opinion, the only vehicles on this list that warrant consideration are the Honda Civic, CRV, and Acura. I strongly advise against considering the Hyundai.

Diesel cars are harder to maintain here...yes diesel is more expensive but that fuel consumption on diesel is better than petrol cars. The real problem is maintenance, not enough good diesel mechanics

After that, buy a vehicle that works best for ya purpose of NEEDING a car. My 1st vehicle as a 1st time car owner is a 2008 Toyota 4runner. It works best for my purpose. And it cost approximately triple of 5m. I saved up and waited till I could "conveniently" afford it. Why rush into what you can not consistently maintain, and that cannot consistently serve ya personal purpose? If you follow any other MINOR reason for buying a car, you'll regret it. Cheers!
