@@supcoachcal went good I did a small showcase and improved my velo from 78 to 80 in a month using these. These drills with some band work are working good.
@@supcoachcal hello! I had a question been on a throwing program for a while now and ive been pulling down max at 83 with a 5 oz ball but i was able to throw a 8 oz ball at 79. Would you know what my velo is with a regular ball since making these gains?
I’m 14 throwing 75-77 and topped out at 78, trying to throw 82-84 next year and trying to throw as much as I can. I’m a really young 9th grader so trying to hit 90 junior year and sit low 90s senior year
@@supcoachcal after starting to get lessons and starting to workout, I am sitting around 80 mph and still 2 or three months till the season starts, so definitely seeing progress and just trying to continue it now.
Can you make a video on how throwing distance translates to pitching velocity and how to translate how far you can throw a baseball to how hard you should be throwing off the mound? For example if someone can throw a baseball 340 feet they should probably throw 90 plus off the mound. Can you also talk about how to fix throwing with a low elbow at foot plant on regular throws and when pitching? Thanks for all the content you make, I love your videos man.
Yes thank you I am back in baseball season and I am only 10 but I play d1. Yesterday I pitched 4 innings out of six and let up 2 runs but thank you I will start training to throw harder and faster
I’m also a catcher but something I do is a rotation drill. Ur on ur knees and rotate ur torso and ur glove towards the base. Make sure to have a small arm slot. U don’t wanna have a long motion. Also for harder u could push off ur back foot more. GL
Dude where are you located I need to hit you up I'm literally the same height and stature as you or at least it used to be and I think I was around the same be low as a outfielder and sometimes picture back in the day
@@horserobloxgirl1656 I suggest using arm bands, and working your hips. Utilize you let’s, and use your biggest muscles. Use your shoulders and not you elbow when throwing
I can make a part 2 to this and explain it best there but essentially practicing the sequence starting from ground zero. feet, legs, chain. Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has a pre game routine involving this. look up his warmup or "dance" and you'll see what Im talking about
I've never had my velo clocked but I throw harder than my teammates who throw 75 they're sophomores I'm a freshman. I'll try these drills out hopefully they help. I plan on getting clocked in the next 2 months so hopefully my velo goes up.
@@thekhanbrothers4305 you’ll prolly be at 90-95 as long as you keep your arm healthy. Hit the weights hard, find a routine that works for you. Stick to a consistent throwing schedule. And there’s no doubt in my mind if you do all of that correctly you will be throwing 90-95
@@supcoachcal He’s tall and skinny. 10yo, 50”, 85lbs. He’s coming off adhd meds so he’s finally hungry again! I’ll get him in the yard squatting bags of dog food this weekend!
Have a throwing program. Long Toss and be aware of biomechanics. Weight room + Nutrition... Those are the biggest tips I got! How many of those do you check off?
It's not about strength. Be loose and explosive. Try to remain as loose as you can so that when you unwind your arm cracks like a whip. It's kinda like how Bruce Lee described punching. Stay loose until the point of impact, that's when you tense up and make a fist.
It’s a long term plan. You’ll gain the velocity as long as you put in the detailed work every day and not get discouraged if you’re not where you want to be

Great video. Lots of tips. Question - can goalkeepers use the same drills to improve their throwing?
The Drills certainly will.
