This video I swear to all of you gets me through the toughest of times. I watch this when I'm sad, I watch this when I feel beaten, and I watch this when I'm ready to give up on everything. When I watch this I feel a boost of strength in my soul. This video is like a motivation speech for me. Every step I take in life if feels like a 1000 miles but I still keep going, because I know that if I give up now I will live the rest of my life in regret and shame and that is not what I want to live with. I want to live every day of my life pushing forward no matter how difficult the path is and no matter what obstacles stand in my way I will keep walking until I die. I cant say that I am the wisest person who ever lived or the smartest but what I have learned is that no matter how many times you fail or lose you are never a loser as long as you never give up.
Okay, HOW are democracy and freedom opposite things? While no system has proven infallible by any stretch of the imagination, Democracy in it's premise works to let people choose who their leaders are, so by definition it seems a good fit for the idea of freedom. MIND YOU I am fully aware of how horrible the USA is today, and as I stated, no system is infallible , but the bare bones, basic structure of a government chosen by the people is fundamentally a system meant to work WITH the people. I will say however that when he states "In the name of democracy" it does feel almost like it was propaganda, but taken in the spirit of his speech, it's a sincere use of that noun for what it was intended for, not the clown show and broken shell it is today.
I think that's a little unfair, I'm certain Chaplin's speech is more close to his heart, especially if he wrote it (I do not know) , but it's unfair to state that the actors did not mean what they said, as I'm sure those talented actors HAD to intend what they said to speak iwith such conviction. It's more fair to point out that Chaplin's speech was original to him (And possibly written by him, again though I do not know this for certain).
I’ll never forget when our high school football coach played this speech from Any Given Sunday to motivate us for the second half....AND.....we had a worse 2nd half than the 1st. For any coaches/future coaches, use your OWN words to motivate your players. They will respect you if they feel it’s from the heart.
Indeed. the football one, It's so fake for every single listener to stand the exact same, hands crossed over their crotch, which is not possible in the real world.
“Villains that twirl their moustache are easy to spot, but villains that cloak themselves in good deeds utilize a good camouflage. We’ve caught this one, but there will always be people like this. Waiting for the right climate in which to flourish” I’m paraphrasing, but that speech is my favourite in cinematic history.
I like when he says in The Measure Of A Man, " Your Honour, the courtroom is a crucible. In it we burn away irrelevancies until we are left with a pure product, the truth for all time." 👍
how it is possible that the speech made 70 years ago it is so true today, I am a teacher and I will show the speech of Charlie Chapline to my learners, in this world of machine minds and machine hearts it is necessary to remember the humanity, it almost made me cry.
Its true today b/cuz "history always repeats itself". This world we live in strides on feeling superior to others, instead of going your own path, and love all who comes in your path.
Don't forget that Charlie Chaplins speech came out during ww2 one year into the war he made this movie. When the movie came out there were rumours that Adolf Hitler demanded a copy to watch in his private cinema and even was a big fan of Charlie. Just knowing that makes his speech even more impactful
The Rocky speech is actually the best speech in my opinion. It talks about accepting responsibility for your own life. People today need to learn that.
Every line in CC's speech can be broken down and studied. In his autobiography he wrote, "I am not religious in the dogmatic sense ... I neither believe nor disbelieve in anything ... My faith is in the unknown, in all that we do not understand by reason; I believe that ... in the realm of the unknown there is an infinite power for good". In a class of his own.
@@justinthegreatponte3170 You’re not stupid, it just takes time to learn abstract concepts. Not all meaning will jump out at you. Sometimes you have to dig deeper, through the metaphor, through the alliteration, through the philosophy. Good luck.
How I missed that speech of Chaplin is beyond me, but what profound words, in a comedy, but so true and already now for so long! Nothing changed, or little things changed, yet the larger scheme of things hardly did. Gave me goosebumps and shuddered my core. Damn! All the other speeches were glorious in their own right, but that one was and is about life rather than fiction… and it hurt. A lot.
The last speech was the most truthful and inspiring of them all, and it also holds true today possibly more than ever the words he spoke the rest of us really need to heed those words before it's too late IMHO
It’s how it’s done in theater too, think of all those monologues- movies used to be like that, because of theater and yeah the cameras were big AF and the way film was - it’s easier to have more takes now, not easier acting I think but more helpful
“You can’t handle the truth!!” Some of the best courtroom drama ever acted out....the way he gets the truth out of him is nothing short of a master stroke!
When he made "The Great Dictator" the world did not know the truth about the concentration camps Chaplin said he would not have made a movie making fun of the Nazi's had he known. This speech shows why he was meant to do it.
“It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” Sly Stallone is a brilliant screenwriter AND actor and doesn’t get proper credit for either.
Nature takes care of us. Let us benefit only as much as we need. I have never listened such a speech. You know Saints are the soul God. This is a saint speech. Let us serve saintly people in need and punish human animals whom God made humans but their deeds are that of animals. Much honored to listen to this speech. Let us finish off evils who capture others land who are murderers who kidnaps woman.
The best part of the Gladiator speech is when Maximus gives the legionnaires salute to Quintus as they’re leaving. A reminder of Quintus’ loyalty to the crown, yet betrayal of their brotherhood.
Too much of a coincidence... yesterday I listened to this techno remix with these Rocky Balboa's lines in it... and today I saw this video with the full speech... full alignment!
That last speech is what we need in this world too people die for money or land and so many big shots forget what it really means to treat others with respect and understanding, as guy who came from so much and pain that would much people won't understand

A well-written speech is 100x more captivating than any action scene modern filmmaking can make today. It's a crime that screenwriting teachers tell writers to avoid long speeches. Don't write long speeches? Go look at the films of Tarantino and come back to me on that one. Yeah. That's what I thought you said. Audiences and actors alike thrive on long speeches, they revel in it.
These are all great speeches but I wish Miracle made the list that's one of the most inspiring "Great Moments- are born from great opportunity...........now GO OUT THERE AND TAKE IT!"
The irony of one of the greatest speeches ever made was done by a man whom never spoke in most of his movies. Chaplin was a genius.
Charles Croley Amen to that! The Great Dictator speech, to me, is the absolute BEST ever!
Moving oration from a stereotyped mime actor. Incredible. Chaplin blinked only twice in a three and a half minute monologue.
Speech is all time for it’s delivery and the truth it holds. He was speaking right to the people on that one
Absolute genius . Yes ironic like Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd, all geniuses now part of human history !
You're obviously not familiar with his later work. And that was from the great dictator it was meant to be the opposite of Hitler yet portraying him

You know a speech is great when it send shivers down your spine, even though its the 50th time you've seen it
Charlie Chaplin's speech is so relevant today. EVERYONE needs to hear this speech now.
They are great speeches. But what makes Chaplin's greatest was that he really meant what he said.
@@fleamerica An idiot!
Stallone meant what he said to his actual son in the rocky movie

Nobody’s talking about Chaplin’s speech being only 1 straight shoot the entire 4 minutes

@@ELFanatic there was a script but it is Charlie Chaplin himself who wrote it
I spoke the great dictator at school speech competition and won the first prize. His speech is re-spoken by Jeremy Irvine which is also very touching

Change my mind the speech from rocky in “Rocky Balboa” is an amazing motivator and shows the trilogy as a whole

That independence day speech got me tearing up
Omg. Me too. I feel like a dork.
It was 'copied' from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address....
I’m glad they included the one from Few good men. Just a fantastic scene.
Al Pacino is so great, this is no acting, this is life
we think too much but feel too little . always gets my heart .
I don't know the movie, but the speech "America is not the greatest country" is my favorite. I recommend it 1000x over.
HOW ARE THERE NO REMEMBER THE TITANS CLIPS IN HERE???

Yah I would say the shaw shank speech or the brave heart speech could have been replaced with one of many in remember the titans.
Holy sheet. Charlie Chaplain absolutely DESTROYED the competition. That was such an amazing speech.

The Inches speech was epic. I watch it every day
These are great choices but two key ones are missing. Pacino's speech in Scent of a Woman and James Earl Jones' baseball speech in Field of Dreams.
