Absolutely beautiful bacon, those closeups were magnificent. What lovely happy pigs to yield such a delicacy.
Thank you dude.
Respect from Africa 🇿🇦
God love you too.
It's great to see your kid so involved in what you do I hate seeing kid's left out when they need to be learning the proper old school of living at a young age 👏👍
This video almost made me cry, because I’m sitting here, completely surrounded by no bacon.
Looks delicious. I'm salivating. We used to do at home, but not in a so profesional way.
Mercy me that just looks soooo good!😍💕💕💕
Beautiful bacon 😵💫yum😵💫I’m from Alabama USA and my father was a Perkins. Everyone always talked about the Perkins nose ( not to worry it was a good thing) which was much like your own. I only have been able to trace my Perkins genealogy to a Samuel Perkins in Virginia born in 1760. Who knows we could be distant cousins.🤭
Looks so good I am jealous. 😉
Real food! I want that for breakfast for the rest of my life!
Does it age at all in the freezer, or are the last pieces as good as the first?
Hoping to see a video of all that sausage you made up recently, including the recipes!
😋😋😋 oh, my gosh… I want that for breakfast!
Hey Richard,
Can I have a piece of cooked bacon?! I'm salivating with your preparation in curing and getting the bacon ready!
I like that you have your family involved...you're human!!

You can use Polyphenols instead of nitrates and nitrites for cold smoking.
Amazing, thanks for good info on how to make good bacon.
I would get rid of those plastic cut boards tho, an ungodly amount of micro plastics going into your food :P
very nice tutorial on the bacon making process. I am however surprised to see you cooking up the bacon. The stuff I have made has always been cold smoked, so could be interesting to try this style, Can you dry age this type of bacon?
I don't have a cold smoker, but I found that using smoked salt works well (San Francisco Salt Company). Do you see any issue with doing that, and slicing and freezing raw?
Congratulation! In Romania the bacon its a traditional food!
Boczek najlepszy.👍😊
you need to do a taste test with Ragnor 😃
Bacon! I'm so jealous....
Where do I get a piglet, again?
Did Ragnar get younger? :)
My guess is that this is an old video.
@@RedwoodRootsFarm And the barns have not been re painted and in a kitchen scene showing the view out the window I do not think the pool is in yet.
I noticed this too!
This should be illegal to show on here as it's made me super hungry. That bacon looks amazing pity we can't smell or taste it 🤔😍
Bacon!!!!
Nicely done with bacon .. More Bacon to the people :)
But i'm actually sticking my chin out and say that i would not be afraid of some smaller amount of Nitrate :)
but its not needed if you do it right :)
My wife does not like smoked bacon.(A shame I know). Can you use the bacon after the dry cure without smoking.
Is bacon really bacon if it's not smoked ? hmm i wonder :)
But to answer your question .. Yes you can
The difference is that smoked bacon you can eat it directly without cooking it, unsmoked bacon must be cooked before consumption
yes, you can. And it has a name. Pancetta. As far as I know it's basically just cured and dried pork without smoke
@@MrDregNET Thank you
@@somatder Thank you
What breed of pig was that. It was difficult to understand clearly in the video.
It's a pig I never heard of before, I would like to see it spelled out
I think he said Linderod
👏👍🍺
This is exactly how i make my bacon except I add honey to the mix. Thick cut bacon is where its at for sure.
A year. I could finish that in a week 😅
Aren't chickens also forest animals?
One day, maybe not tomorrow or next year but one day I swear I´ll impregnate some bacon as well!
Happy days
I wonder if you will ever make the connection between your egg, pork and carotenoid containing vegetables and your health issues fam. I finally did. I feel so much better removing sources of preformed vitamin a and carotenoids from my diet. You all can as well if you visit Dr Garrett Smith you tube channel, the Nutrition Detective. Eating primarily grass fed ruminates has been such a revelation for me
