My understanding is that this jacket is supposed to fit more snugly to be convenient to wear under the hardshell. If you want a helikon climashield "outerwearonly" jacket go for they level 7, I think about it and wear it as a kind of a hoody on steroids, warmer, windproof and rain-resistant.
That does make sense. I think I've started to understand more about their sizing. If it's designed to be worn under another item they're usually half a size smaller, whereas items that are designed to be over an item are generally the correct size. Is that you're impression too?

And the jacket looks a bit tight on you, but perfect as second layer and the most important thing: you have to feel good in it and I think you do!
Great review mate ! I can’t stop wearing mine ! Not sure if you read my comment on your GoRuck vid about my experience with the Velcro on the arm - I lost two patches whilst taking off a backpack as it does seem weaker than the regular type of Velcro. As I said I’ve been in a heavy downpour with this and the water just beaded and I wiped it off. The fit of the medium for me is spot on and the hood is superb and doesn’t look silly at all like on some jackets. Yours doesn’t look too tight btw. Cheers 🍻
Thanks buddy. I've had a few patches fall off but luckily whist I was at home. I do like the newer style of velcro, but it doesn't like to play cricket with some of the older patched. I always find the easiest things to test out are always the one I ten d to use more once I've finished. I have a text I like to call "yeah, but, do you miss it bruv" that I do when I have to move on to test something else. I'm more than happy to keep using this bad boy... although Mrs Moorlander had her eyes on it since day 1 😆 I hope you're well my friend and continuing your adventures in the snow

Thanks for the in-depth video. Just to clarify, and this may be a silly question, but did you get an EU size Large. Here in the US an EU Large is a US Medium and I’m hesitant to get one that is too small since it will be coming all the way across the ocean and I don’t want to have to pay return shipping and all that schinanigans.
Hi, thank you for the kind words. Yes, this is an EU large. I appreciate there's a small size step between EU and US sizes. If it helps, I made some content a few weeks back about making purchases using Amazon from the US to the UK. It may be able to save you some money as well as reduce shipping costs. It's not a loop hole or cheat, it's just a benefit of the UK not being part of Europe at the moment. I've used this way to buy from the US and saved a lot of money

Hi, sorry about the delay getting back to you. The outer shell is made my Mountain Equipment. I've had it now for about 15 years and it's amazing. However, I can't remember the name of the model. It's probably evolved into a different jacket in that time. They're an amazing company and highly recommended

Hmmmmm... that's a great question. I've had this for about 10 years now. It's Mountain Equipment. The most current on is the Triton, however I'm not 100% sure of this jacket model name. It's the best waterproof I've ever owned. After a decade it's like new - I did wash it wrong though so had to reseal the seems but that's totally my fault and not Mountain Equipment's. Great review. however I find their sizes a bit to the small side. Im normally a XL , doesn't matter what brand, but with helikon I'm XXL
I do agree with some of their items of clothing. The last majority of their gear fits perfectly for me... With a few items feel like they're the size down or somebody mixed up the size labels
Nice cut , not to slim like others, look's like the it is to narrow on the neck area when the zip is closed.
Ha ha ha... I think the tight around the neck might be my fault... A few too many pies 😂

How does the size go. Is it tight fit than usual.
Should you order your normal size or one size large. Considering there is one base layer and second layer within it.
Hi Harshad, mine feels a bit small. I usually chose large and it's on the small side. If you have an opportunity to try one on, I'd definitely recommend it

If you're wearing under another jacket I'd say get your normal size. It will be fine
Id deffo go a size up personally, i'm normally an XL and its way tight.

I'd probably go with which ever size you got for. I'm guessing you'd be a medium. If you normally choose a larger than definitely get the larger size
