The scenic view and video clips of the Golden Bridge were beautiful. However, I don't see how you can say you received poor customer service from the hotel staff when there's a language barrier. Visitors shouldn't expect locals to speak English. Also, what you may think is rude behavior, might be normal to them. It would also have been helpful to provide hotel recommendations if you're letting us know to choose our hotel wisely.

Hello everyone..this is a welfare check for our fellow expat, Taiwanda Bason.
I’m not on social media much these days but still...I haven’t heard anything, nor seen anything posted from her in two months.
I have reached out and have not heard back from in weeks.
She’s usually very responsive and very active (daily posts) on social media and she hasn’t posted anywhere since September.
People get busy...sure, but I would be remised if I didn’t send up a flare here to check on a fellow sista.
She was last known to be living in Da Nang Vietnam.

Have stayed there several times and had a wonderful dentist, excellent work and saved a lot of money compared to American price. Also you don't have to wait they get you in fast. The Good Bad and the Ugly I don't really see it that's just it cliquey phrase, seems irrelevant. You should mention when they say Beach hotel that might be a block or two or five blocks away so that's a little misleading however the hotel I stayed in was wonderful with an excellent buffet breakfast included, Mandela Beach hotel at my Key Beach. I plan to get back there and it could even be a place I would live.

Really liked your narration, the visuals and the lovely music you chose. But the Bad about Da Nang? It is not Da Nang specific. You made a bad choice and why do you expect staff of a cheaper hotel to speak English? Your advice at the end of the video is good. A lot of tourists still will go with a cheap option, will cope with a smile and adjust . ....Disclosure: have been to Da Nang, loved it (as everyone seems to ); stayed at one of the top international hotels. There are stunning places on this planet were there is only very basic accommodation and no English spoken. Yet, communication is possible; it's part of the fun.

Thanks for your understanding Long. We had a great experience at our second hotel in Da Nang, so we know it was just that one isolated hotel. Thanks so much for watching! We had lovely time in the city!

Don't take this the wrong way, but I wouldn't get room service at a hotel in Da Nang when there is so much amazing street food in the city. A lot of it for cheap too. Just saying. Nice video though. Beautiful scenery!

No problem at all. I was having stomach issues at the time and just wanted to chill in the room with some comforting chicken soup, but that didn't happened.

Is this a Grab commercial? You should really support the taxi people.
Seriously, the Bad is that you can't communicate because you don't speak Vietnamese? So it's their fault. They even came up to your room to try and communicate. Wow. Little entitled aren't we?

    • @LucasWorldTravel
      @LucasWorldTravel  4 года назад +2

I tried to use the local taxi drivers in Vietnam but they were not honest. They scam tourists. Grab is much better for a cheap and honest ride. If a hotel advertises English speaking staff, yes I expect English speaking staff. I believe that is fair.

YOU ARE RIGHT! LEARN A BIT OF THE NATIVE LANGUAGE WHEN YOU VISIT A FOREIGN COUNTRY! the service in Japan is excellent but to find a staff worker who can speak English is tough! and no one seems to complain about it! USE GOOGLE TRANSLATOR, THAT WOULD OFFSET THIS DIFFICULTY!

Not sure why you complain about that hotel that couldn't understood what you ordered? When you go another country, it's your job to try to learn their language and not the other way around. The fact the staff came to your room to try and understand your order l, well you really should say they try to accommodate y'all above and beyond rather than an attitude that they had to come up to your room to figure out what you want. Been watching many videos from different channels and this is the first attitude I heard based on experience like this! Something to think about !

Ha ha....being of Vietnamese heritage, I can tell you that how we speak sounds like an argument to Westerners.
So, don't worry about it. That's how we talk.

Hotels advertise certain languages. If they can’t deliver on them then they shouldn’t offer them.

Wow I hate it when someone in a far away country doesn't speak the exact language I speak. Very inconvenient.
What a terrible review. If you venture to a far-away piece of this beautiful globe, expect others to not cater to YOU and deal with the delays in your "room service". Glad your rooftop pool was nice, Karen.
