- Just changing a few settings on your phone can potentially protect your ear long-term.
We are just a sum of all our small habits. Making tiny changes to these habits, can make a major impact in our lives.
Ear age test: As we grow older, we lose the ability to hear upper frequencies. That is why your parents/grandparents will likely hear a different sound than you.
Note 1: The ear age game in beginning of the video is just for FUN only and is NOT a medical test. Please consult your doctor for any ear issues
Note 2: In case you got a poor score, don’t get worried. The results of the game vary based on your speaker quality, headphone quality, volume settings, Instagrams sound policy etc.
Note 3: This is episode 5 of my “Food for Thought” videos where I share non-food videos occasionally.
RUclips cut the sounds above 16khz. So don't panic if your ear can't hear a thing under 30. Nobody can hear above 16khz sounds in a youtube video

Don't worry guys your ears are fine. High frequencies are rolled off during RUclips compression and the audio you're listening to here is heavily compressed. To perform this test you need a high quality DAC, a pair of studio reference headphones with flat frequency response and a lossless audio file such as wav. You can visit an audiologist to perform this test or if you have the right gadgets you can perform it yourself.

Hey same 19 here but my ears are 31. I guess you all noticed a sharp drop after that right?, maybe this is a hardware/software limitation but I am not sure. If it were to drop slowly then I would have accepted it..

I'm an Audio Engineer and a Music Producer. In my experience, most people use cheap headphones at extremely loud volumes and this causes a lot of problems. Another interesting thing is that there is something called the loudness wars where every song is released as loud as it can be, because our ears naturally perceive loud music as better music. Funnily enough, listening at moderate volume will actually help you appreciate the finer details in the music and help elevate the experience. Thanks for doing content like this. I am 31 and my ears are 30. I think I have aged well. And as said in the video, I always use over the ear headphones and never those that go in the ears.

Ideally, your age and ear age should be the same. Sadly, your ears have been damaged due to high volumes and too much bass. You can prevent further damage to your ears by listening to music with lower volumes, using headphones instead of earphones and buying headphones that are true-sound and NOT Bass Boosted. Remember, Bass always damages your ears.

I think RUclips has a limit at 15,000 Hz because I am able to hear higher frequencies over 15k using audio softwares but this problem only appears on RUclips

If you stop hearing the sound in more age of you are , it is not your ear's fault always , maybe your phone speaker's sound is low
the frequency actually just shut off after 30, i think the audio is not great
Don't worry if you got a higher score, not everyone will get the same result because of different speaker/headphones qualities, volume and the ambience you are in. It's not a medical diagnosis. Get a medical checkup if you suspect hearing loss.
My ear's age is 29 years and my own is 25...is that good? ( I do listen to songs all day, but I mostly listen to speakers and if I have to listen to headphones- for instance when I am cycling, I always use over the ear headphones)
Most phone speakers and headphones only outputs a certain bandwidth of frequencies and the phone speakers don't produce the sub frequencies and the human perceivable very high end frequencies at all.
So to take this test literally, you need some expensive studio monitors or headphones to know your actual ear age.
But still it gives us the taste of our old age 😅
From Audiophile: To those who are worried about their ear's age either you are using cheap bluetooth earphones or even if you are using wired headphones your headphones drivers frequently response is not that loude enough
Trust me I'm an audiophile and i can hear difference between 16 and 24 bit audio normal mp3 and FLAC 44khz and 192khz sample rate

What about laptop, how to follow precaution to safe ear damage
Tip 1: Get the best sounding speakers... not the loudest! They can be expensive but if they are of good quality, you can try to enjoy and appreciate music at low volumes.
Tip 2: Never use any audio device at high volumes.
Tip 3: Never disturb others with your music. Baarat and Festival music need not be at the price of their and your ear damage. Not everyone appreciates the same kind of music.
these tips are general and nothing to do with ear age or frequency... its about how we tune our tastes. Food need not always be very spicy to be tasty.. this is also similar.

I am 42 and stopped hearing anything when it went below 55. I think he has a point, being in customer support and using headphones 8 hours a day must have done some damage to my ears. I wish I could go dumb when my wife is shouting 😂😂

To be honest i am 17 and my ears age is 11, at 26 i heared a sound like when you start your computer i dont know what it is but something like fan sound , and after that like crack sound or something .
