Misleading title as usual. The elephant didn’t attack anything. He was just puzzled by the big thing in front of him.
That was a bull in Musth (a periodic condition in bull characterized by highly aggressive behavior and accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones). He was dribbling urine, looking agitated, wrapping his trunk around his tusks - all commonly associated with Musth. They're more aggressive during this temporary state...likely to charge anything...looking for a fight

Central Texas here. The biggest wildlife we have to worry about are deer ! Quite amazing to think of elephants in the road.

Look at it from the Elephant's point of view - that is his space, his territory, his area where he roams and carries on his or her life. The cars are a damned intrusion into his own space.... no wonder he is angry... humans should get out of his way.... they were in his space.
The traffic is literally stopped in order to get out of his way. What more do you want them to do? Get out of their vehicles and bow down to the elephant? Jesus Christ, some people are impossible to please. We share a world with animals. Sometimes that means humans and animals are going to cross paths. It’s pretty much unavoidable. 🙄

And you are right antagonizing the bull with a truck and could encourage people in cars and the bull don't care about the difference. However.... The truck drivers need to learn to be patient because that's how it is there. They can do other jobs or move. It the same problem for everyone everywhere. We all are in a hurry.

1. This bull is not angry, irritated, in fear, he is just assertively playful. Look at all the behavioural indicators. Passing the time of day giving the tourist's something to write home about
2. He is like a big dog chasing a car. He only chases when the truck is passing him. He would have no idea what to do if he caught it, neither would the dog. It is just a moving object and instinctively chasing it.
