Buddhism is a humanity Peace Equality Love Respect Happyness Release suffering Non attachment Namo buddhaya..🇱🇰❤️ Its Indians proud history..they have proud very important significant amazing history than the other countries ❤️🇱🇰
Thank you so much for this information. I travelled extensively in South- and Southeast Asia. It is so beautifull to see a stupa on selected places in the landscape as they often adorn the beauty of nature reminding us of the cosmos above and the love of the builders. When I try to imagine how the sight of a stupa must have given direction and affirmation to those travellers throughout the ages when they went by foot like the Sakyamuni Buddha did himself troughout his life.
Very interesting video again; other than the things you mentioned in the video there are 6 main types of stupas according to the shape of its Garbha. - Dhanyakara(shape of a grain pile) -Ghantakara(bell shaped) -Bubbulakara(bubble shaped) _ Amalakara(Amla fruit/Indian goosberery shaped) -Ghatakara( pot shaped) Padmakara(lotus shaped) Most of the stupas you see in south east asia are of Ghantakara(bell shape) while most of the sri lankan stupas are either bubble grain pile or bell shaped;and stupas that are found in Tibet are mainly of Amalakara or ghatakara shape. while Boudhanath stupa in the nepal is of lotus shape. Love Indian buddhists from Sri Lanka. Nomo Ratanatrayaya
Thank you for this very informative video. I'm taking a pilgrimage next month to India and Nepal to visit many Buddhist temples and stupas I'm really looking forward to it! धन्यवाद

I, am from USA: In Kondapur, near Sangareddy, close to Hyderabad is a museum showcasing the articles unearthed during excavation by the Archaeological Department of Govt. Of India. A supervisor in charge stays there. Since further excavations is not undertaken due to paucity of funds the museum can be shifted to the city. I visited it 35 years back. The Buddhists organization should take the initiative. At another place there is cave paintings several thousands years old. It is evident that people were Buddhists once. A vessel with several cracks patched with bronze. I am sure nowhere else such a thing found. The purpose of breaking and connecting is a mystery. The state Govt. may be approached to do further excavations. The Buddhists organization in Hyderabad is requested to initiate action.
As much as I saw your videos the more I'm into our glorious ancient past full of diversities in philosophy, attire, architecture and so on. Great work man. Suggestion: kindly make a video on sects of Buddhism and how they are originated. Also on different Buddhas like Siddharth, Amitabh, Maitraiyee and so on. Also on different gods and goddesses Iike tara Devi and many in Buddhism.
There is one problem though. The title! More specifically the conjunction of two syntactically different sentences. In my view, it should be: Everything you need to know about stupas. That’s enough!!!
Thanks . That's in the agenda, which will talk about the history of Stupa over 2500 years and its eventual decline in India . Any suggested topics for the next part? Namo Buddhay .
I wish the speaker had discussed the symbolism of different parts of the stupa according to different scholars, such as Irwin's identification of the important wooden pole in their centre as an axis mundi, joining earth with the heavens, and the Sri Lankan account of King Duttagamini's great stupa. Also, Licchavi and other tribes also placed their king's relics in them. Most stupas have been rifled and levelled for their bricks and stones. Thanks to Alexander Cunningham's efforts and insights, a few significant ones remain.
You should also make a documentary on Bhuddhist literature of Pali and Sanskrit texts and their writings style. I heard, Bhuddhist literature is very very vast and rich. Really informative lecture. I am impressed expecting more videos on worldwide Buddhist culture in future.
Interesting, I thought that Stupa originated with Buddhism.
I did not know that the tradition predated it.

Can stupa be considered as temple also?
Thank you for your lovely effort.
However, I feel it’s important to clear that stupa is a place of veneration and to find inspiration to lead a good meaningful life in service of all. In Dhamma we don’t worship Buddhas or bodhisattavas. We pay our homage to the great guide or master.
