Do Carrie I like to say thank you for bringing us up-to-date models I do believe this is the way of the future I do believe it I'm sure it's going to need more tweaking because being in a wheelchair handicap I'm finding a lot of these houses don't seem to want to cater to people with disabilities but if they can be custom made for people in a wheelchair that is a very thumbs up concept now also I saw something that actually terrified me I watched how the storm literally took out a wood stick home like it was nothing but matches and I guess this might have been E2 or even a e3 maybe impossible E4 and just seeing how that home everything went home it was just the stick figure it was just blown away like a stick matches something like this I believe with a little bit more tweaking and dealing with the hurricane situation I mean I think they should try and build things oh to withstanding hurricane nine if there is a nine schedule the fact that matter is the wood that are being supplied it's I don't think it's any good I think about the trees I like the pine trees and what are the trees that was even here in our backyard who with the so many tornadoes I love this tree because it always showed a glimmer of hope it seemed to bow down and praise up to heaven if you could imagine a tree saying thank you Lord for one more year but this year the storm took it out and it didn't lose my faith in humanity but it just made me realize that wood itself may or may not no longer be able to support the houses would have obviously have gotten weaker and I'm seeing it everywhere even in the doors that was installed it literally is crumbling apart I don't even know if the woods are even using is a wood that should even be used for building so Carrie if you get this message and you read it yes I am a little long with it I think that these types of new prefab homes that they they need to really stop acting like these homes that are made of wood or the best quality when the wood itself I believe is weakened May the roots you know everything the wood is no longer sustainable to build houses with and with the up and coming weathers that we've been having definitely need more Council they need to stop it wood stick homes are no longer sustainable and I wouldn't go as far as dangerous you can't keep rebuilding and using the manufacturer's wood and lumber I mean I think wood was good for his furniture but obviously today's wood is just no longer sustainable
The first SEED Home was actually designed and built with accessibility in mind. Our son and his partner both have mobility changes. My wife designed the layout so that it was wheelchair friendly.
Can you place it on a cement slab? I live in the south of the US. Are they sealed good? I’m concerned about bugs getting through the seams. I like the steel frame. Can it withstand a tornado? Does it come with air and heat?
We are watching you on two devices right. Lol I had to share this with my hubby. Might be a good fit for a guest house while we build the main home. So glad you posted this
Beautiful home and if it is 40% less than most houses they're really on to something. Smart to be able to ship it in a smaller footprint like they have. Hopefully they'll be able to keep up with demand as I'm sure a lot of people won't want to wait until 2030. Nice to see such innovation from a Canadian company!
We definitely need these in the US. Did they give you a price for this model? That kitchen was amazing and it really did seem like there was so much more room in that house. I love how they used steel too and will be using carbon neutral (or was it carbon negative?) flooring. Really great build.
I was actually shocked how much I liked this one. It’s not as trendy a look as some of the others that have been featured but all in all this is my favorite
This is definitely one of the more intriguing options besides Boxabl that I've seen. One thing I would love to hear in your videos is the actual R-value. Everyone claims they're energy efficient. I like to know the numbers. My ears perked up when he said R-value but didn't give an actual figure. What I also like about this one is the inherent durabiilty of the building materials. I'm like you, Kerry. I'm not it DIY kind of person. I want low maintenance. Thanks for this video. I hope to learn more about this one in the future. Can you tell us how many bedrooms and bathrooms in the standard 27' x 40' model? Thanks Kerry!
We are the owners of the home. Our understanding is that the exterior walls have an R value of over 30...same for the roof. In the standard 27 x 44 model you easily have room for three bedrooms and two full baths.
Hi from SEED, the standard walls are R28 and the vaulted roof is R35. For northern projects have higher R values dependent on requirements and we can also design to hurricane winds of 185 mph or more
Watch for Kerry's next video when he talks to my wife and I. Seeing it is one thing. Living in it is something completely different. The "feel" of this home is everything we dreamed it would be.
This is truly closer to an affordable home compared to many of your previous videos. If they can find a way to significantly speed up their production schedule, that would be fantastic, I hope their introduction into the USA will also be speedy. Please keep us posted on their progress. Thanks
@@wilty5 hello from SEED, yes, we can ship to the USA. Cost would be dependent on location but with our folding system, no oversize loads or restrictions. We do a lot of work in PA/WV etc as well as Colorado with our other divisions. A regular load to PA is about $6-7K. Cheers, Steve
This design and build concept is mind blowing and the actual space in home is beautiful. What’s not to Like ? (well 2030 timeline). I have to say, please keep up with your curiosity and wonderful sense of humor. VERY grateful for your enthusiasm and commitment!
Such a great point. Weather is becoming more dramatic. As the owners of this home, we were able to meet with the engineer who assured us of its durability and strength.
I was actually shocked how much I liked this one. It’s not as trendy a look as some of the others that have been featured but all in all this is my favorite.
Hi from SEED, yes we have contracts to 2030 but we are by no means sold out. An order today could be filled this fall. We have just opened a second manufacturing shop here in Calgary, we have additional plans for 9-12 months for another Canadian plant and then turn focus to USA as well.
Quick question. Looking to provide inexpensive housing in Los Angeles. What's the permitting process? Can I buy a hundred of them for a discount? What's the timeline on that?
I’m happy to see that the foldout prefab home isn’t just limited to Boxabl. I’m also happy to hear that eventually it will be available in the USA. 🇺🇸 This prefab home is big. I would change one of the living rooms and the art room and have two more bedrooms. The office would be my home recording studio. I would keep the living room with the bookshelf and the master bedroom. I would flip the kitchen to be open to the opposite side facing the living room with the bookshelf. This home could easily be a three bedroom home. And the price in USD was surprisingly low. Nicely done! 👏 Great walkthrough Kerry. This is a company I’m going to keep my eye on. 😎
With the steel frame welded to the ground pillars I think this would do better in a tornado than some of the stick houses we've seen, no? (With the inner "utility cage" providing a safe place to hide.) I hope these catch on in the U.S. Would love to retire in some nice rural area in Ohio or Michigan, but existing housing stock either needs so much work or is so expensive.
Hello from SEED, you are absolutely right and we have designed to 185 mph winds to date, heavy snow loads and seismic conditions. Many of our buildings are in the North East USA. We are taking orders for fall deliveries in the USA now and our plans include manufacturing plants in key markets like US North East. Cheers, Steve
#Kerry I'm so confused are all the layouts exactly the same except for the studio? Also any idea how much the Nook costs there are no prices on their website and it doesn't show a refrigerator in the kitchen on the fisheye View and NO oven to cook either! Do you know about that by chance? I wonder if you would hear every rain drop if the roof is metal? Do you know if there is built in storage and sliding glass doors as "standard"? Unfortunately their website isn't very informative but I'm very interested if you have any other information thanks so much for showing us this I try to catch all ur vids :)
I will have to leave the questions around layouts and what comes standard to the SEED Homes team, but I can speak to the sound of the rain. We are the owners of the home shown on the video. You hear the rain more than in a traditional "stick built" home, but find it quite relaxing. It has a meditative effect. The house is generally quieter than a regular home, less floor squeeks and HVAC noise.
Hello from SEED, we are taking orders for the US market now, would be a fall delivery at the earliest. Our future plans include building manufacturing plants in the next 24 months there as well. Cheers, Steve
Can bees homes be shipped internationally?? Like the Europe?? Also can you have a bigger pitch on the roof line 🤔🤔💯 make it much taller nearby allowed to put ceiling fans fans in. Thanks 👍 gorgeous video also looks cool 😎😍
I wonder if mobile home parks in the USA would allow these, they don’t have wheels or axles and they also could be set up obviously as permanent spaces. But, they are still removable in a 10 foot wide section. So much like a storage building that can be dropped shipped, these can be dropped shipped tonight mobile home lot and removed just as easily. I don’t see what they would have a problem with it. I’m just curious. I like the fact that they could be very competitive with actual mobile homes and yet more sturdy and better built than a mobile home.
This is great! I'm excited to see them come to the US!

From SEED, thank you
Glad you like it
Industry as a whole, very impressive engineering and design. Been wild to see how all of this has been developing.
Yeah lots going on 🙌🏼
It was so interesting as the home owners to watch the process from start to finish. We have a full understanding of the bones of this house.
So glad you posted this
Thank you! appreciate that
Very high bang for the buck. Thanks for video and review Kerry!
You bet, thanks for watching
Appreciate the walkthrough of a house that is already occupied. The outside gives no clue to just how lovely and spacious is the inside.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello from SEED, yes, we have contracts that go to 2030 but we are not sold out. An order today would arrive this fall. Cheers, Steve
Amazing that you do this as a one-man operation. Love the channel and thanks for the awesome content!
Thank you 🙌🏼. Glad you’re enjoying the videos
Kerry, I was lucky to stumble upon your channel a year ago. Really appreciate your work, and your sense of humor. Keep it coming. Thank you.
Thanks Pepper, appreciate you tuning in
Great Kerry ! Keep the Good vids going ! Everything from affordable to high price , reveal for your audiences!
That's the plan! Thanks for watching Craig
This is so smartly designed and I really love all the windows/glass doors for ample sunlight. The finishes are tasteful. Thanks for sharing this!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching
Perfect! now get production going in the US and I'm there
Yeah!
Hello from SEED, that is our plan. We are taking orders for fall 2024 deliveries for the USA now. Cheers, Steve
We definitely need these in the US. Did they give you a price for this model? That kitchen was amazing and it really did seem like there was so much more room in that house. I love how they used steel too and will be using carbon neutral (or was it carbon negative?) flooring. Really great build.
Glad you like it! They said they will deliver to the US
I LOVE the 1150 square foot home ! Seed Homes is going places.
glad you like it!
I was actually shocked how much I liked this one. It’s not as trendy a look as some of the others that have been featured but all in all this is my favorite
Glad to hear 🙌🏼
🍀👍🍀nice but what seems to be missing with these affordable homes is there inability to deliver them to customers ???
I can’t wait for this to come to the states! It’s exactly what I am looking for!! Ty 🥰
Wind really blows! Lol seriously though, wowza I'm impressed!
Haha it was absolutely howlin
This is exactly what my husband and i are looking for. Can i ask what the strength would be against high winds?
For northern projects have higher R values dependent on requirements and we can also design to hurricane winds of 185 mph or more
@@cegengreenenergysystems8780Thank you for the info. The higher R values are as important in our southwest desert with extreme heat in the summer.
This is incredible - just heard about SEED today from a friend. 🎉
Cool!
This is Awesome! How can we get involved to help get these sold to clients in the US, North Carolina and Georgia.
Their website claims they have a 672sqft option for $54,788USD, but I don’t see it listed.
The home we see in this video costs 138,000USD.
Out of all the ones I've seen you do, I think this might be my favorite ! 👍
We think so 😂
Watch for Kerry's next video when he talks to my wife and I.
Thanks
Hi from SEED, though we are looking out to 2030, an order today could be delivered this fall.
Cheers, Steve
Hi from SEED, yes, we have some contracts to 2030 but we are not sold out. An order today would be delivered this fall. Cheers, Steve
@@cegengreenenergysystems8780 delivered to the USA? If so, at what cost?
@@wilty5 hello from SEED, yes, we can ship to the USA. Cost would be dependent on location but with our folding system, no oversize loads or restrictions. We do a lot of work in PA/WV etc as well as Colorado with our other divisions. A regular load to PA is about $6-7K. Cheers, Steve
Thanks, I’m in Kentucky, I will definitely be looking into it, thanks
Do they have the studio one done that you could walk through? I don’t need over 1,000 square feet.
They haven't built a studio yet. I will try to see one when they do
Wow, something affordable with a nice floor plan!
Thanks for watching Gail
The corridor concept is good really good 😊 now I got to ship to the Palm Springs area
Love it from Ontario. Now where do I put it. Need a community of these🇨🇦 from Ottawa
they're building at least one for Ontario now!
i wonder if you can get it in Black exterior
Love it
This design and build concept is mind blowing and the actual space in home is beautiful. What’s not to
Like ? (well 2030 timeline). I have to say, please keep up with your curiosity and wonderful sense of humor. VERY grateful for your enthusiasm and commitment!
Hello from SEED, yes, we have contracts to 2030 but we are by no means sold out. An order today would arrive this fall. Cheers, Steve
This is the best so far!!! Awesome.
glad you like it Holly!
Wow. This is amazing after sustaining major hail damage last year, this option is compelling.
Such a great point. Weather is becoming more dramatic. As the owners of this home, we were able to meet with the engineer who assured us of its durability and strength.
We have designed and built for hurricane winds, extreme snow loads and seismic conditions
Cheers, Steve
Great video.beautiful art work.
Ty.
Thank you so much. My wife Heather does incredible abstract work! That big piece in the dining room is stunning.
Hello from SEED, most of us here at SEED have either Russell's or Heather's are on our walls. There are two in our lobby as well! Cheers, Steve
This is EXCITING!!!! 2030 isn't so exciting.... I live in New England, US and would jump on this immediately!!!
thanks! Yeah I wasn't expecting that timeline but maybe they can ramp things up sooner.
This prefab home is big. 👏
Great walkthrough Kerry. This is a company I’m going to keep my eye on. 😎
Thats the beauty of it too, you can make those kinds of changes. Thanks for tuning in Billy 👊🏻
With the steel frame welded to the ground pillars I think this would do better in a tornado than some of the stick houses we've seen, no? (With the inner "utility cage" providing a safe place to hide.)
I hope these catch on in the U.S.
Kerry, we love you buddy!!!
Thanks for your information! Very helpful
@@RussellThomasArt OMG I WOULD HATE HEARING THE RAIN YIKES THX
I love it keep up the good work!!
Thanks 😃
Did you get the prices on the larger models?
They’re all on the website
This was an awesome video. I love the house, the layout, everything. However, I would prefer more bedrooms and an extra bathroom.
I am not sure if the video captured it, but the home does have two full bathrooms.
And we have a model that can have 3 bedrooms or a two story with another half bath and a garage
I wonder when this will available in the United States.
Hello from SEED, we are taking orders for the US market now, would be a fall delivery at the earliest. Our future plans include building manufacturing plants in the next 24 months there as well. Cheers, Steve
We are taking orders now for the USA and investigating manufacturing there too
Can bees homes be shipped internationally?? Like the Europe?? Also can you have a bigger pitch on the roof line 🤔🤔💯 make it much taller nearby allowed to put ceiling fans fans in. Thanks 👍 gorgeous video also looks cool 😎😍
Not sure if they’ll ship to Europe, maybe eventually
This is nice ❤ I might have to move to Alberta ❤
Thanks for watching
I wonder if mobile home parks in the USA would allow these, they don’t have wheels or axles and they also could be set up obviously as permanent spaces. But, they are still removable in a 10 foot wide section. So much like a storage building that can be dropped shipped, these can be dropped shipped tonight mobile home lot and removed just as easily. I don’t see what they would have a problem with it. I’m just curious. I like the fact that they could be very competitive with actual mobile homes and yet more sturdy and better built than a mobile home.
Nice to see more canadian companies getting involved. Send about 5000 of those straight to the Rock!
More Canadian companies coming. I'm over in NB right now
Cant wait for these to start popping up in Ontario!
yeah!
