Can we all just take a second to appreciate how hard Yvan works every single day it seems to push out content as well as teach and run DIY Detail as a business. We are very lucky as detailers to have someone like him in the space that has done, and continues to do so much for the community. Cheers to you Yvan (and Nick)!

I was about to buy a salt remover but now I have reconsidered and will try it this way. Washed my Tundra this am with rinseless wash. Used my IK Foam Sprayer filled with H2O, All Clean, and a splash of Incredible Suds to get the road grime off. Cleaned the tires, rims, and all along the sides and tailgate. I don't have a power washer, so I used a garden hose to rinse. Applied a coat of Ceramic Gloss just before the rains hit here in CA a couple of weeks ago. Truck looks great!

Great video promoting the power of the rinseless wash. When a car is that bad, doesn't the water get very dirty, thus your using dirty water on the last panels of the wash. Thus, drying off dirty water. For dirty cars, I usually use a second bucket of rinseless to rinse out my sponge, then go dunk sponge back into original bucket. More work, yes. Am I over thinking this?

$300-400 dollar keg, plus whatever the attachments go for i.e. hose, trigger and etc, then throw in the Ryobi with batteries and a charger, gotta be pushing $600, 2 keg applications, rinse, rinseless wash etc etc, take it to a car wash, get that crap off asap, worry about a detail in the spring. Nice that he hit the drivers inside door jamb, yet didn't do the hatch or the passenger door jamb ? I'm not knocking him, I do use the rinseless wash on my vehicles but only light dirt/dust/pollen. The whole foam cannon with a compressor, quick disconnects, wands, tips, et al kinda cool to do, but in all reality it's just as much perhaps less work to drag out the hose and buckets...always interesting videos....thx

@beijingbiden5931 Most definitely, but with the EZClean, you have a shower setting, a 15° tip and a turbo Nozzle along with 0.8 gpm, so you can use it to rinse off the wheels after cleaning them as well. It's totally not a necessity, but I've really enjoyed it for rinseless

  • @coreyh4947
    @coreyh4947 8 месяцев назад +1

If I may make a suggestion for efficiency. Skip the detail keg. Fill the bucket with rinseless and pretreat with the Ryobi sprayer. The solution plus the pressure will push the heavy stuff down and start the cleaning process. The rinseless will not mess up the Ryobi as it's designed to be chemical resistant. I use a Worx Hydroshot 750psi model in the same way for my winter wash. I usually do this on the 25 degree nozzle setting. I usually go through 3 of the 5 gallons during this process on my VW Alltrack. I then go into my wash process using 6 double flip rinseless towels. Using a separate towel for each panel keeps me from having to go back to the bucket to clean the media and also keeps the water in the bucket clean. Also from my testing a grit guard leaves about a gallon of water that can't be used in the bucket once again decreasing the efficiency. This works for me and keeps the tools to a minimum and I can wash quickly as here in the Midwest winter wash means it's just above freezing and windy. I can fit everything I need in one 5 gallon bucket.

Yvan in the interest of efficiency, why not use rinseless solution in battery powered pressure washer to avoid the second re-application of rinseless from the keg. I have been doing this for 5 years using a Worx hydroshot (another battery powered pressure washer) in order to avoid further dilution of rinse water laying on panels with application of rinseless solution from sponge. Note my current rinseless passing through pressure washer is pure polymer based with no bad effects on the battery pressure washer. Would the surfactants in DIY rinseless potentially cause issues with the pressure washer pump? The other advantage is no need to worry about water spots with rinseless solution being used for rinse step (just polymer spots which are easily removed in final rinseless wash) in case your water source is hard (high mineral content).

So I've decided to go "all in" on rinsless and acquired a keg from Scott. I did a salty car yesterday (although not as bad as this) and went around the car once with the keg to mist on the rinseless and let it start to do it's job. Then I went around again and set the nozzle for a bit more pressure and essentially used it as a substitute for a pressure washer and sprayed top to bottom trying to push down the gunk off the paint. Used about 1.5-2 gallons total through the keg. I did not rinse before the contact wash. Was that foolish? It seems with the keg you can spray a lot off the car before the contact wash and perhaps avoid rinsing in cases where a rinse might otherwise be best.

I would ever recommend using a rinse less especially seeing that salt film that was clearly visible on the car.My friends dad a 35 year detailer wanted to see what all the hype surrounding rinse less was about, and to cut a long story short on a freshly corrected car he used a rinseless on the bonnet(hood) with light salt on the car and then afterwards put it under lights and it did scratch the paint I saw it first hand also, and this is from a guy that knows how to clean vehicles for a living

Great video! That Ryobi, I could pee harder. It's like the pressure I get from my well water. That's why I go to self-serve car washes. What was the temperature? Im now 72 and STILL was my car by hand, even in the winter! My car is red also, & really enjoyed your filthy car video. Its what cars look like in MY rust belt. Again, thank u. What if you had added rinse less wash to the bucket before using the handheld power washer? Also, I don't have a keg to pre-soak the car, but I DO have a battery powered power washer similar to the one in the video, couldn't I use that to apply the pre-soak?

Hi Yvan, when doing a similare method, if the car is particularly dirty in some cases is it ever worth to pre spray/foam some APC on lower panels to break down the soil/grit before flushing with a rinseless keg? Or is it not worth the extra APC/product?

Yvan, what are your thoughts about simply piping in the rinseless solution through the ryobi as a replacement for the keg? I ask because I have a Ryobi but no keg and am wondering if I can use the Ryobi for all of my rinseless applications.
Would the rinseless ruin the Ryobi?

I find this works perfectly in the UK on my personal car. Only issue I've faced recently is a little streaking on glass, any advise? I use the rag company gauntlet towel and wonder if over saturated or if using too little or too much product (Tho I do try to keep to 4ml per litre)!
Also when do you find not rinsing suitable, if I cleaned car every week with little dirt do I need to pre-spray and rinse? / I tried other day (2 days after cleaning car) not rinsing and it did work well! (But I was worried about scratches, the time saving was huge!)

Does it matter how many gallons of water w/ rinseless I have in my bucket when washing my car? I use only 3 gallons for my hatchback and that includes dunking my IK sprayer for the pre-rinse (maybe another dunking if I need to rinse more before contact). In my head it's because the dirt will just fall under the gritguard anyway.

Do you ever use degreaser for tar, asphalt etc or does claying take that away?
Always been doing my decon washes before polishing with tar remover, alkaline, iron remover, then schampo, clay and polish. Wondering if I can skip all the chemicals and just wash and clay with iron remover and then be ready for polish, saying time, product and energy?

Leave the tar removal ( DIY Detail Tree Sap Remover) until the end. The wash will remove a good portion of it, and so does DIY Detail Iron Remover . Only if needed after .
