Perhaps Graham Nash's best song and a lot more meaningful to me at age 62 than at 30 when it was first recorded.

I agree. this was on the radio when I was 8...im 48 now...I loved the sound of it as a child. .I know have 5 of my own children and I now love the lyrics which I didn't notice or understand as an 8 year old...im about as hardened a guy as they come....it is almost impossible for me to listen to this song and not hold back tears.
This song is a classic and one I will never forget.

This song reminds us that we shouldn't waste our time especially considering the average person waits about an hour in line everyday which totals to about 2-3 years in their lifetime.

Still my favorite CSN song, with exquisite harmonies , even though David wasn't on the studio recording. When it first came out I had to ask who was singing , and was a little surprised it was them. Still get the same chills when I hear it, although haven't heard it in many years. Sad that this kind of beautiful music and talent is in the past, as so many are saying.

The best song of that era. I've heard that song 100's--1000's maybe--of times,and it never ceases to send chills. It's that drop-in-harmony about 16 measures before the end that gets me every time. Was that Nash?

Graham Nash wrote this song as a "musical apology" to his band mates David Crosby and Stephen Stills, after a period of not talking to each other. It hit #9 on the Billboard charts in 1982, so I think this song worked.
