    I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.,,

    I concur re: reasons 3 and 4. My fiancé and I spent a week in KL this April (loved it!), and there is no shortage of really good food, and yes, the waistline grew! To add insult to injury, the good people a Grab Food Delivery make it all too easy to indulge if its too hot or raining cats & dogs outside to go get a bite. For travel, coming from California, the most direct flight is SFO to Singapore which is 16 hours 35 minutes (non stop flight), then another 1 hour flight to KL. Throw in even a modest layover at Changi International and you literally need a whole day to get there or go home. In the end, it is worth it and we hope to come back next year. Lovely place and lovely people :-)

    Cashless transactions have nothing to do with the Chinese influence. Malaysia is one of the leading pioneers in Biometrics and RFID systems long before the Chinese in China were allowed to have bank accounts. But the e-transaction business were first popularized by the toll payment systems of Malaysian highways such as SmartTag, TnGo, RFID etc before it spread to other businesses

    • @mysticdreamworks
      @mysticdreamworks 2 месяца назад

      @@VirtousStoic no. it doesnt meant we were extravagant spending or lack of control. Technically, if we do cook at home by ourselves, you can save very very very much money. in example, for a single person, buying half kg or 2 complete chicken thigh its only about RM 7 - 8. Cut it to 4 portion, it may last about 2 day of meal with rice. A dosen 12's egg grade a or b, about rm11, may last over 5-6 day . with only less than RM30 for 5, 6 days cost depend on your tummy.. somehow due to busy working and outing, we just eat whenever wherever were free end up use double or triple the cost even quadraple. cooking actually can save alot of money, but really time consuming, thats why some thrownaway does happen several time.

    • @VirtousStoic
      @VirtousStoic 2 месяца назад

      @mysticdreamworks you are very polite and kind may God bless malaysia. One thing to note is. For example 2kg of organic boneless skinless chicken breasts here costs roughly 160 malay MYR. And for me that last 1 week. But for normal people they probably eat 1kg of chicken breast's a week.
      For a foreigner eating out daily compared to back home is cheap.
      Btw I recommend you buy an instant pot it's so amazing for cooking fast and easy. This is the world's best and fastest pressure cooker for a good price.
      Or a crock pot. This is a slow cooker
      I cook rice in an instapot in 20 min. Chicken breast in stew or curry etc in 30 min. And it comes out so tender and soft. And I put it in the fridge and everyday take some chicken and sauce and it's still juicy because the sauce prevents the meat from drying.
      But yes this is boring. But that's why i eat out on weekends for fun
      But when one day I live in malaysia inshallah I will just eat out daily or hire a chef to cook for us on the weekend meals.for the week then leave it in the fridge then heat up. Or cook for 2 days only idk

    Unless you are walking around the city or the countryside on foot from 10am to 3 pm shooting a video for YT, the 36° C and humidity are tolerable because in the homes you are either under fans or with ac. Step into the car for office, schools etc , you are in ac again. Offices/ indoor workplaces have ac and fans. Drive back home in ac again. Taxis , buses and trains have ac. Going out usually will be in late afternoon or evening when it is cooler -but then malls , shops and restaurants have fans and ac. I think that is how the general population cope except for some😂
