    BEST F-CKING BAND EVER! EVER!!!

Great reaction! Duane Allman (left channel) and Dickey Betts (right channel) are the guitarists. More listening will differentiate their styles. Gregg Allman is the organ player and vocalist. Jaimoe and Butch Trucks are the drummers. Berry Oakley is the bassist.
You'll find that Duane usually drives the song with his guitar while Dickey rides it.

Also, you're the first person I've seen react to this and notice the "Joy to the World" musical quotation.

What!! Joy to the World is classic lol. But it was a cool riff to close the song out on. I liked that a lot

as a lifelong Allmans fan, I shamefully admit that I've never really listened to this song much over the years, maybe a handful of times. Shame on me!! Def going into my ABB rotation. Great reaction!! RIP Skydog

There will never be a band that played as tight as the Allman Brothers. They had changes in players over the years, but the band was still so tight The Fillmore East album is the best live one ever. I can listen to them forever. I miss the Allman Brothers. I wish that I had seen the original band and seen them more. Great music.

It's no mistake thinking "saxophone". Tom Doucette on the 'Mississippi Saxophone'. 😉

I saw them when I was a seasoned concert rat in 1969, 14 years old in Sarasota.
I was on summer vacation with Granny who was from Longboat Key. Came on in thinking this was just something to do for the night. They opened with "don't want you no more". I went off!
It just kept getting better and better and better. I was blown away.

When Duane takes it all alone : that is as Deep South as music gets. What a performance ! And then Dickie weighs in with the boys on percussion. Soul stirring stuff.

One of my favorite songs off the Fillmore East album but be quite honest the whole album is excellent. You made a good point about the crowd which is actually the 8th member of the band on this album. Thom doucette being the 7th.

I was lucky... had just got out of jail in Clesrwster Fl. Went down to Big Pier 60
There was a band set up on the roof. It wss the Brothers. Saw them again that night in Tampa
Damn twice in one day. They had the jams going for hours.

Welcome to the world I have lived in for almost 50 years. Any time I have a long drive I put in a Allman Brothers CD. You Don’t Love Me is high on my go to list of songs. Glad you found them. Listen to Whipping Post and Mountain Jam.

The world just ain’t the same without The Allman Brothers Band! I encourage you to follow the personnel changes through the years, but for my money, the only lineup close to the original is the final lineup with Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks on guitars and Oteil Burbridge on bass, with Marc Quionnes joining the two drummers on percussion. That lineup stayed together from about 99 until the end in 2014. Straight fire!! Luckily there is a lot of great live performances on You Tube and one fine studio album entitled “Hittin’ The Note”. Try “Desdemona” “Rockin’ Horse” “Old Before My Time” “Instrumental Illness” etc. You’ll be ahead of the other “Reactor Pack” because they ain’t even heard of that later stuff!

Gov't Mule the band was a side project for The Allmam Brothers Band.
Warren Haynes lead vocals, and lead guitar.
Favorite songs: Slackjaw Jesebel, and John the Revelator featuring the Dirty Dozen Brass band.
    "Derek Trucks Band"
Nefew of Butch Trucks has alot of fantastic music as well.
Plus he became a member of The Allman Brothers Band in 1999

This tune has so many parts and evokes multiple emotions. Imho Betts play is off the charts on this one. Of course Duane kicks ass. I love this song. Marvin, your take is spot on with the crowd inreaction. Well done

Duane Allman referred to this song as a "shuffle".
It fits. It shuffles along, pulling you in.

Willie Cobb, a harmonica player wrote this song. A lot of people have done this one. Junior Wells was known for this song, but the ABB version is absolutely the best. I'm sure there are a lot of #1 ABB fans out there and I am one of them. I listen to them everyday. First saw them in 1970 and have been a fan since then. The greatest band ever.

I believe that the encore that night was 1:30 minutes long. First was You Don’t Love Me into Whipping Post and finally Mountain Jam. Awesome shows those two nights.

One of my favorite Duane solos is in this Fillmore You Dont Love Me - his last solo ending the song - where he throws in the Joy to the World riff - - just brings me to tears.

Saw the Allman Brothers live at Piedmont Park, Fox Theater, Atlanta Pop Festival in 1970. I was 14 and my Brother took me. Later I met members of his road crew. Life was more simple, fun, music was astounding in the late 60's and 70's. Atlanta was a hot spot fir awesome concerts, great music, live concerts and awesome Southern Blues and Rock

RIP Gregg and Duane. They led the best blue eyed soul band ever--and led the way for others. All our southern musicians are the best, no matter the color of their eyes--or their skin.

Absolutely, Donna! I first saw them when I was 14, '72..The first concert after Duane was killed..Berry was still with us..It's crazy, 'cause the concert doesn't show up anywhere. It was the Hofstra FieldHouse, (Gymnasium) April 9, 1972..I was 14, and when the clock struck twelve I turned 15, and they were still jamming..I believe you won't find it anywhere because they were gearing up to their full blown Eat A Peach tour, to promote the album, so it was not officially part of the tour. I think it was a trial run to test the waters to see if they could go on without Duane..They blew the roof off the place, pouring every bit of emotion into that performance..They all put in the work, that night, especially Dickie!..It was phenomenal, and I was an instant lifelong fan.
