- Hello! Some decals don't always come off easily so here are some tips and tricks to help. I actually found that a product called rapid tac adhesive remover works MUCH better at removing the adhesive and doesnt require all of the scrubbing and mixing of chemicals. Read the instructions carefully with this product.

I enjoyed watching and learning. I watch the comments to see your feedback and I appreciate you even creating sir. I have a 2013 Camaro that had red racing stripes that are now sun tanned into a pastel red and chipped liked crazy. I believe I may have to just pay someone for this. I will keep my options open until then. Thank you for remaining professional when people try and tell you how to handle your business it takes a grown man to share when hes learning.
I decided to skip the heat gun step and let the FL sun do that for me
I’d definitely say it’s worth trying. At least you know it’s not going to burn your paint off like a heat gun easily could.
@@Packer1290 I'll one up you, I'm gonna let the AZ sun heat mine up lol
Sick video! camera work was👌🏾🔥
Thanks brotha
I used a product called pure citrus. It’s a air freshener I got at Walmart for three dollars.
Once you get the vinyl off this product works good for removing the adhesive. Let it sit and then scrape with a Bondo spreader.
Good to know! Its also really good for when you go 💩🚽 😅
Just use alcohol
@@JohnDoe-nz6bk,
Don’t work. It dries too fast.
I ended up using one of those eraser wheels and a drill. Came off pretty easily after I let the car sit in the sun. It just takes time.
What about all the lines under it I’m having a hard time removing them well
@@KrossLong-jo1dg
You'll probably need to sand and buff. And still, probably won't move all of it.
Fantastic video!
Thank you!!
Thanks man helped alot
No problem!! Im glad i could help 😎
Great video!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I have the same exact car but the orange 860 edition, I'm deciding on whether or not to do the same thing
If you do end up going for it, let me know if you have any questions and I’d be happy to help 😎
Great info
Thanks for watching! 🙂
Can u steam the sticker off or just the residue
This is hilarious. I came looking on how to remove my old stripes of my SE 860. What to my surprise, its my exact car..🤣🤣🤣🤣 They 5 years old now and Im in the process of replacing them..
Good luck with everything! Let me know if i can help with anything
Just removed the stripes off my white car and a yellow tint was left from the glue. What do you suggest for removing the yellow?
Hello Tarah, in this situation id say to start with a good clay bar, buff, and wax. Sometimes after sitting for a couple of days the yellow will fade away as well! Let me know if this helps!
Do u have to polish the car after?
I would definitely recommend it
gunna do this on my 07 shelby gt.. any recommendations?
Id definitely buy extra material if it is your first time wrapping a car. It is likely that a mistake will be made. It takes year of practice to get wrapping down to look like paint

gotcha
good thing i just wanna remove the stripes and leave it for awhile.
no garage so waiting a lil bit on nicer weather.
comes off in lil pieces or full thing?
It came off in pieces unfortunately
I had trouble understanding what you said the product was in the small yellow or orange bottle you used with the alcohol... can you provide a link? Thanks! Nice video!

What i found that works even better is called rapid tac adhesive remover. Pay close attention to the instructions though, it is very potent and will get the adhesive off without any extensive scrubbing
TheOutlawJoseyWales i will be updating the description with a link shortly
Who removes factory stripes? Any Auto Paint and Body Shop?
Anybody can do it with a little bit of elbow grease 😎
Give me a call or text at 9518708596 if you have any questions
What about the sun ?
detail solution and a claybar
mine flaked but very hard to peel what should i do
Im sorry to hear that! That means the vinyl is very dried up. My next step would be to try to remove the vinyl with a steamer. If that does not work then you may need to use an eraser wheel to remove the vinyl and paint thinner to remove the leftover hardened glue. When it comes to paint thinner, it is very important not to rub too hard in the same spot for too long or you may cause permanent paint damage. There is always the option of using a chemical that is not as strong and spending extra time with scrubbing
@@ReimaginedWraps yeah i had the vinyl for 3 yrs only i dont think its that long to flake. is acetone safe enough to use aswell?my finger and nail are hurting now since its the only thing that peels of the vinyl. even the credit card or laminated paper dont help either. ima try the steamer😆
If the car wasn’t washed regularly or sat in the sun for extended periods of time, it will dry out the vinyl faster. Depending on the brand of vinyl that was installed it will also make a difference in how long it lasts.
The steamer is my go to in situations like that.
Im not sure about using acetone, you never know when it comes to harsh chemicals. I use the paint thinner all the time with no issues.
A plastic scraping tool may help with the steamer
@@ReimaginedWraps oh i see, before i wash my car every 2 weeks i noticed im kind of scratching the paint even using soft brush and sponges. so i decided to wash it 1 a month. if ever, i usuallt parked on a shaded or with roof. but i guess that the vinyl isnt made to last long too. thank you so much for the info😁👍
Not a problem! Im glad i could help 👍🏻

This man waited until he got the whole strip off before asking the owner what he wanted to do 💀
Its easy to hate without context. Every client of mine is aware up front of the situation and what we are getting into. It can go 1 of two ways, it comes off easy or it doesnt. I charge by the hour for removal and instead of handing them a $1000 bill when im done, i ask them how theyd like to proceed before hand. They know that this is a possibility before i even lay a finger on the car
To be safe you should have used goof it'll remove it nice
Thank you for the recommendation, this glue was too stubborn for even goof off. I have learned a lot since the time i did this removal. Nowadays i would have used paint thinner and it would have done the trick easily
Paint thinner? How can you use that without damaging the paint?
@@Myhouseisclean paint thinner will not go through a clear coat if used carefully. If you used paint thinner on bare paint it will rub right off.
@@ReimaginedWrapsGood to know. I’ll pick some up before I remove my stripes.
@@Myhouseisclean it works great! Just dont scrub too hard and test it on a spot down low somewhere to be sure your cars paint/clear handles it okay
...boiling water?
I feel like boiling water may be an issue with the plastic parts. I havent tried it though
Try lighter fluid..
If you have to call the customer to ask if him if they want The glue remover then you shouldn’t be doing the job. And next stop the best and easiest way to remove the glue is by using a little bit of lacquer thinner on a rag or use Goo off. Both of those will remove it fast easy and safe for the paint
Agreed. Additionally, If you are going to claybar, claybar the entire surface.
When it comes to pricing, my clients and i are always of the understanding up front that when it comes to vinyl removal we charge by the hour. There are many variables when it comes to removing vinyl, such as how long it has been installed, what materials were used, how it was cared for, how much sun exposure it has had. Sometimes it comes off in 5 minutes, sometimes it comes off in 5 hours. Up front he knew this and we agreed on a set starting price. He did not want to continue with the added time that this job would take.
Thank you for the information, this is a great tip!! I was early on in my business when i made this video and have since changed the way that i do this process a bit.
How's it extra labor if that was your idea to go that route. That's dishonest.
Its easy to make a judgement without having all of the information.
None of these vids need to be more than 2 minutes.
None of the people need to be watching if they dont want to 🤷🏻♂️
Extra cost cause some adhesive did not cone off! Are you kidding. You are supposed to be a pro. How embarrassing.
I suck bad and i am an embarrassment. Have a good day
@@ReimaginedWraps probably not true but imagine my reaction as a customer. The customer probably knows that glue is involved. You are a pro so he goes to you. Then you call telling him that you need another $100 bucks because of the glue. As the customer I would be disappointed. As the pro (you) I would be embarrassed that I did not cover that base when I told him the price. I hope this clarifies my comment. Anyhow best wishes for 2023. I do hope it works out well for you and all of us.

@@ReimaginedWraps i saw your vid because tomorrow I will try to remove cooked vinyl stripes from a 4 year old Mini without burning up or scratching up the silver paint. So I watched a bunch of vids including yours. I have lots of appropriate experience and am slow and meticulous. I will use the heat gun technique. I will heat the entire three feet of the wide stripes to get started. Just to get it around 100 degrees. I have the temperature gun to help. I’ll start at an end with the surface about 140 degrees trying not to melt my teflon spatula. If that succeeds, then adhesive removal, wax and residue removal and polishing will prep for the new stripes. I suspect that this process will have the potential for disaster. I’ll let you know how it goes.
@@larrysorenson4789 thank you for watching our video!! Hopefully you were able to find something useful that helps throughout the process. Best of luck
